So my worst nightmare about playing bass has became a reality.. I AM FORGETTING HOW TO PLAY SONGS!!! So in the last few weeks I have been practicing 2 songs more then others for my Solo performance for school. Now that 1/2 has been done, I have come to realize I cant play as many songs off heart as I once could. Anybody got some help for me??? Also, I know there is bass for Goodbye Blue Sky by Pink Floyd but I cant find a decent tab.. any help there please? Cheers

Hi, I created a CDLC (Bass only) in E tuning. However, I realized toward the end that I needed a lower D on the 4th string. So I retuned to Drop D but now, I find it's very hard to play. Should the whole thing be retuned in D? Or can the fingering be altered to make it ewasier? For example, I can't do unfretted slides in TuxGuitar and before I make note-per-note changes in EOF, I want to make sure my tablature won't change. So many slides are incorrect. But I'm more interested in knowing if I need to tune the whole thing to D (ugh!) or not. Thanks, L

So, Iron Maiden The Trooper, no idea why but I seem to have atleast 90% on it. But I still feel as though I am not fast enough for the triplets. I use a 3 finger technique to do it but what would you guys suggest to improve my skills? Is there a kind of CDLC or something I can download that will just focus on practicing triplets?

So the other night I Finished syncing the BASS for PRIMUS - Here Come The Bastards... BUT There was a bug and my ".psarc" file ended up with the notes from the 1st save i did about 1 minute into starting... SO... my time has been wasted and i am Sad-Faced to the Max right now... Not sure why it didn't successfully save... :(

Hey, First, just want to say this site, in combination with Rocksmith itself, has been a wonderful thing for me. I had wanted to learn to play the bass since high school, and now 20 or so years later I'm actually learning. It's been the perfect way to unwind after 9 hours of looking at spreadsheets at work! The main point of this thread is I'm looking for recommendations for "slow" songs, preferably ones that have bass tracks. Ones currently in my collection that fit the bill include Patsy Cline's Crazy, George Michael's Kissing a Fool, and Nora Jones' Don't Know Why. Things like NIN's Hurt also works, as does Chris Isaak's Wicked Game. Apologies in advance if there's a thread for this already. I searched and couldn't find one. Thanks, NotStanley

I just got heavy gauge strings for my bass recently and I've been working out the strings a bit so I could play Drop B CDLC. As soon as I get to the tuner, that's when I have a problem. As soon as the tuner on the B string hits +20, then it goes all the way back to +999 like it wouldn't register any more than that. Can someone tell me what I need to do to fix this? Thanks.

So, I have a CDLC I'm working on where the Bass part is played on a 6 string bass and there is absolutely no way you can play it at all without a 6 string bass. Anyway, I tabbed it out and it sounded great and I was able to work around the 4 string limit by making it a guitar track. I used this workaround here to be able to play a 6 string bass in an actual 6 string format basically acting like a guitar part. The plan worked perfectly except when I got into the actual song I noticed it was having a hard time detecting my notes or something because even when I played a correct note it would tell me I'm missing it. So my question is: Could this be because it is essentially a bass part masquerading as a guitar part or is it simply because the notes are too low? is it something to do with 311.2hz workaround? And lastly, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? If you want to look at the chart for yourself here it is. The tuning is just standard BEADGC it just appears weird because of the workaround. I downloaded the version where I can fix the tuning problem for songs that are CDLC. But, the new problem that I have now is, I am not able to play the song at all after fixing it. It is like my keyboard decided to stop working. Any help would be great. I am very new at this and I am just getting a little frustrated. Thanks

Wich band inspired you to play guitar or bass or other instrument? To me,mostly it was Green Day when i was about 12-13 years old.I listend Jesus of Suburbia so many times,and then i thought how awsome could be to play guitar like them, and even make a rock band but it was just a dream to me,just to learn to play the guitar and didn't even know Rocksmith.So yeah,to me Green Day inspired me also Billy Talent with their cool songs like Viking Death March,Fallen Leaves,Saint Veronika etc,but wich band or even music inspired you to play?

