  1. Hell if you were in Korea I'd just give you the one I have.
  2. Right well I'll stand by my, I can fix almost anything stance....Post pictures. Has the truss rod been bent or snapped? Because if it has it's probably more to fix than that guitar is worth (I'm guessing let me know if you're using something higher end) but necks (as long as they're bolt on), are usually pretty cheap on ebay. So post pics. Tell me as much as you can about the guitar. I tend to agree with Smelly Orc though. Anger+guitar=nothing good.
  3. So for some reason when tapping in session mode it detects less intensity? If the section I play is long enough it will just stop the music. I think this might be related to another problem I'm having which is since the most recent update, the session band seems to decay (stop playing) much faster at any little pause in the guitar part. Is there a way to change the decay rate hiding in an .ini file somewhere?
  4. Also it's just how you hold the neck and endurance. I can play for several hours at a time on single note and basic and non-barred jazz chords. But my hand will tire after about 30 minutes of straight bar-chords. I think part of it is just putting in the time to get the endurance on that technique. My hand used to cramp up when I was tapping those arpeggios like in the lesson and some of the songs on RS (like when you riff repeat the section from Satch Boogie over and over again) but after months and hours of practice, Not anymore. I almost wonder if you might look into one of those cheap practice necks, that have the strings on them. Just as a light hand exercise when you're sitting at work or whatnot. And I agree that RS has some issues with chord detection. Both when you get them wrong and you know you're doing it right and when it detects that you did it right and you're doing it wrong. For drop D I'll usually tune then drop a few cents flat on the E string and that seems to help note detection. I know my guitar is set up properly, but for some reason RS2014 seems to have a hard time with drop D although not as much as the old RS did.
  5. I have an ASUS V550CA. It runs RS fine. It rarely lags. 3rd Gen I7 and 8gb of ram. But....for as much as I've loved Asus in the past; this thing is a dog. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but my worst enemy and even then I wouldn't want my reputation as someone who knows computers to suffer that much. From Asus's proprietary software that is supposedly better than windows at the utilities it manages, but uses way more resources and crashes more often, to the build quality, to the specs compared to other laptops in it's price bracket I would not recommend it. It's barely 8 months old and already falling apart (case in point I have to use the 8 key on my number pad to write this because the one at the top of the keyboard mysteriously stopped working one day) I bought it as an emergency laptop before I came to Korea because one that I had bought and customized from Costco wasn't going to arrive on time. So I had to cancel it (a really sweet HP with discreet gfx) and find a replacement. I would have sent it in for repair long ago if I didn't rely on it everyday. But yeah. Absolute crap. Don't buy one of these even though it runs Rocksmith. Oh and it bluescreens at least once a day. Sometimes more. I can't wait to get back to my desktop.
  6. FireKorn there are customs that I'll be blunt I don't know where to start with them. They are out of sync. They have tones that are just one distortion layered on another. You can barely hear their tracks. They have incorrect charting or missing charting. But saying this is all wrong isn't that constructive but if I complain about one thing after another after they fix each one will it be constructive or will it just piss them off. I usually just delete those charts and assume the charter is working on a better version and go back to check them out. FireKorn what sort of music are you not getting feed back on? I'll make a point of being a targeted feedback person if people want. I might be slow but yeah. I'll go for it.
  7. So for me it depends on what I'm doing? I've recently gotten into a very fast gypsy jazz/ flat picking thing that I use a nylon dunlop for. Very grippy. For metal I use either a fender thin for melodic stuff or a fender heavy (really any completely flat tortex copy from .5 to 1) for fast stuff where I might choose to pick tap. For a sort of funk sound where I need a lot of control no matter what my speed (it slows me down though) 3.0mm big stubbies are my pick. I've never gotten the hang of finger picks for that sort of thing. I just rely on calluses.
  8. This. I admit I am bad at this. But one of the points of why this system is set up the way it is, is for people to give honest feedback. And that doesn't mean "F*ck you don't ever chart again" it means "hey the tone is a bit off seems to be lacking a low end" or "I hear notes but there is no chart for them" (If I can remember the DLC I will make sure to comment). For instance one thing I know I haven't posted but that has been a problem for me is that I have never. Ever. Ever. Gotten any Van Halen chart to open. But I assume it's my computer and write it off. But yeah. I have had this experience in many things (guitar setups and mods included} where I'm like, this is perfect. And the person I'm working for is like "Um could you change this?" and as I've gained more experience I've learned to be like "yeah sure". But when I was first starting I took it as a personal insult. And I think some people (I know I have felt this way also) are worried that the charter is going to feel this way. That they will react "My tone is wrong? Go f*ck a blender." So I see both sides of this. Of course some people are just lazy or assholes so who knows.
  9. For RS I prefer to switch guitars. I finally cracked and got a tremel-no even though I really hate them (Mostly because I hated the guitar I used for Alt tunings even more). They are flimsy pieces of junk that if you are going to switch back and forth between hardtail and trem function you will have to replace yearly as grooves get worn into the post and start affecting the fluidity of the trem. It's not a bad idea just poorly implemented IMO. Eventually I hope to offer an improved version of this but I need to engineer it better and make sure it's not violating the All-parts patent. But anyway. I like FRO but only if I'm not changing tuning. And only if I'm using light strings. 9-42 is my prefered on my trem guitars. 13-56 on my hard tails. If you need any help with your FR let me know. I can fix, build, or repair almost anything. Slightly less useful over the internet.
  10. You might be able to use an auto-wah to get the effect. Or you could notate "pick then swell with volume knob" and use light distortion to emulate the harmonics a violin produces. I don't think RS has a way to cut off the percussive pick of a note, but thumb or finger picking could help. The most important thing is getting a nice legato. Wish they had an ebow option.
