  2. Eagles....Amazing band! By the way, I believe this song was a bit underrated and should be at least a 5, not a 3.5. A fabulous selection for Christmas, Thanks. https://postimg.org/image/qlwuezhkv/

  7. No, it´s the view from a small hospital i used to work at a few years ago, the landscape is amazing around here esp. in winter. It is really close to my grandmother´s and grandfather´s - so atm i am really close to where the pic was taken, just today it looks like: http://up.picr.de/27854268md.jpg let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

  12. Originally posted on the Anvil, now linked here. :) ---- I haven't yet seen a simple how-to-use CDLC video guide for RS2014 so I created one. I hope that it's helpful to some. PC only, because I don't have a Mac, PS3, or Xbox. EDIT: Once CustomsForge.com gets fully up and running, I'll probably make a new video that showcases here specifically to replace this old one that has Anvil-specific sequences.

  17. Here's my last try before heading off the the family holiday feast. RTRNR on bass at 99% - there are a couple of pull offs that always seem to miss. The computer got a whole bunch of new parts under the tree, so I don't know when I'll be back online. So this is likely my last chance to wish you all a Merry Christmas until next year.

  18. For El Capitan: An El Capitan version of Mono has been released, version 4.0.4.4 Download it here: Download Mono MDK Due to changes made by Apple in El Capitan, Mono is no longer able to be installed in its default directory. However, as of writing these instructions (Oct. 6, 2015) the Mono installer still attempts to install as default and fails without giving an error, thus not actually installing Mono. This will likely be changed/updated in the future, so the instructions listed below may not be necessary in the future. After installing Mono, do the following to confirm the installation: Open TerminalType: monoIf you get a list of mono commands that starts with "Usage is: mono [options] program [program-options]", then Mono has installed properly. If you get "command not found", then Mono has failed to install properly. Follow the steps below:In Terminal, type: sudo mkdir /usr/local/binPress enter -- This command creates the directory for /usr/local/binYou will be prompted for your user password. Type it in and press enter.Type: sudo chmod 777 /usr/localPress enter -- This command changes the permissions for the /usr/local directory to give it read/write permissionsReinstall Mono and use Terminal to confirm. You can also type "which mono", and the answer returned will be "/usr/local/bin/mono" If You Get A Message About The Toolkit Requiring Mono 2.8 or Higher To Run (Despite Installing Any of the Versions of Mono Above): Once Mono is installed correctly, use this version of the Toolkit: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ongd4aunfuhid0b/RocksmithCustomSongToolkit.zip?dl=0 ** I have edited the script that launches it so that it works on El Capitan. This information has been passed along to @@Alex360 so that all future versions should work without editing. ** Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!!! Works fine on Mac OS Sierra!

  20. Well I can solve your floating pick issues. I've played for near 20 years and I'm by no means competent at it mostly playing on and off throughout the years. Recently after learning of RS and picking it up, I put two and two together after having pick slip. Try non skid tape. https://www.google.com/search?q=non+skid+tape&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjo08m0wfPJAhXIYyYKHUDqCR8Q_AUICCgC&biw=1200&bih=874 Place a small piece on either side of your pick and trim it to pick size with scissors. Pick slippage is far less likely. Leave lower 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch where pick contacts string clear of tape. Otherwise it's essentially sandpaper on your strings. As for noise I play using a laptop and headphones, I live in an apartment and my lease states "no musical instruments". The headphones allow me to hear what I'm doing no matter time of day and my family can't hear so I know neighbors can't hear either. I've never had doubt and never questioned why my playing wasn't progressing, I've always known it was me holding myself back. Too little time to practice, it hurt my hands/fingers, I sound like crap, I'm wasting my time. I ran through each of those, I had to ask why I'm learning what I wanted to do. If your goal was to impress people then failure may be in the cards as those that would be impressed and would want to know you because you play wouldn't be worth my time to know. In the end my playing is mine, it's something I do for me. At 18 my father gave me his guitar and I've had it my entire life now along with his classical I remember playing as a child. When I play I think of him. Though I'm no Steve Vai and doubt I'll ever be, I do enjoy playing. I'm at a wall with a few songs in RS currently and not progressing to where I think I should, I can play the songs and score well on master, but I can not 100% reproduce the song. This bothers me, yet I persist. Hold onto your gear, even if you pull it out once a month it'll always be there and your fingers will always know where they need to be. Few months ago I continued the tradition my father started with me. After my daughter turned 18 and mentioned in passing she always wanted to learn violin, I went and bought her one. Told her if she learns to play it fine, if she only picks it up every so often and plays it's still money well spent as it's something she'll have and hold onto her whole life.

  21. I think DD is a good idea that helps make Rocksmith more accessible to true novices. BUT, for me personally, I wish that there was an option to always load up songs with DD maxed out unless the profile has intentionally turned down the difficulty in RR. Although I understand the attraction of DD for some, in general I feel like RR with slowdown + accelerate is almost always a much more effective way for me personally to learn a tough song. It annoys me that I have to pause, select all, and crank up the difficulty to max on new songs with DD. It annoys me MORE when I haven't played a song for a while (few weeks or more) but I have a personal best in the 99-100% mastery range, and Rocksmith apparently "forgets" that I can clearly manage the song and drops down the DD so I have to crank it up again. A checkbox for "always use max difficulty" would be much more convenient. I'd imagine that will be a pretty common request to Ubisoft, so it will probably make it into either a patch for RS2014 (like the "never use Master Mode" godsend they added a while back) or the next version of RS. Fingers crossed.