I've made 2 Daft Punk CDLC and i need help from anyone who is interested. Instant crush : For this one, i've made a guitar and bass chart. I think the guitar is good, maybe some errors in the solo. But if some bassists can take a look at the chorus. I've made a guitar and bass chart. The guitar has a funky part in the beginning and two solos, i put some keyboards part because there are a lot of long parts without guitar. The song is 9 minutes long. The guitar is good i think but the bass has some flaws. So the bass is okay for the first three minutes, then i have some doubts from 3 to 6 minutes. Then it goes grazy for the last part, with a guitar pro that is far from perfect and 16 measures missing. I post it here because i'm not gonna work on it anymore. I don't have the capability to chart the bass. If anyone wants to take a look, correct some, adopt the project or just play it, it's ok for me. I can make all the EOF file available. I would have abandonned the project, but that's a 9 minutes song and the first half is good. A few weeks ago I charted a song from Dir en Grey that has a pretty cool bass solo. So often when I make a cdlc there are no bass tabs available, but for *most* songs the bass tab looks alot like the rythm guitar tab, so what I do is select all, copy and paste in bass. Then select all, deselect single notes, clear orange, deselect single notes, clear blue, deselect single notes, clear yellow. now all the chords are reduced to their bass note. Also PM are almost not used in bass, in some guitar genres alot (the ones I'm making anyway) So now I still have to delete (make normal notes) out the PM, what can be alot of selecting work, following complex chug patterns. Also later on checking out the total bass tab offcourse. But now what I suggest is a 'Bassify' function in EoF that does this in one step. 1) reducing chords to their bass note 2) making all the PM notes to normal notes Or maybe 2 seperate buttons for this. I don't know if its possible to implement, but it would help out alot I think, maybe also encourage people to include bass more. Let me know what you think of it :)

The Riverside and Ozric Tentacles songs have been published, so all that's left for now is Atheist - Mother Man, a technical monster, on bass. I'll be working on getting that ready for guitar, as well as a few other songs, but I wouldn't expect much else to show up here for at least a few days (say, July 15th at the earliest). Peace! Atheist - Mother Man (technical death metal, LRB) Played through, so you can see what it's like without having to experience it yourself. Sync might still be a bit off in places, as this is by far the hardest song I've tried to sync. I'm not sure if any other songs uploaded thus far have two-handed chord tapping (and if they do, certainly not on bass!), so figuring out what to do with that was a little complicated. The bass part is definitely not quite right (missing a couple of measures at one point, and the real tapping section is more complicated than what's tabbed), but I think it's pretty close to release ready. Rush - The Anarchist (B only, not terribly difficult except for the pre-verse fills). There's also a GP tab if you want to do corrections (or add the guitar tab). Here's a video of me playing it. There will probably be changes to the tab so I haven't done touch-ups to sustains and slides and that kind of thing. That said, there are a few things that I definitely need help with. -It sounds like there's a little fill before some of the choruses, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. -There's also a section during the solo (specifically 5:22-5:30) where the bass tab said to repeat the stuff on the A string 4 times, but it doesn't fit into the measures and I'm also not sure it sounds right. -----Lastly, while I used the bass tone from Headlong Flight, it doesn't sound nearly meaty enough for this song from the same album. Does anyone have suggestions for tones? Opeth - Deliverance (LRB) .psarc and .GP used.I hadn't made all the changes in the .GP before making the .psarc (most notably in the "Walk with me / You'll never leave..." verses), but otherwise I think this one might be pretty close. Tones taken from @@bernixix's Bleak, which are good tones and on the previous album, so hopefully they work pretty well. Might want to tweak some sustains and such in the outro, but otherwise I think things look pretty good on bass. Graveyard songs - Not sure this really fits in here, but I'm working on a few songs of theirs, and while the guitar parts seem pretty good, the bass is... pretty terrible. I'm looking for someone with a better ear than me to help finish up the GP edits for the bass parts on them. Buying Truth (Tack and Forlat) - Once I fixed the rhythm of the verse riff (seriously), this one seemed pretty good. Main things that seemed wrong are various fills in measures 23-26 and 53-56 that I left blank for the moment. No Good, Mr. Holden - Measure 2 sounds like it has something extra near/in between the 8s. Fills in measure 6 and related measures (right after the "quarter note") are missing. I also think these measures have more repeated notes in the tab than are actually played. I can probably figure these out myself given time. The high parts in measures 17-18 and related measures are wrong. Some later parts have different "fills" there, and those seem better. Ain't Fit to Live Here - I wish I could say I was confident about any part of this tab. I've changed the verse to match the guitar parts, but I'm not entirely sure about it (it sounds a bit high, maybe? But probably not an octave). Started to change the choruses over, but wasn't really sure it fit. Not really sure about the part between the no-guitar bit and the last verse either. I guess I lied earlier - I am confident about the no-guitar bit. How do all of these tabs have 5 star ratings from numerous voters? I was thinking about on making a list of cdlc songs that have amazing basslines. I'm a bass player so it's kind of hard to find a song in the whole cdlc library that has a really cool basslines. Sometimes, the songs that have a cool basslines are the ones that have bass charted only, but that doesn't happend frequently. So this is list of songs that you must try (in my opinion). You can submit songs as well. This list is not a top 100 or somthing like that. It's just a list for bass players (or guitar players that want to give bass a shot) that want something funny, entertaining or good to play. Also, this doesn't have an order and it's infinite. some songs i download have really weird/distorted tones when playing bass. For example, the song " i'll be there for you'' from FRIENDS, when i play, it sounds like im playing a guitar and the tone sounds like i am playing Jordan from buckethead lol. (also you can hear the actual bass of the song and it does not sound like that at all) please help and thanks in advance :) p.s. not all CDLC songs are like that just some. p.s.s. i read the comments on the download and no one complains about it.

