  1. I'm not sure I understand what you did, but you should be able to copy all the notes, then delete them, position the cursor where you need them to be, and paste them back in again.
  2. Ah, okay, I don't use the 'n' menu all that much. Good to know. Thanks.
  3. You're not making much sense. First you say you are posting my customs to other forums, now you're say you're not. I'm not recycling anyone's work, I don't post other people's customs, I don't pack other people's work as torrents (I haven't used bittorrent in years anyway) and I certainly don't threaten others about posting their work. Getting upset over this is a waste of energy. It's certainly not going to stop people from doing what they want with your customs. The only way to be certain your customs will not spread across the internet is to share them with no one.
  4. This exists? Ha! Tells you how long it's been since I've been to the options menu -- or is this in the Riff Repeater? Still, for this song, I plan to add an arrangement that gives some of the chart but leaves parts of it blank to allow some freestyle playing.
  5. You mean in EOF? You can do this by saving the current file under another name, then replace one of the guitar parts with the acoustic track (rename the track of course). Then you can add it as a bonus arrangement in the toolkit.
  6. I've not raised it to question. The people in the other forums like your customs - you indirectly agree that it's ok to pack all customs in a torrent and make a file sharing of it. Then I don't see a reason why it would not be in your interest if somebody takes your work and publish it whereever he likes. I see no difference and it was your idea to rescue customs :) I'd just have rescued yours in case you decide to leave or the forum closes if sharing customs becomes the main thing in this scene. Look, if it's true you've gone ahead and posted my customs elsewhere, then you're worse than the people you're complaining about. Because you pretend you don't approve of it - and yet you've gone ahead and done it anyway. Basically, you've destroyed any integrity you might have had in this conversation. This site doesn't allow us to post other people's customs as our own. I can respect this and I agree with it. I hope you've at least had the decency not to post my customs under your name? I realize you believe you think you can teach me a lesson. You're not. You're telling me a whole lot about yourself though. Like I've said before, the customs we post to this or any other database will ALREADY be taken and shared elsewhere. There's nothing we can do to control this. In other words, there will always be people like yourself.
  7. Is it possible to give only the chord progression (without the actual fretted notes)? I'd like to have a couple of freestyle sections, but still have the chord names displayed as a guide. That way Rocksmith won't count this as misses. I suppose I could try to sync chord names in the lyrics area, unless there's a better way?
  8. I have the right to my opinion. No need to get nasty.
  9. Yes, you're welcome to add mine to the pack. I like the idea that they'll be out there in the wide wide world.
  10. Figured I'd carve out a little corner for my customs. I'll mostly be charting songs I've always wanted to be able to play. Added to Database; Television - Torn Curtain http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/torn-curtain-r3356 Others: The Velvet Underground - Heroin http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/heroin-r3143 Latest version: 1.6 The Velvet Underground - Pale Blue Eyes: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/pale-blue-eyes-r1839 New version: 2.1 -- fixes some of the sync issues and a few notation/rhythm errors. Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps - Be Bop a Lula: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/be-bop-a-lula-r2420 In progress (temporarily unavailable): Dr. Feelgood - Milk and Alcohol (made this as a learning exercise, really) Modern Lovers - Old World (needs work on the strum pattern)
  11. A properly setup guitar should be easy to play. Higher quality guitars tend to have a good setup out of the box, but cheap guitars can usually be improved. And I've always seen good reviews about Peavey guitars. Your best bet is to bring the guitar to a tech for a full setup -- sounds like the truss rod needs adjusting, at the least. You can ask for lighter strings, they'll be easier to play as well.
  12. Doesn't he usually play with his fingers? From the live videos I've seen of him, I don't recall seeing him play with a pick. It helps that he drenches the guitar in fuzz, makes it much easier to play with fingers. I've been working at hybrid picking lately, which is a decent alternative.
  13. If you're really serious about learning to play guitar, start taking lessons from a real teacher. Rocksmith is great for practicing, it's great for improving your technique, and once you already know a bit about playing guitar, it's great for playing songs you'd really like to play. But it really sucks as a teacher, and using it as a beginnner requires a lot more time and dedication than taking lessons will.
  14. On a simiilar note, here's a really interesting article where the author discusses why a Katy Perry song is so effective: http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/culturebox/2014/03/katy_perry_s_teenage_dream_explaining_the_hit_using_music_theory.html He does a followup article on Daft Punk's Get Lucky too.
  15. Is there a place where these customs can be reported and removed from the database?
  16. A followup-- I went ahead and bought the file. Pretty expensive --$5.50, but it's not something I intend to do too often, and this song's very special to me. The tab's pretty good -- looks like something that was done years ago, probably for a guitar magazine or something. It's not 100% accurate: they use repeating figures. But it's definitely easier than having to develop the entire tab by ear.
  17. I'm going to go ahead and order it. The song is almost seven minutes long - if I don't have to tab it all by ear, I'll have a lot more free time... The fact that they're not using repeats is a hopeful sign -- on this song, at least, the guitar part changes all the time, so it's not just a matter where I can just use copy and paste. This is the big difference between charting for customs and preparing tab just to play the song on your own -- since we're playing along with the actual song, it really helps to be playing the same notes as in the song.
  18. Maybe it's because the vocal actually starts this song -- usually the vocals come in later during a song, so I've never noticed it.
  19. Yes, For playback speed, look in the Edit menu (I think), you can set it how you like. For scrolling, holding down the shift and/or ctrl keys gives you various options. I like to use the next beat functions -- page down and page up will jump to the next/previous beat markets. CTRL+ page down/page up with jump to the next beat. There are more -- look in the Help - Keys file.
  20. Excellent, just starting a new custom, this will be a good chance to check it out. Looking forward to those grid lines ! I can say the new quick save is working just the way it's supposed to. Thanks for that!
  21. Anyone here have any experience with Musicnotes tab? http://www.musicnotes.com Are these just printouts of GuitarPro files or have they been professionally prepared? They're kind of pricey. They say the song I'm interested in has 15 pages of tab -- if it's accurate, it'd make my life much easier. But if it's just the Gpro stuff I've found copied and pasted for all the verses, then that's 4 euros wasted.
  22. Tell us what music you're most interested in playing, bands etc. That's going to make a big difference. What kind of guitar does your favorite guitar hero play?
  23. Since my birthday's coming up, I went ahead and bought this direct from the manufacturer. http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/51a7/n57nj1udxg2nbumfg.jpg I have no idea what I'm going to receive. Could be a total POS. Could be a great guitar. Might not even ever get here! (Although they seem like a real company, they supply a lot of the knockoff guitars and even a lot of the name brand stuff). My plan is to use the body as a template to build my own. Unless it turns out to be a decent guitar. Once you've gone headless, it's difficult to go back.
  24. Cherub Rock came with most people's copies of the game, that's why it's being used as the app ID. You'll spare yourself a lot of hassle just buying the DLC.
  25. Hi, I originally had the longer sustains, but shortened them to see if that would help. Most of the lyrics are synced well enough to the song. It's only the first "Well" that shows up as soon as the song starts playing. I don't really pay attention to the lyrics when I'm playing Rocksmtih -- maybe this happens on all songs? I only add the lyrics in to make it more like the 'real thing', but as long as the lyrics display, I'm not so worried about them following the singer exactly. I'd have to know a song REALLY well to want to pay attention to the lyrics while I'm playing.
