  1. I still can't even deal with this. It's too much. This year has been too much. My wife recorded her records at his studio. Hers was the house band at First Avenue for a spell. What a drag.
  2. Blitzkreig Bop is a great song to use to get your fingers used to barre chords, too. The trick about learning to do the A minor, E and E Minor chords using your pinky, ring and middle fingers is good too. Eventually it'll be second nature and all you really need to do is lay your index finger across all the strings. Gotta get strength in there, too. So don't forget exercises.
  3. I heard someone say "Is George RR Martin in charge of 2016?"
  4. Glenn Frey - founding member of The Eagles, passed away today at the age of 67. Man, just not fair. What a shitty year!
  5. I'm gonna throw an SSD into this pig in the not to distant future. Is recovering your CDLC just a matter of copying the downloads directory to a backup drive, then back to the C:\ drive where it belongs after the rebuild is done? Can't be that easy, can it? Any tips?
  6. Dude I must have had a bad trip flashback... oops.
  7. Isn't ignition kaput? I don't see it.
  8. How would one search for the lessons that have "You" as the artist? Too few characters and all...
  9. Actually I just went from 2 to 1. Felt the need to have a brand new guitar rather than a guitar I settled for from Craigslist. Traded in my Hagstrom Ultra Swede and some Ibanez POS (Gio somethin' or other) for this: http://images.epiphone.com.s3.amazonaws.com/Products/Les-Paul/Les-Paul-Custom/Gallery/EB_Splash.jpg
  10. My 2 cents.... If multiple people are working on the same song there may be an issue with pace. Say two people are done with their sections, what of the 3rd person who is working on a different pace - they're not ready when the first two are. Could result in some nastygrams going back and forth. Anyway, I'm not a CDLC creator so I'll probably just let you fine folks work it out.
  11. Dude, you friggin rock. Keep up the good great work!
  12. Well I've got no pull here, but I wouldn't think it would be an issue.
  13. Well shit. That's not good. I hope you're feeling better real quick. Damn near did that myself a while back, but it occurs to me that nothing will get any better if you're not here to see it. Know what I mean? Get well my man. Unless you're a woman. Then get well my lady., But you have a pickle in your avatar which would be kinda weird if you're a chick. :) stay well!
  14. Yea that's the most frustrating thing about looking at the Diamonds. I went to guitar center but they said you have to buy it, then they ship it and you pick it up. If you don't like it after 30 days you can return it. Maybe I'll do that for the Monarch.
  15. I'm about to take the plunge and get myself a new guitar in the next few months. I've narrowed it down to 3 guitars - 1) The Grestch Stump-o-Matic 2) The Diamond Renegade Plus in Black and Gold 3) The Diamond Monarch EX 15 in ice blue I played the Grestch, and it's really freakin cool. Anyway - there aren't any dealers in my area so I'll probably have to order one online. That's the point of the post. Has anyone ordered a guitar online and can share your experience? Bonus points that are actually worth nothing if you've ordered a Diamond Guitar. I'm leaning heavily toward the Monarch but I don't want to drop all that cash for something that actually sucks and doesn't look like the photo on the internet. All the places I find online are taking Pre-Orders for the Monarch, but it's June. Aren't these things out yet?
  16. Seems the two tendons that control my thumb on my strumming hand (Right) are pretty well toasted. About a year ago I was in a guitar store, and went to grab a guitar off the rack (bottom rack thankfully). I suddenly had no grip, and an immense amount of pain. That was over a year ago, and while the pain is only infrequently now, it's getting worse. I fear my guitar playing coupled with typing all day long has caught up with me. Never really played much because my wife was in a pretty well respected band back in the day and I was too intimidated to learn how to play while living with a pro. Finally said "fuck it" after learning about RS1. Took the plunge and now I play all the time. But I have to stop. Friggin drag. Doctor's Orders. Not sure for how long. Anyway - if there is someone else who was in the same boat, unable to play due to a repetitive motion injury, are you still suffering, and if not, how long does this take to heal? I've had 3 visits to the Physical Therapist, so I think I'm on the road to getting it fixed, but I don't know when I'll play again.
  17. Three. A Washburn acoustic, some POS Ibanez G50 or something, and the Hagstrom Ultra Swede in my sig. Within the next 12 months I intend on replacing the Ibanez with a Grestch Stump-o-Matic!
  18. I've tried to join the Classic Rock coalition - are these groups solely for CDLC creators? I don't seem to have administrative rights to get in there. Strange.
  19. So what's the story with the display of the donation amount being slightly smaller than the actual donation amount?
  20. I'm probably too self-medicated to find an explanation now, but I noticed that the payment displayed is $1.00 and change lower than my actual donation. Are we paying for Paypal as well now? It didn't used to be lower than the actual donation.
  21. I have it but got frustrated because I can't seem to make any sense of it. Maybe I'll give it another look, as honestly I never have time to delve into it. Wake - Work - Practice - Wife - TV. Rinse and repeat. I only get about 1/2 hour in of practice before it's 8:00pm most times...
  22. I'm good with that, but only after it's crystal clear they have no desire to improve the product. (Apathy when dealing with criticism, no response after X days/weeks, etc...)
