Locked ODLC No longer avaliable on Steam should be allowed to be made and uploaded

Question

Posted

I get not uploading the exact file that came with the game, but charters should be allowed to make versions of these charts. The rule of no uploads makes sense if the song is able to be purchased, but how does it make sense when the song is no longer available in any shape or form? Theres missings songs i want to learn/play damn it lmao. I cant just whip up a sheet version of these songs since im left handed.

Incorrect, and this has been answered several times over. It isn't about the song delisted, it is about sales of songs that have not delisted as users will just wait until the song is removed from the store to download it here.

We have all missed songs, and very very few people are going to purchase them all. I just missed Deftones - Change in the House of Flies. Oh well.

As said several several times over, you have the option to chart it yourself. For yourself, and not for distribution.

It makes plenty of sense that this site will no longer continue exist if this policy changes.

Staff is not going to change their stance on this anytime soon as said many many many times over, and will revisit it in the FAR future.

Your statements and opinions have already been argued here before in previous threads. Put your thoughts and energy to better use. Being left handed, you should be right brained and be able to follow the guides to chart the songs for yourself.

If not, almost every DLC has been covered by someone on Youtube where you can follow along in the format that you are accustomed to as other forum members have also suggested. You just will not have in game feed back.

Whilst there are still DLCs able to be purchased on Steam and the console stores, our stance regarding DLC being uploaded to Ignition WILL NOT change. End of 🙂

That rule is the sole reason CF has been able to last as long as it has, because there was an agreement made between Ubisoft themselves and Customsforge. There is no reason for us to change our stance and dampen our good standing we've maintained with them for over a decade.

So this is a big deal how? As I said, if theyre not direct rips of the charts ubisoft made why should it matter? In total, all of rs2014 remastered songs would be around 6k USD if i did my math right. This isnt including the long gone RS1 dlc songs im mainly complaining about in this post.

As I have said, this is Staffs position. The site is at risk, that is the big deal. That is the sum, the total of it. I am not going to re-argue, re-hash this as it has been already said in numerous times over. The information is already been given to you, and or available to you. If you wish to put yourself at risk, You have the option of hosting a site and playing the legal gambit yourself.

This is very unrealistic with how many programs it takes.

Unrealistic how? There are currently over 73,000 songs on Iginition available for download. Unrealistic is believing one or two people charted 73,000 songs. This means SEVERAL people have taken took the time and learned how to do it. Is it time consuming to learn how? Yes. Is it still time consuming to chart a song after learning? Absolutely. Unrealistic? Absolutely not. There are guides posted on how to do it. Do people come here daily asking how to do this or how to do that, or this isn't working right? Definitely.  It is however no way "unrealistic", especially to do it. The (basic) tools are free.

You say 'for distribution' like we're paying to download cdlc from this site.

Distribution = sharing. Providing for anyone else. If you take the time to make a delisted song for YOURSELF,  there is nothing anyone can do about it. The moment you share it, there is. And it puts this site at risk. It is right in the Guidelines; "On this site, Ubisoft released musical content (such as oDLC or On Disc songs) are not shareable in any form" as also stated by Staff / Moderators several times over. If you replicate a chart and post it or share it, it becomes piracy. That simple. Non - arguable.

Following along doesnt show me how accurate i am

It is part of learning, and developing your own ear. No different from reading sheet music or playing from tab. I already stated you will not get feed back from Youtube like Rocksmith.

nor would it sound good playing along to another bass chart while listening to someone also play

No one said you had to. It doesn't have to sound good. Doing so goes against with what you just said above, showing how accurate you are. You will be able to hear dissonant incorrect notes compared to what is being played, Like playing against the original song, It is no different than playing with the volume on in Rocksmith. Automatic invalid gripe on your part. Turn the volume off on Youtube then, use an acoustic, or your own amp. Your choice.

Or your choice is to not do anything at all. You were given a suggestion as to other avenues to learn the songs that you want to desperately learn. The time spent griping about it is time you could have spent learning how to chart the song, or learning to play the song already.

So ubisoft own the song itself? Because as far as im aware if someone was to make a chart slightly different this couldnt count as piracy in anyway.

If these songs are on youtube, then please, please find me links for free bird and tom sawyer played by someone left handed on bass. This is my point. You, as a righty, try following a lefty on screen.

The time ive spent here "griping" is still far less than itd take to chart even one song

This makes about as much sense as a left handed metric adjustable wrench. It does not matter if the chart exists, as it is unable to be obtained at them moment through a legitimate source. Your original statement stated "with as many programs at it takes". Not that the chart "already exists". All of that is null and void. All of it. You have failed to make a lick of sense or any substantial argument. The tools are there. The means are there. It is up to you to gain the ability to make the chart / part of the chart until the rules change.

They purchased rights / licenses to the songs. Again, I refuse to argue this with you as it has been stated many times over in previous threads all of this, and it is the lose of revenue on yet expired songs.

Wrong. Again, make your own website, host the files of the songs you wish, and find out for yourself with the billion dollar corp. and their lawyers are suing you. What are you changing to make it different? A single note? You are grasping at straws.

This is my point. You, as a righty

You have no idea what my hand dominance is. You are making ASSumptions. Tab is not written left or right handed, I do not have a problem transposing in my head a 7 - 10 slide goes to the left instead of to the right. You can pause the video. There are plenty of tabs out there for Freebird.

If you do not like it, which, hey that is fine, I completely understand, CHART IT YOURSELF. Or play right handed. You will live a longer life becoming right handed. As already stated the rules are not going to change anytime soon. Alternatives are given for you. Take them or not. It does not matter how much you kick and scream, whine or pout. It is not going to change tomorrow, this week, or anytime soon. Your opinion has been written here for all to see, but you are wasting your time. Stop being angry and find a solution to your problem instead of wasting your time and energy on something that is not going to change. You are not the first person to express this (maybe the first with a left handed gripe, I will give you that) but not the first.

Look above. Admin already marked the answer as solution hours ago. Again, it isn't going to change. If you wish to irritate them, ping them directly. I am sure they will not waste their time repeating themselves in a long drawn out thread.

ive found most other songs. its basically impossible to find rs1 songs.

nah you know what, im not quite done replying. they purchased the rights yes, but guess what, theyre removing said songs because they NO LONGER OWN THE LICENSE. so, for the seventh time, what would ubisoft seriously be able to do agaisnt a chart they had already made, but is pulled and no longer playable due to licenses lapsing? You seriously think theyll come after this site for a chart like that?

now im done. if you still wanna retort with the same things feel free. ill only reply to mods or admins that want to have a talk.

No seems about it. I am just a member. I have made no claim to otherwise. I turned that role down. I would have locked this thread days ago. I already stated Ping admin if you wish. You apparently have not noticed, NOT one of them has felt the need to answer you other than, again,  excepting and marking my original reply to you as your answer. That is their answer to you. You choose not to accept this. That is on you. I have saved them time in doing so, so that they are free to maintain and work on the site and other things. They have already answered this over and over again in other threads, and other media, other forums.

Again, already answered. Answered several times, in several other threads. That is why the rule exists. Again, if you do not believe me, try it for yourself. You are more than welcome to. (Although, if charting a song is too difficult for you, I do not see how you will be able to deal with setting up a website, admin'ing a database, et al.) You don't think that this site's creator has been contacted by Ubi? Really?

Good, excellent. Please do. See the above. Again, it will not change anytime soon. IT WILL BE, THE ANSWER WILL REMAIN THE SAME. IT IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYTIME SOON.