hello! i have a few questions about how people are calibrating and setting up the game. i play bass, so this mainly applies to bass, but i expect it crosses over to guitar as well. i want to be able to play with a light touch and i have had some issues with the game not picking up notes. i am pretty sure that is what the problem is. when i play light it sometimes misses in a run of notes that are the same. but if i play a similar section really hard, it never misses. i've messed around with the volume on the real tone cable settings and that leads to calibrating. what i wonder is what all you people are doing in this regard? do you always turn the volume and tone full blast on your bass? when you calibrate do you play only as hard as you want your hardest touch to be when it ramps up to the max. for players with more than one bass, do you always re-calibrate when you switch basses? i'm not super concerned with how loud my bass is in the game, only that the engine senses my touch correctly. on the tuning screen does the machine always tell you your signal is too low? no matter what bass i use, it always tells me it's low. (BUT it always asks me if i am sure i am using a bass too, so i have no idea what is up!) i would love to hear how others are setting up to get the best results!

I still have pretty much no idea what to do with tones (especially for guitar, since I don't have one). If anyone could advise on the most common types of adjustments (EQ, pedals, whatever) that would be a great help! I recently (as of Feb. 2016) started adding the notes.eof files to my download folders. For some of the older ones I think the .ini files were different which can cause the sync to get screwed up, so I'll try to update the older ones (I'll probably be wanting to do serious updates to lots of my older CDLC anyway). So far, my Blotted Science, Between the Buried and Me, Coroner, HeXeN, Nevermore, Skeletonwitch, Streetlight Manifesto, Testament, Vektor, and Warbringer customs have the notes.eof file in the download folder. Finished CDLC (organized roughly by genre): I haven't done every custom by every band listed here, which should hopefully be obvious. Just that I've done at least one by each band (I'll try to add the exact number I've done in parentheses). If I feel a band belongs in multiple categories, I'll put them in multiple times. Hi there, I'm a bass player that makes playthorugh videos, the thing is that I think that the way to promote your videos here is not good enough, the only way that your video can be viewed is if a user that creates CDLC, post your video as a playthrough in their pages, also you can't post any playthorugh of an official DLC here, so what is the best way to promote the videos?, do you agree with me? Please let me know

Hey guys, I was wondering what songs or bands would you recommend to try an electro acoustic bass in rocksmith

Hi. I have been making some bass cover videos on YouTube and putting tabs for the song. I play all songs in standart tuning and try to make the bassline close to the original but also interesting and easy to remember/play(since it's so hard and pointless to play all the notes exactly like the bassist did on the recording). Maybe I will do some lessons about bass and musical theory applied to it, if anybody is interested... So this is my YouTube channel: youtube.com/user/MysteriousBassBoy I would also recommend this site for learning bass, as it helped me a lot years ago, now it looks like it's has some paid lessons put I think there's still lots of good stuff for free there. It also has a cool bass tuner and other resources like that. This isn't for money or just personal promotion, I really want some positive criticism over my videos and I think that many people here could learn a little bit with me and teach me some stuff too. Hope this is helpful for somebody...

i'm having an issue with rocksmith 2014, it's doing it on the ps3 version and the PC one. for some reason, it won't tune down to B standard or lower but i tried it on my actual tuner and it worked but for some reason it wont work on rocksmith. does it have something to do with the CDLC? any help would be great! thanks!

I imagine this question's been asked a few times but in the hope of progress.. Has anyone created custom songs for 5 String Bass? Gutted I can't use the low B in game. Songs from artists like Jamiroquai would benefit in a big way! Has anyone managed to trick the game into showing 5 strings on the note highway? I'm sure someone in this talented community has worked something out?!
