  1. No prob. At the start of this song do you notice the drum clicks? That steady CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK That's the beat. In EOF the vertical lines with arrows on top are beat markers. You can move them around. If you sync the song by lining up the beat markers with the beat of the song (instead of dragging the notes) you only have to sync once instead of worrying about all the arrangements. That is, if the the chart is in sync with the drums, it will be in sync with the bass, guitar, and vocals. Syncing the song to the beat is called Beat Mapping, and there are a few tutorials in the help section. Luckily, there is a huge database of finished beatmaps for songs here: http://customsforge.com/topic/2882-the-third-way-to-chart-customs-with-guitar-herorockbandpsfrets-on-fire-templates/ They are either ripped from rock band/guitar hero, or created by guys who made customs for other music games. If you use these you can focus on the notes and not have to worry about sync.
  2. Just played the rhythm part. It sounded cool, I'd say it's good to go! For improvement you could always make the sync a little tighter. I suggest lining up the beat markers with the beat of the music when starting future songs. It's makes everything easier (you only have to sync once instead of worrying about all the arrangements) and the Dynamic Difficulty Creator software suggest you do it for the best results.
  3. You have to: Create WWISE audio file Create WWISE audio preview file Create a preview picture Create (or take from another song) a tone(s) And use the rocksmith toolkit to put everything together. Way more detail here: http://customsforge.com/topic/1922-how-to-make-pc-cdlcs-for-rocksmith-2014-tutorial-wscreenshots-by-darjusz/ and here: http://customsforge.com/topic/5577-tutorial-list/
  4. I think it is a limitation within Rocksmith. I haven't seen a chord with different note lengths in official charts, but maybe I just haven't played enough. (I wish that THE RIFF REPEATER guy from youtube was on here, I think he's played literally every song.) As Madmaxx suggested here is a simple example: http://i.imgur.com/kV3B5Iu.png BUT it's obvious ingame that something weird is going on. Whenever you hit the linknext part the notes flash and it's a little distracting.
  5. I just downloaded the file Shinedown_Save-Me_v1.1_p.psarc and there is no leading silence. This is the newest file?
  6. I tried it today. It can be done this way when combined with some XML editing; thanks. My thoughts are a little too scattered at the moment to explain what I did but it's gonna be much easier to continue placing single notes right next to each other, toggle crazy, and extend them.
  7. I created a 3 note chord. I checked the SUSTAIN box and scrolled up to give it 700ms of sustain. I switched over to tech view and created a STOP tech note on the top string of the chord 200ms into the sustain. It looks like it was written correctly in the XML (first and second note show 700ms of sustain, third note shows 200ms of sustain) <chord time="203.049" linkNext="0" accent="0" chordId="30" fretHandMute="0" highDensity="0" ignore="0" palmMute="0" hopo="0" strum="down"> <chordNote time="203.049" linkNext="0" accent="0" bend="0" fret="5" hammerOn="0" harmonic="0" hopo="0" ignore="0" leftHand="2" mute="0" palmMute="0" pluck="-1" pullOff="0" slap="-1" slideTo="-1" string="0" sustain="0.700" tremolo="0" harmonicPinch="0" pickDirection="0" rightHand="-1" slideUnpitchTo="-1" tap="0" vibrato="0"/> <chordNote time="203.049" linkNext="0" accent="0" bend="0" fret="5" hammerOn="0" harmonic="0" hopo="0" ignore="0" leftHand="3" mute="0" palmMute="0" pluck="-1" pullOff="0" slap="-1" slideTo="-1" string="2" sustain="0.700" tremolo="0" harmonicPinch="0" pickDirection="0" rightHand="-1" slideUnpitchTo="-1" tap="0" vibrato="0"/> <chordNote time="203.049" linkNext="0" accent="0" bend="0" fret="4" hammerOn="0" harmonic="0" hopo="0" ignore="0" leftHand="1" mute="0" palmMute="0" pluck="-1" pullOff="0" slap="-1" slideTo="-1" string="3" sustain="0.200" tremolo="0" harmonicPinch="0" pickDirection="0" rightHand="-1" slideUnpitchTo="-1" tap="0" vibrato="0"/> Yet in Rocksmith it is shown as a normal chord with all notes having the same length. Is there something else that is needed to be done in order to create chords with different note lengths? Thanks for any help.
