  1. Raynebc, I just noticed that when using GP import, artificial harmonics are not imported (because RS2014 does not support A.H.s). However, pinch harmonics are essentially the same thing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_harmonic : To guitar players, one variety of this technique is known as a pinch harmonic.). Would it be possible for EoF to import notes with an artificial harmonic as a pinch harmonic?
  2. Of course beginners won't be able to play Iron Maiden or Dragonforce. That's why they don't. They play and practice songs that are at their skill level. they master those, then they move on to more difficult songs. My own opinion: I hate DD. Even though I have level-up turned off, I have to do that every time a song starts or it will level me down if i make mistakes. So annoying. Having said that, I only use RS2014 to learn the rhythm parts of the songs. If I want to learn a solo, I can do that 100x faster just using tabs. Why? Cause I can pause on every note, I can think of how I will place my fingers. I can repeat a series of how-many-notes-I-want at a speed that I decide, without having to enter some menu. So for me, tabs > RS for learning solos. For rhythms, Rocksmith 2014 is better, imo.
  3. How about you share the .eof and the guitar.ogg file so we can check it out? :) Edit: Whups, didn't look at the date. Anyway, offer still stands.
  4. Never thought about that. Not as accurate, since eight notes and "faster" notes all get truncated to 0 ms, but I guess that'll work in a pinch. Thanks.
  5. I want to poll other authors in here for the following (@@raynebc if this is even possible, I hope so): Currently, there's an option to truncate short notes to 1 ms. Lovely feature, great way to get rid of the annoying sustain on single notes. However, lately I've been making sure that chord sustains are more accurate by forcing chords that come after a rest to draw their handshape (well, force eof to draw them :) ) if it is an identical chord to the one before it. Anyway, this sometimes leaves me with single chords that have a length of 1 ms. Playing this is kinda awkward and does not sound nice. I'd propose making an exception to this function in eof where only single notes have their duration truncated to 1 ms, but chords retain their original length. This could possibly be another user preference, so authors can choose what they like. Not truncating short chords does not clutter the screen with unnecessary sustains like single notes do, and makes for a more accurate chart. What do you guys think?
  6. Set higher buffer or play once, stop and play again(this will workout audio stream to next buffer so you'll get correct position without lag. [thats how I solved this issue, but this could be processed in Background thread] Already tried that. Works when I set a speed lower than 100, but not when I set it to something higher than 100.
  7. There's an odd bug with the playback speed + time stretch where when you input a percentage over 100, the sound is not in sync with the screen anymore. The claps still go off at the right time, but the screen is already way past that point. Don't know/care if it's fixable since the clap is still in sync, and I doubt that anyone else will use the playback speed like that, but I thought I'd let you know.
  8. You need to go to Song -> Track and then pick one of the tracks with the name "real" in it, like Part_Real_guitar or part_real_bass_22.
  9. That sounds like a lot of work. Eeeewwww.
  10. Handshapes is how rocksmith tells you how long to told the chord. Remove your hand from your fretboard, and you stop the chord. Simple. Unless you have some magic guitar. In that case: gimme! Your last sentence does not make sense. Whether or not the gap is a rest or not is irrelevant. Both will result in no chord being played. You don't ring out a chord just because there's nothing in the notation. @@raynebc I understand the limitation. Guess I'll just have to manually do toggle crazy status.
  11. This is mostly just an author preference, some may prefer it one way or the other, and it's probably not as simple as making any repeated chord after a rest display as a chord box, because a rest could be short like a 32nd note. For now, the easiest way to force a repeated chord to show as a chord box is to mark it as "crazy" (just select the chord and press the T key). I do not see how the sustain of a chord is any less important or any more up to the author's preference than a single note's sustain. It's also evident by the way eof exports chord sustains: New chord? Correct sustain. Even if that new chord starts 4 seconds after the last chord ends. So why should it be different from the same chord being played twice, also with silence in the middle? It's not like we should keep the chord ringing just because the next chord just happens to be the same one.
  12. Okay, thanks for the quick update! I guess I'll release that song anyway, and fix it when/if you've managed to prevent that.
  13. Yes, I'm sure I've sent the correct XML files. I looked at both of them, and indeed the one made by EoF does not have the sustain either, but it's shown in game properly. I've made an image of my eof project: http://thumbnails110.imagebam.com/33450/68a5f9334491030.jpg I take it that the first two chords should have a sustain in the XML, and therefore it's probably a bug in EoF, even though EoF's output shows correct in RS2014, but the DD version does not show the chord sustain properly?
  14. Wrong thread. Read this: http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/ and post your problems there if that doesn't fix your issues.
  15. Chlipouni, there's a bug in DDC 2.4 where the chord sustains are not always drawn to their correct lengths, and have their lives cut tragically short. I've uploaded a rar file with the no DD xml (where the chord sustain is correct), the DD xml and the log file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zon4yhchlqqdcb7/chordsustains%20ddc.rar It's the first two and the fifth chords (00:05-00:13 seconds, 00:13- 00:16:50s (approx) and 00:20:80s-00:28:70s (approx)). Could you look into it?
  16. Hey raynebc I've got a request/bug fix for you, but I don't quite know how to explain this: Right now, chordsustain just keeps on going if eof finds an identical chord within ~10 seconds I believe it was? This happens even if a GP file has a rest, and then continues with the same chord. For example: http://thumbnails110.imagebam.com/33442/dafdd0334412217.jpg Is drawn (in-game) like the rest is not even there, because of EoF's behaviour. Is is possible to have EoF implement the chordsustain/rest correctly, by cutting the sustain short when a rest is present and/or the next bar is empty of chords?
  17. I believe he's referring to the grace notes, for example in bar 3, 5, 10 and 11 of the Guitar 1 track.
  18. I cant remember having issues with it, i usually have the chordshapes.xml that i edited do the job. Maybe the chordshapes.xml is missing in your folder? Doh, that was it. I think I accidentally removed it. Thanks
  19. Ever since I think 1337 or 1338 (I think 1338), I have to set the chord fingering manually for each chord, where previously that was done automatically. Anyone else have that problem?
  20. That really limits what I can search for. What if i want to search for everything that's tagged as "Metal" that's in D Standard? I can't.
  21. I have a suggestion for the CDLC search page: the option to only show songs in a certain tuning. This can save same time for those people (read: people like me) that don't want to retune, and don't want to sort by tuning and then try to find the first page where their preferred tuning starts.
  22. Maybe you should spend some money on anger management classes instead of a new guitar. Could be cheaper in the long run.
  23. THat's because the toolkit imports the tone from the package, and does not modify it. So if the imported song has a tone named "default", you can bet your ass that the tone is "empty". Select it and click on edit/change or whatever the button is called. Now change the tone. And then repack.
  24. Hah, that was my first thought when I saw the version number :)
  25. Awesome. Thanks for this great new feature o/
