  1. You picked a very difficult song to notate :) It sounded pretty alright the way you uploaded it. But if you want more precision, here's what I would do. Since the guitarist is kinda doing his own thing tempo-wise, I would just worry about syncing the important notes (what's "important" is open to interpretation). I consider these the important notes: http://i.imgur.com/cOcetst.png If the circled beat markers are synced, I bet most users wouldn't notice if the rest is slightly off. It sounds like the tabber did some copy-pasting so there is an occasional overstrum here and there. I'd always trust your ear over tabs. Unfortunately there are pelicans and whistles and stuff during the intro so the waveform won't help much when syncing. The spectrogram might help out a little bit (try grayscale with avg freq).
  2. Thanks for looking at it RayneBC. I now know how to make different fingerings show up in-game. The first chord is barred with the first finger. The second (same) chord is barred with the second finger. In order to show the chord barred with the first finger at 3 seconds, and the same chord barred with the second finger at 6 seconds, this is what I did I changed this: <handShapes count="2"> <handShape chordId="0" endTime="3.750" startTime="3.000"/> <handShape chordId="0" endTime="6.750" startTime="6.000"/> </handShapes> to this: <handShapes count="2"> <handShape chordId="0" endTime="3.750" startTime="3.000"/> <handShape chordId="1" endTime="6.750" startTime="6.000"/> </handShapes>
  3. Here's another useful tip taken from an old thread: "After you've synced the first beat marker, and you're trying to just get a general average tempo, you can sync another beat marker further in, then while that latter anchor is selected, use "Beat>Delete anchor". This will remove the anchor, and apply the tempo from the previous anchor to the rest of the beats. Repeating this process going further into the chart increases the accuracy of the first beat marker to the point that you should only have to make minor corrections to beat positions throughout the chart, unless there are big timing changes in the song."
  4. I uploaded a test project (and a psarc) http://www.sendspace.com/file/zh0747 It only has two chords, each fingered differently (I did it manually). EOF shows the fingers are different, and while I only understand the XML a little bit, it looks like it's saying the same thing. Ingame the chords are not fingered differently.
  5. Thanks again. Do customs allow for a single chord to have different handshapes? For example, can a (drop tuning) power chord use a barred index finger, but later in the song can the same power chord use a barred middle finger? If this is not possible that would explain a lot.
  6. I don't think the XML file wasn't udpdated. I'll upload an example after work. Maybe it's not an EOF problem. Thanks for the extra heads up about the tuning. I didn't notice the drop chords were labeled wrong until now (I should probably check all my other drop D stuff). How can I change it so it shows the correct chords names?
  7. Just listened to Land of Confusion again. If you were to raise all the yellow notes up two frets and then push everything down a string the tab makes sense. I'm guessing this problem happened because the tab used a different tuning. The only exception is the last 20 seconds of the song, which would need a little bit of work.
  8. The note detection for Land of Confusion was ok. I didn't miss any notes. But the song was charted wrong. It sounded like everything was a fifth higher than it should have been. Lemme play it again and see exactly what it was.
  9. You wanted someone to test the bass part in Land Of Confusion? I didn't see a bonus arrangement so I played the regular bass part. It worked out well. I got a 99.3% accuracy so the tuning worked It's the lead guitar bonus arrangement, we're trying that with a bass. Ok, I played the Bonus Guitar Arrangement using a real 5-string bass guitar. I played the entire song in riff repeater and missed 0 notes, so the detection works well. Tuning was easy enough. I bet there will be at least one person who doesn't read the release notes and try to tune his bass up too high and snap strings. It'll be a good lesson though.
  10. You wanted someone to test the bass part in Land Of Confusion? I didn't see a bonus arrangement so I played the regular bass part. It worked out well. I got a 99.3% accuracy so the tuning worked out.
  11. Thanks for the update RayneBC. The left hand fingers seem to work fine in EOF, nothing looks like it's being saved wrong. However, ingame the fingerings are still off. I uploaded an example project. The A power chord at measure 5 @ 11.200seconds shows a left hand finger of[ ][ ][ ][ ][1][1]But in game it shows a barred second finger. http://www.sendspace.com/file/a6v8l6
  12. I can't actually think of a single official DLC that has a note head after a slide. As far as I know, they all have the linknext status (or however they call it) appended. Intro to Everlong is an example. It slides up from a B to a G without being linked to anything. There is a tiny bit of space separating the end of the slide and the next note.
  13. Thanks for the fix, I'll check it out when it's available.
  14. I'm noticing some weird stuff happening with manually entered finger #'s. Manually entering the finger # (pressing the f key while a note is selected and filling in the boxes on the right) is overwriting the fingering for other different chords. Is this happening to anyone else? I jumped back several hotfixes and it's still happening, but I never noticed it before.
  15. Also noticed Official DLC is kinda weird. The Jeremy intro has sustained natural harmonics. In Barracuda the harmonics are not using sustained notes but use blue lanes to show how long to let the note ring.
  16. Just played No Surprises (Rhythm). The capo works correctly during the intro when it's just single notes. Then I played a section that uses open chords in riff repeater. If the capo is on, I miss just about all the notes. If the capo is off, I don't miss anything.
  17. Natural harmonics don't work for me when the notes are sustained. 1 out of 10 times it'll work, but I think that's Rocksmith being forgiving which it does with other techniques sometimes. Pinch harmonics seem to work fine when sustained.
  18. Malaguena. I saw my brother playing a simplified version of it, and thought "I bet I could do that".
  19. I've had this problem 3 times. Don't know if it applies to you, but here it is anyways: First Time my cable went bad. Second time I had to fiddle with the sound settings in windows control panel. But a (December?) patch should have fixed that. Third time I had to change the battery in my guitar (active pickups).
  20. Don't be surprised if you end up with a tempo twice as fast as what GPRO tells you: this song is in 6/8.
  21. We can play (at least) down to a low A on a real bass now. Check this out: http://customsforge.com/topic/4750-going-low-a-workaround-to-get-bass-notes-below-c1-to-register-in-rocksmith/
  22. Highlighting non grid snapped notes is an awesome idea, thanks. It's gonna help when converting old songs. The newest update seems to make the high E string disappear.
  23. Slayerad, this is an awesome song (I played the psarc). Thanks a bunch. Reminds me of Tristram. Like everyone said grid snapping is gonna be the best way to get millisecond accuracy, among other things. However, the reason you are missing notes is because the toolkit is set to Eb but the EOF chart is set to E standard (what Ross suggested). In EOF: track->proguitar->set tuning and make all the boxes -1 IF the Toolkit bugs out on you just remove the arrangement and re-add it.