  8. Let me make sure I'm right about what you wanna do. You are going to pre-bend a note, then tremolo pick it? If so, create the note, click on it, mouse scroll up to extend it as long as you need to. Press CTRL+SHIFT+O and it will get marked as a tremolo note. Then create the prebend as written in the previous post.
  9. Create note Press F4 to switch to tech mode create tech note over start of regular note press N to open up dialog box and tick the BEND box press SHIFT+B to open up dialog box for bend strength. For more info check this out: http://customsforge.com/topic/890-tech-notes-tutorial-authoring-complex-bends-and-more/
  10. Making songs for the other platforms is easy: just click the checkbox in the toolkit and it'll be made automatically. Just played the lead part. Here's my feedback for improvement. When you save in EOF, it's might ask if you want to apply fingerings for known chord shapes. Click yes whenever you see that. After all chord shapes are defined press CTRL+SHIFT+F and press GENERATE. This tells Rocksmith where you should put your hand on the fretboard. Do this and you'll fix some problems with the chart. There is a bar chord in the chart that has vibrato in it. You can take it out by clicking on the chord and pressing SHIFT+V. The camera is zoomed out really far. You can fix this by adding sections and phrases. Chilpouni's DDC can do this for you automatically if you want. Check it out here: http://customsforge.com/topic/2863-dynamic-difficulty-creator/
  11. Good luck, one riff at a time and it will be easier.
  12. I played it so I could tell it was down a half step. - You are right about playing power chords instead of Major/minor chords. - The chord progression for the chorus of the song is shown as: Bm D A G You can play along as: B5 D5 A5 G5 because that's what the rhythm guitarist is doing. - The chord progression for the verse is shown as: G Em A You COULD play along like this: G5 E5 A5 but you shouldn't because the guitarist is not playing any chords during the verse. You'd have to figure out the single notes he's playing and tab that. If you were to tab the verse using power chords it would not sound out of place or wrong because you'd be following the chord progression, but it wouldn't be accurate. I hope this makes sense, if it doesn't let me know and I'll go into more detail.
  13. Lol, I had to google what an H chord was. I only looked at the chorus. It sounds like power chords. Also, it's tuned down a half step. Substitute the chord chart on that page with this one: http://i.imgur.com/5rSePtd.png During the chorus it sounds like eight notes (mostly). For bass just use the root note.
  14. Chlipouni, In order to work well with the DDC creator, should phrases that are SLIGHTLY (just a few notes) different have the same name, or should they be different? Thanks.
  15. No idea why only the high E string wouldn't register. The only suggestion I can make is to upload the project + psarc so it can be fiddled with.
  16. Try this: Forget about what the default settings are (-4-4-5-5-5-5 like you said) and just change it to 0's in EOF. Then compare that to the output XML file and see if it shows all zeros for the tuning.
  17. In EOF it's Track-ProGuitar-Set Tuning Change all those to 0's, say no to any prompts about transposing. Remove arrangement from toolkit and re-add it. Crashes happen sometimes. Regenerate the package a couple times and see if that fixes the crash problem. If not upload the file and we'll go from there.
  18. In EOF click Track - Rocksmith - Arrangement Type Then select the arrangement you want it to be. In the toolkit remove the arrangement then re-add it. It should automatically be what you chose.
  19. Maybe the tuner is checking for E standard but the song is in another tuning? Check the XML a few lines from the top and see if it says tuning string0=0 string1=0 string2=0 string3=0 string4=0 string5=0 Not word for word exactly like that, but so long as it says all strings equal 0.
  20. Helpful stuff on the bottom of this page: http://www.guitargeek.com/chat/complete-rig-27/elastica-14446/ Doesn't specify for that song, but general gear used by the band if you wanna play around with it. The AMTW is similar to the Fender Twin You got Marshall 4x12 cabs The HW-300 sounds enough like an Ampeg Bass amp. Play with the Marshal amps and distortion pedals to see what fits too.
  21. I'm working on this one too so I'll share what I know. :) It seems (one) of the guitarist is amp-less and creates all his stuff using a Line6 HD500 POD. What's even weirder is he has different tones set up to simulate different tunings. In order to downtune you can use the multipitch pedal (sounds bad but hey whatever) and change the mix up to 100%. He simulates a Mesa Boogie Dual Recitfier so the Cali-100 amp works well enough.
  22. This was done by using the Harmonizer pedal. Thankfully we don't need it anymore if you do what Alex360 and Nacholede said. FYI, the Harmonizer equivalent in RS2014 is called Multipitch but it sucks.
