  7. I'm really glad to have a second song in a championship (first on was "Hella Good"). In the post there's a video of my lead playthough. Here is: In case is necessary, i put the final capture of my performance: I think is an intermediate song, there are some chord changes and also licks that a beginner player can't dominate easily. Beside that, hope everyone have fun with this custom, cause i've really enjoy it.

  13. Hi @@zsoca2010, aus Merten bei Bonn :) schön noch einen hier aus Daheimland zu sehen, sind wir ja schon zu dritt (RSBass). Northland-Westfalia sounds interesting, more than Nordrhein-Westfalen @@manchot66 I've tried your Iron Man custom, and everything looks fine to me. The only thing in guitar is you've used almost entirely pitched slides I guess. That looks nice and clean, but it's a hell with recognition, misses over misses. I prefer unpitched slides maybe with link next if necessary, not that frustrating by note detection. Bass is well done. Also the tones are good. About your Epiphone I think 300$ is a very fair and cheap price after one year and in a good condition. I never owned Epiphones and dunno about their quality, but after only one year usage that sounds cheap from 550$ new.

  16. Love the songs selection. Had a problem with recognition of some notes in Superstition, otherwise it would be a 100%. http://i64.tinypic.com/33a5imh.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/2zel1g1.jpg

  18. I've had 3 days of no improvement on Superstition on bass. There always seemed to be between 5 and 7 semi-random misses on the hammer-ons. I agree with someone's post from a few pages back that it seems that you need to play a little earlier than the groove, in places. Finally, as a last resort, I switched from my "alternate tunings" bass to my short scale travel bass, and cut the number of misses in half. So I met my goal - 99.72%.

  19. @ I feel you. When I tried The Shins - For a Fool for 100%, every time I went flawlessly for about 70% of the song my hart would start pounding and I'd always mess up, even on parts that were not too difficult, so in the end I gave it up.

  20. @ it depends on your taste :P Song Selection List was mentioned so let's talk about it's rules: 1. Each participant (current or former) can select up to 4 songs. 2. Each songs needs at least one guitar path (either lead or rhythm) and bass path. 2a. There might be an exception when there is no audible guitars or bass - so guitarist/bassist does not miss on anything. 3. Each song needs Riff Repeater sections (that is a must) and should be of at least good quality. 4. We highly apreciate when you add difficulty rating for your song (mostly lead path). If there is no rating for lead path, song won't be taken under consideration for upcoming week. 4a. Organizer can guess a difficulty of a song, but if guessed wrongly it adds more time to selecting songs, and time is precious. (Not to say that it is irritating) 5. Everyone is welcome to check songs in SSL and add your own opinion on it's difficulty or other issues. 6. It should be understood that lower the tuning lower the chances for the song to be selected. 6a. Lowest tuning for Beginners is D standard. 6b. You should not go lower then C on guitar (with E drop A a weird exception) or B on bass. So how selecting itself works? 1. Organizer sorts the table by lead column (bass from time to time, to select proper MC bass week). 1a. If song has no lead but rhythm, rhythm rating is written into lead column for selecting purpose. 2. One song is selected using Random Number Generator (random.org) for each class (by participants name, so more songs in one lead class does not give you more chances for your song to be selected as they count as one, and later one of them is selected) 2a. There shouldn't be downtuning in class two times in a row, so if needed, new song is selected until it is in E (or different not too low tuning). 2b. If there is a lack of rhythm paths in a week selections, there might be additional changes (most times it's better to use rhythm song used in previous weeks to save sanity). 3. All songs in all arrangements has to be tested for issues and difficulty (some like to downgrade difficult songs). 3a. If there is any problem that disqualifies a song, Organizer needs to comeback to point 2, and select new song for that class. 3b. Issues are mostly RR sections and sync (as those are the ones I can easily spot, some Organizers are better at this and can tell if song is badly charted). 4. If Organizer gets to point 4 he should be extremely happy as selecting songs is over. Like always beginner songs are highly apreciated.

  22. Arghh! I'm getting very frustrated with Superstition: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49Qq-EFnmrKVFJ0MjVCSVk3bmM/view?usp=sharing So I thought I'd give this a little go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49Qq-EFnmrKcWMyOFZZbll0U2c/view?usp=sharing I'd have given it a go earlier in the week, if it wasn't for the tuning. It's a bit late to practice it now. Oh, well, on to next week! :)
