-= MOVIE RECOMMENDATION for 10inarow =-

So... i am quite a moviehead... but real life can be a pain when it comes to finding 2 free hours regularly esp. when you spend your free time jammin on some chords....

What i have done against that is bringing to life "10 in a row" which means 10 movies in a row me and a couple of friends celebrate 2 or 3 times a year (we have the 25th anniversary on saturday (!) if counted right). So thats two days and i havent had any time to browse imdb by now.

We have one fixstartin movie which is always a running series - upcoming Poltergeist II (we had the child plays, the dirty harries, the death wishes ... :) ), the rest 9 are presented by the contestants - 6 including 2 girls - so there is a 50% chance for the second movie of everyone, one is for sure.

So i need your recommendations for my share (2 flics). Gimme your best shot.

Whats the coolest / best / strangest movie - you have ever seen and YOU would enter in that sort of happening.

Rules - no rules - except none of the others must know the movie and max lenght 100min, but that is not strict, i got 200 for 2 movies and shortfilms are allowed.

Usually i am the Tarrantino / Raid / Hostel / Wrong Turn guy but sometimes i even throw in a snowboard or music documentary, and doesnt matter - any genre welcome:

please gimme title, year, and a short description whats its about and why its so good.

THX!!!!

If you're doing this via Netflix, Kung Fury is a great homage to all of the classic 80s kung fu movie tropes while still being both hilarious and entertaining. Plus at a 30 minute runtime it would be a nice refreshing break through the movies. Especially if alcohol be involved.

That is great ... and it was part of the last 10inarow :) :) :)

My recommendation would be "Whiplash" if none of you have seen that yet. I think, that's a movie every musician should see and when you do, you'll know why.

You won't believe it but yesterday afternoon i chose Whiplash as fixstarter (unless a recommendation here would blow it away)...

And .. yes: i have allready been showing “ It might get loud “

I decided to choose wierdest film. I've seen so many wierd films but not many I'd reccomend.

I don't want to describe the films in case I spoil them..

Videodrome (1983) - a very surreal experience

Society (1989) - shunting!! say no more

You need at least 1 Troma film so I'd go for Terror Firmer (1999) - cult classic for diehard Troma fans

Donnie Darko (2001) - nicely disturbing

Enemy (2013) - WTF!

Was just reading some movies, Roar (1981) is interesting, it's about a family of 5, mom, dad, daughter, son, and their pet Neil.

Neil is a fucking lion, like a real lion

No trainers, no cgi, no trickery, real, actual, Lion.

Google it, let the stills show the real of the lion

I'm sure you've got Tarantino covered  (Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction,True Romance )

so my cool list would be

Bladerunner (1982)

Falling Down (1993)

Trainspotting (1996)

Fight Club (1999)

Man On Fire (2004)

And coz I like a good heist

The Bank Job (2008) - based on true events

Inception (2010)

Is it coincidence that the latest episode of "The Good Wife" mentioned that movie? Either way, I think, I have to see it now.
