  1. If you beat map the song in EoF it's surprising how quickly you can build a song up using copy and paste. I could type out some tips on that front if you like? That's fair enough if it's a chordy/repetitive song, but if it's something with lots of solos then typing straight into EoF can be a pain.
  2. Man you're a star :D Tried 1350b and used my normal workflow i.e. set bpm then import. I was gutted to see red tech notes everywhere. Incidentally, I used this http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/q/queen/princes_of_the_universe_guitar_pro.htm Then I imported again at 120 (which imported perfectly) and adjusted to 85 bpm, and it came out perfect. Not a red tech note in the entire arrangement. I am so happy :D I think that it's important to note that there is a difference between importing on 85bpm (for instance) and adjusting to 85bpm from an import on 120bpm. If there is any chance to expand this "fix" to imports on bpms other than 120 then that would be grand, as a lot of time I like to set a complex beat map (songs that go slow, fast, faster, real slow, etc etc) and then re-import as... well when you change bpm a lot it kind of messes up the end of the chart. That's another problem though, thanks a bunch for this fix :D
  3. I tried a few things this morning and found something. I am predicting that the red tech notes are simply maths rounding errors, or indeed the difference between using milliseconds for calculations and beats for calculation. I imported a song at 120bpm and it was perfect, moved it to the GP file's suggestion of 176bpm (nasty number) and there was red everywhere. I then found that the song's real tempo was 180bpm, so I erased everything and started a new project (ocd like that...). When I imported at 120 then moved to 180 things were much, much nicer. Not as perfect as 120, but a world of difference from 176. If nothing can be done it can't be done, at least I understand a bit about what's going on now and can maybe bend a few tempos around to suit myself :)
  4. I never played it in game right enough. I'll be doing a few custom with 1349, I'll see if anything comes up similar or otherwise. Thanks :)
  5. Well I thought I'd better check my facts because I get a bit scared talking to you :) I'm glad I did cause I worked it out. If you import on 120bpm it's (almost) perfect. If you import on a different bpm (I normally find the bpm and set it before I import) there are red tech notes everywhere, and you need to snap them on to the real notes manually - it can get a bit tedious with Jimi solos. Then I just tried importing at 120bpm and then changing the bpm with adjust notes engaged. It came out perfect again. I'll just take that route in future. Not sure if it's been mentioned before or the advice is to import at 120, would have saved me a good few hours of sniper style mouse action :( For reference, here is the GP file I used to test just then. With a 120 import the first red tech note is a few mins in, but importing on the song's 154bpm you can see them straight away. https://www.sendspace.com/file/p0aput I tried 1341 and, bad luck, it worked http://images.ukcs.net/13647/EoF_1341_Import_Logic_Tied_Notes.JPG I've went back to 1349, ever forward :)
  6. I'm not complaining because I don't know if this is expected behavior or not. But I upgraded to 1349 today and seen this http://images.ukcs.net/13647/EoF_1349_Import_Logic_Tied_Notes.JPG Thought it might help with discussion on import logic for tied notes. There are some impossible combinations (E3+G15 for example), so it seems like it should not be happening. I can provide the GP file if it will help. For the record I do like 1349, it seems to import tech notes more on the money. Not perfect (some beats are still off compared to the note gems) but there were no tech notes going on to the next note. So thanks :D
  7. Hi, just wanted to point something out that's been bugging me a while now. When you update the videos in the actual record, it does not translate to the post of the song (when you are just reading the topic). Look at my Jimi Hendrix Red House for an example. If you just read the topic then it the old video, I have subsequently changed both (available) videos, which you can see when you look at the actual record (with the download link). Any thoughts? Thanks :D
  8. The 25 second issue could be because you are using the preview audio instead of the main audio as the sound for the actual song, which could be caused by simply pointing to the wrong audio file when building the custom in the toolkit.
  9. Had a quick read through, didn't see it mentioned. My Girl is an official song, it was dlc for RS12 and hence appears in RS14 if you own it. I have it, it's lots of fun :)
  10. I don't know the answer, but I have another spanner to throw in... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vg3O1oKR8k Around 5.25 there are some (D7+G7+B7) bends that all go the same way. One similarity is that both the Iron Maiden Bends and the Comfortably Numb bends all look to only be half step bends, maybe that is a factor. Also, this is a vid from an earlier version of my Comfortably Nunb, when EoF did not import tech notes from .gp3s (and I was having gfx issues anyway). Don't if this helps or causes more confusion. Thought I'd mention it anyway.
  11. Wow that is impressive... a guitar for each day of the week, and a spare :D
  12. There are 2 items to download for EoF, one for all the background materials it needs and one with the latest EoF.exe If you only have the EoF.exe then you must download the other part, which is in the OP of the EoF thread. Good luck!
  13. Prototype http://youtu.be/Z2VwQMJ4qGw Thanks to afterdark for making the image, and boulettes for making the tool :)
  14. I have very nice tabs for the Maine Road version of Champagne Supernova, but I can't find decent audio anywhere. I could rip it from Youtube but there's no HD uploads, it would all be very harsh on the ears :( Unless someone could send me some decent audio for it...
  15. I just realised what you meant... coincidence... not :D
  16. +1 for that except... maybe a black coffee and a cream cake :D
  17. Any chance of someone making a U2 or Pink Floyd custom inlay? Pretty please ? This would be a good start http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01680/backcatalogue3_1680983c.jpg :D
  18. Alex 360 did a tutorial on smithys about tones, but I can;t seem to find it here... Bascially, design your tones in game and save them (when you assign your own tone to a slot 1,2,3,4 it will ask if you want to save it, say yes), then hit "import" in the tones section in the toolkit when building your custom and navigate here Steam\userdata\17985373\221680\remote Change the file type to *.* (so it shows all files and not just .mp3, .doc etc) and import the biggest file in the folder, it has a long random looking name. All your customs tones will appear in the toolkit. Have fun :)
  19. I started at the top and went for Comfortably Numb! Couldn't play it for crap for 20 years, then I made a Rocksmith custom and it all fell into place :D
  20. How could I forget about the gorgeous Grace Potter http://youtu.be/OYUmciFlvWA And her tasty bass player (sorry for the sound quality, the legs more than make up for it http://youtu.be/tYyoNREIm1k Enjoy :)
  21. She's so bad that it's actually quite entertaining :) Like the post "She should go on American Idol" :D
  22. An easy way to practice is to use Session Mode. Set up a session and have a little jam. The notes you can play are on screen and it's set up so that it's basically how you should be playing it. Use your index finger for all the lowest fretted notes and a combination of your other fingers for the rest, going with whatever you feel comfortable with. There is a "correct" way to play, and if you learn from 8 years old at school with a proper teacher then this is what you will learn, but let's face it most people playing Rocksmith are not classically trained... Go with what feels comfortable to you. I tend to use index and ring the most, as most scales (solos) are centered around 2 fret differences, and when you do bends try to use the ring finger but backed up (share the string tension) with you middle finger. Your ring finger frets the note, but your middle finger is helping it out by taking some of the strain. And, yes, it's all practice practice practice :D
