Yeah. That fixed it. I normally run at 7680x1440 (triple display). I set it for one display (2650x1440) and it ran fine. When I re-enabled triple screen, it still runs fine. <shrugs> So I'm good now. Thanks for the help!

Try most Iced Earth stuff really slow. I'm working on Stormrider for that.

I'm not sure if I installed the correctly, but it won't run for me. I'm running Win7 - 64bit. The files in the .zip look like they run independently, so I created a directory and extracted them there. I hadn't picked up my guitars in several weeks because I'd been feeling so frustrated at my lack of progress of late. I felt like I can play Blitzkrieg Bop and that's it. Everything else it too hard for me. So this has been great! I can actually pretty much play a song by one of my favorite bands, and a song I really like. I'm feeling motivated again. Thanks!

Check out anything from Circle, or any of the other albums. The reason I like them so much now is because the singers has a great clean and growly voice. If you get a chance to see them live, they play a lot of the more aggressive stuff. BTW, when I listen to them on Spotify, the songs that come up seem to be all of the clean vocal songs. I don't have the premium version, so that may be different for you. You can always listen to the albums from YouTube.

It's my favorite airplane. No other tie. That's pretty cool. The P-47 is an awesome airplane. Impressive to see flying. It's HUGE!

First time participating in a Championship and this is my first time all the way through the song. I will get better. BTW, I happen to love the new Amorphis as well as the old Amorphis. Well, I said I'd post my final playthrough, but we've been without power for the last 37 hours, so that was a no go. I'll try to participate again in a couple of weeks.

I probably won't participate next week as I'll be at ProgPower USA. I'll try to participate the following week though.

This is the first time I've tried to participate in a Championship. I wanted to try playing just one song all week long and only one song (did some Castle Chordead too). I think that either 1) I'm way too noob for this, or 2) I picked the wrong week to try the Championship. I feel like I could eventually play Black Sunshine, but no way in one week. I know I can't do the challenge on the song. I'd miss too many notes to get through. I'm getting home from work late tomorrow night, but I'll try to play it once through at 100% speed and post the score no matter how bad it is. Damn that's fast (for me).

When learning a new song and using Riff Repeater to start slow and increase speed, what method works best for you to increase your speed? Do you find a speed that you can do reliably and repeat that? Or do you find a speed that you struggle with and practice that? Or do you do something else?

I just modified the offending customs that I have. I figured that some of the people making the customs don't know about this problem, so I just wanted to point it out.

When people make customs for bands whose names start with "The", sometimes the song shows up as "The <band name>" and sometimes as "<band name>". DLC from Rocksmith always shows up as "<band name>". It comes down to how people are creating the CDLC in the Toolkit. The problem is that when CDLC creators fill in the "Artist Sort" field, they are filling it in with and without the "The". That field is what controls how Rocksmith 2014 sorts the songs. Rocksmith DLCs have the "Artist" field set with the full name (for example, "The Who"). The "Artist Sort" field is set with the name without the word "The" (for example, "Who"). Here's an example of a CDLC that keeps the word "The" but doesn't screw up the sort order. http://www.yippee38.net/images/Temp/Toolkit.png I'd like to request that all custom creators delete the word "The" from the "Artist Sort" field, or use the process shown in the example above.

I watched some of this. Besides the volume issue, it would be cool if you could demo this as you actually go through the whole process of creating a customm. Some of the stuff you talked about (like using UltraStor), you covered so quickly that I have no idea if what I heard is what you really meant. Also, when you're talking about the doing stuff in EoF, you scroll back and forth in the song very quickly for apparently no reason, and that's very distracting. I'd love to see you break this into one on importing tabs and a separate video on how manually add notes/chords. The reason I say this is because if somebody has a really good tab and doesn't need to manually add any notes, the entire middle part of the video (probably at least 1/3 of the video) is taken up by manually adding notes. Otherwise, thanks for doing this. I may take a shot at making a custom or two based on this.