  11. And snowdog, what sort do you want to make? It's pretty easy. Biggest thing is sterilize sterilize sterilize.
  12. Yeah gloves are off, I'm not arguing taste, I get taste. But when you say Saying no offense doesn't mean I'm not going to be offended. I am proud of American beer and yes I think your attitude is as big a problem as anything or maybe it's a language barrier. "So cute"? My god what a patronizing statement. I know beer. I love beer. I probably know more about beer than the vast majority of people. I can describe the chemical processes of beer production to you in detail. Saying that Germany and Poland make better beer than the US is like saying Germany and the US make better cars than the Japanese when they objectively don't. And your argument about beer advocate being an American site is just a strawman argument. The people on the site care about beer and many of them often go to great lengths to track down beer from outside of the country. If it sucks? They'll let you know. If it's good? Many of them will pay top dollar to get more. And while we're on the subject, I've had Tyskie. Its not very good, sort of a burnt caramel flavor. Too much corn and although the style usually has a moderate to low bitterness anyway it's just too sweet to be a good example of a Pale Euro Lager. And at almost 20% of the Polish market I'm going to say it's just what you're used to. And I don't mean like "It's a good beer" thick, it had ok lacing on the sides but that underlying sweetness had a very corn syrup taste to it. And the idea that you have sophisticated beer taste? A statement like that after calling American's talk about beer "cute" implies that others on here don't. I'm going to assume that this is either a language barrier or you're just trolling and it's working because god I don't get pissed off like this over much but for fuck sake this is European arrogance at it's best right here.
  13. Dude anyone who says America isn't a beer nation is drinking in the wrong places. There are so many microbrews that are awesome and generally available . If you think American beer is just "OK" at this point you either are drinking the mass market crap from the big 5 or so (you think Sam Adams is drinkable? That's just America's warm up act at this point.) or haven't been to America since the 90s when the situation WAS very sad. This beer snobbery from Europe has got to stop. I've drank beer from Poland and Germany. It's OK. It's better than the Korean beer. But when I'm back in the US you come see me, we'll go to Colorado and I'll show you what Europe is missing. Btw of the top 10 beers on Beer Advocate only 1 is from Europe at all. And it's number 8 on the list Trappist Westvleteren 12 from Brouwerij Westvleteren in Belgium. The other 9 are from the US.
  14. Where in Ohio? Although I'm not there now depending on the type of music and your location I might know a few people who would be interested.
  15. Chord changes if I know the chord are easy, like super easy. But it took me a long time to get there. Some chords I've been using for 10 years or so. And if you throw random jazz or other odd chords at me that I've never seen before in a song? I'll still struggle for a while. Eventually your fingers will just "know" where they need to go. Just takes time.
  16. Eesh ya'll are making this so hard. Forget DLC and CDLC for this one. What you want is Wagon Wheel by OCMS. It's an american ballad almost, with a very blue grass flavor but the guitar part is super easy. It's just an open G D Em C G D C for pretty much every verse and chorus. Capo on 2 if you want to sing it like the band but I have a lower voice so I usually just leave it off and step it down.
  17. Engleg you'll be fine. Are you better than when you started? Are your fingers moving more easily? Are you better at understanding the relationship between strings and frets? Keep at it.
  18. If you just want to adjust your guitar its a good idea. Otherwise you need to delaminate the fret board from the neck. It's not terribly hard this video is great:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrLUslIeFMc
  19. There are some sweet fakes kicking around Korea if you're just interested in the LP copies. But really the brand is as important as anything. Edit: The brand to which I previously referred is an Aileen.
  20. Alright guys I need some help from the collective brain. I have been all over the internet looking for these things. Here is the sort of thing I'm looking for http://www.banzaimusic.com/MEC-M-84201.html But in 500k/500k I'm looking to do the mother of all tonal builds and to make it not look like the backside of a diseased horse I need to come up with this pot. Can anyone help me here? When I'm done it should have almost any option you can name but I need to find a way to cram 9 functions into 3 spots. On the pots I have bass treble volume tone split coil 1 and 2. On the switches active passive, [edit: in phase out of phase] and series parallel. So it's critical for me to find these pots to get what I want out of this build. Or any combination of 50/250, 50/500, 250/500 ect. I hate admitting I can't find a part but well....thanks in advance.
  21. REAAAALLLY depends on the brand. I have an Ariana? Alliyah? something like that I'll have to look when I get home. I hate that guitar. The only one of my guitars that I wouldn't run into a burning building to save. It's a stratish copy like there are super strats and then there is this sort of a sub strat. The body is almost the size of a jazz bass and very fat. The neck isn't too bad, but the fit and finish of the hardware is awful. The volume knob is set in such a way that you can almost not NOT hit it when you're playing, I eventually just took it off. The frets are sharp, as is the bridge, so when you're palm muting you have these burrs digging into your hand. I've been meaning to fix it but I haven't found a place to buy a fine file over here yet so I can dress the rough edges. Oh and the tuning machines catch. They're supposed to be sealed. It's like dirt got into them at the factory. Or they just did a terrible job cutting the gears. Could be either. Oh and the electronics are crackly can't forget that. So yeah really really really depends.
  22. In Colorado there is no shortage of excellent brews. In Korea there is a huge shortage. But for now, overall favorite is Maharaja by Avery in Boulder. Followed closely by Hop Czar by Bridgeport from Portland Oregon. Here in Korea the best thing I've found that isn't 10 dollars a bottle is Queens Ale by Jinro. It's almost an American Style Pale Ale.
  23. I threw in 10 bucks yesterday. If you're concerned about accusations with the money the answer is simple and common. Keep the donations in a separate account. And you've already shown your balance sheet. This is more transparent than most websites I've been a member of.
