CFSM doesn't make the songs "work" or show up in-game, it's mostly used to add dynamic difficulty to old songs to prevent bugs that happen in rocksmith remastered. Here's a guide on cfsm usage. https://customsforge.com/index.php?/topic/51771-customsforge-song-manager-official-guide-2019

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 512
coldrampage replied to Rodman's topic in Rocksmith Championship
Think I got 100% on this one before. Gave it a few goes but kept getting a miss the middle so this'll do for now. Some decent riffs. -

If you've got an image in your clipboard from pressing alt + printscreen you can just press crtl + V on imgurs main page (or the upload page) and it'll upload from your clipboard which skips saving the file to your pc and then having to delete it afterwards. -
Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 511

Got a few random misses in the straight 8th (or 16th idk) note riffs, rip. Oh yea this is pretty nice, I'll have to try the bass later. -
If nothing you are doing is changing what it displayed in game chances are you're using the wrong folder. There could be 2 different rocksmith installs or something. You can check by using cfsm and giving it your rocksmith install path and if they show up in cfsm they should show up fine in-game. If you're launching the game through steam go to the game properties for rocksmith 2014 and browse the game files and check the dlc folder in the path it gives you.

Issues Converting RS1 Files to Xbox
coldrampage replied to JoniStation's topic in CustomsForge Song Manager
Using the standard import menu on a song pack won't work since it's only expecting a single song. If you did manage to unpack the song pack you can't convert individual odlc either since it has a check for that to prevent piracy.- 1 reply

Does anyone have a youtube tutorial for DLC Builder?
coldrampage replied to someotherbruce's topic in DLC Builder
dlc builder is a replacement for rstoolkit, you still need to use eof as usual to chart the song but instead of building the psarc with the toolkit you build it with dlc builder instead. There's no way to edit notes in dlc builder and you still have to add the 10 seconds of leading silence in eof like before. The dlc key field will autofill when you add an arrangement from eof. -
Custom songs only work on the pc, xbox360 and ps3 versions. While the ps4 can be modded no one has figured out the file format yet, which also makes it fairly unlikely for the ps5 getting support either.

The dead tone bug is mostly caused by having a blank tone with no parameters, since you have to add a tone manually it doesn't really work too well with an automatic repair system. There also doesn't seem to be any option to list/quarantine ones with dead tones for manual repair either though which is kind of a shame. According to github there was a fix for null tones in version 2.3.1.0 of the toolkit, so you might be able to sort by toolkit version in cfsm to find some of them. There's also an option in rsmods that tries to prevent the tone system from dying instead but idk how effective it is.

Do you make good use of the different lead/rhythm guitar paths?
coldrampage replied to Shroud's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Guess I've never really thought about it. Kinda just gotten used to the split and what to expect for a lead/rhythm chart. The main downside with the system is that most of the time you only get one rhythm and bass track and 3 lead ones playing all the lead/synth/other stuff since you try to keep the rhythm track in the rhythm territory. And if there's only one guitar track most of the time it's marked as "lead" so it could really be playing anything. For bands like iron maiden with 3 guitarists it's also pretty weird getting a solo on the rhythm track though since I play rhythm to avoid them lol. At that point you've basically got a guitar pro file with each part tabbed out that you'll have to swap between. The flexibility would be nice but I feel it'd be too cumbersome in practice, unless it's something like the multiplayer display where it shows both at once and you can just swap whenever without any input. More info on the paths would be nice though, I feel you get some info based on lead vs rhythm but once you get into 4 lead tracks and one rhythm track you can only really go off the author notes which you can't check in-game which probably puts off some people trying them over the standard tracks. -
Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 507
coldrampage replied to Mikson's topic in Rocksmith Championship
Tones used on a custom have no impact on detection, the note detection is run on your clean direct input. -
Current versions of RSToolkit and CFSM don't allow the use of the "/" character (and a few others) in the sort field as part of their input validation settings. As soon as you click onto another field the "/" character is removed and it double checks before saving. As a workaround I'd recommend using dlc builder with it's quick import feature as it also has no input validation so you can enter whatever you like into the sort fields.

How to use Custom DLCs in RS2014 Remastered [Updated for 2023]
coldrampage replied to Izzy's topic in Tutorials
You can add dynamic difficulty to cdlc that don't have it by repairing them with cfsm. Here's a guide. -
Huh, that looks like it should be working then. I guess something weird is going on. The last things I can suggest trying is updating to the latest version, since it says there's an update available in the top left. And since it's having an issue with loading the save, could you try making a new profile and playing a few songs to see if that works? If none of that works then sorry mate I've got no idea what's going on
-
Have you marked the songs as owned from psarc explorer so that they show up in the owned songs list? Otherwise it won't be able to link the scores in the save file to the actual songs.
-
It doesn't require any kind of special hardware to run and I managed to get most of it working but the UI is just kinda confusing imo. There's black text on black background underneath the profile selection when you first open it which tells you to set your rocksmith path and there's no where else to set it in the settings. If you don't to that nothing else will work properly. The rocksmith live section relied on rocksniffer so that should be dead but the rest should still work. What kind of issues are you having with running it, won't it launch?
-
It hasn't been updated in a while so it could be that the rocksmith update from September broke some/all of it's features, but that should probably only affect the parts that relied on rocksniffer.
