The Hog an Ravish are nice pedals without a doubt. I was flirting with the Ravish myself and tried it out a couple of times. In the end I think I would not use it that much (other than experimenting etc.) and with the price in mind I moved on... I am currently looking for a nice Chorus pedal. Nothing to fancy or expensive. I owned the EHX Small Clone once but did not like it too much...You guys have any suggestions?

Hey, it is hard to give decent advice from a far but a good advice always is to just go slow. Take a Metallica riff for instance and play it apart from RS, go very slow and try to make it sound clean. After you nailed it or got better increasing speed should not be a problem... There is no secret or tip that makes you better. Find your sweetspot on the bridge and the best grip for you on the pick. Then practise... I think I move my palm up Cheers

Here is my board with bad cam quality :( In front of the amp it starts with an Ibanez Wh7 Wah (in thebackground) - ISP Decimator Noisegate - HB Dyna Compressor - Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer - Hotone Fury Fuzz. The amp loop is set like this: EHX Holy Grail Reverb, TRex Tonebug Phaser, Cool Cat Vibe Tremolo, Boss DD7 Delay, TC Electonix Ditto Loopler and finally an HB Equalizer. I use them on guitars with standard tuning, too. Ernie Ball or D'Dario though. I tried Fender strings once and they were terrible...

Breakfast at Tiffanie's will do the trick easily with only 3 open chords :P

Slow it down in the beginning and increase tempo when you are ready. There is no point in rushing through a song only hitting every 2nd note and still playing sloppy as hell. You will have a very hard time nailing a song. Apart from RS that's how you always should approach a song/lick or whatever you want to learn, play it slowly to begin with and get it clean. Learn the chords/notes and the changes you are supposed to do and play them as clean as possible. In fact playing it clean and slowly will sound much better than fast and sloppy. Its pretty easy to increase mere tempo after you nailed a phrase at slower speed.

Hey, don't sweat it. You have to have patience and commitment in order to play the guitar for real. RS is a great tool that helps you on your way but it should not be seen as a win on it's own. Playing the guitar like Buckethead lies beyond the abilities of 90% of all guitar players out there. It does not only need technique but soul as well and this you can not learn quickly, it has to grow on you. Get yourself a teacher it will boost your learning speed. I never got one and I am wondering where I would be now if I learned with someone telling me what to do and what not. Shredding is an advanced thing you ought to play basics first. Go step by step. You cannot run until you first have learned to walk. Be patient. learning an instrument devotes the learner to stick with it for years. It is hard, very hard in the beginning. It is the way it is. Chords and especially Barrechords are where people usually give up. I witnessed it a lot when I was giving lessons. There is no shortcut. Practice is the key. You can do this!!!

Hey, sry I left out one crucial element in the chain, the cabinet which i mic using the Shure and Sennheiser microphones. These two go into the Focusrite. The Pedals in front and in the loop of the amp are just for tonal changes or effects. You could of course use software Amps and plug your guitar directly into an Audiointerface. With POD Farm you need a Line 6 Interface though and this is why I am keeping the POD GX. But there are a lot of superb free vst amps out there. I record @home when I find the time. My Signal chain goes sth. like this: Guitar - Pedals - Amp (Pedals) - Sm57 & Sennheiser e906 - Focusrite Scarlett - Reaper (Vsts) Pretty simple but works fine for me. I also use a POD GX with POD Farm to quickly record ideas.

Thx for your effort. I have to try again, especially that part at the end. Strange that everything was fine for you there?!? For lower tunings I use a guitar with TOM bridge. I won't give up, I always enjoyed playing along with tunes and RS makes it much more comfortable, even though it's sometimes messed up ;) Cheers all!

I am not quite sure but I think you are missing one *.dll* file which is required to play the Customs...I can't find it though, sry. Must be explained and somewhere to find in the forum I guess...

Today I kinda figured out why I miss a lot of Chords especially when I palm mute them. It depends on the strumming. When I play as usual, tight muted and with a hard strum/attack I miss the notes. When I loosen the muting a bit the notes are recognized.

@@engleg Thx for the reply. I will look into it. Perhaps I also have to detune slightly since my "misses" mostly happen on the lowest string as well. I just picked the Enter Shikari song as an example. Every input leading to a better gaming experience is appreciated :)

If you want to have fun with a Floyd you need an original one or at least a decent Edge Pro from Ibanez. You also have to set it up properly. it can be a pain in the ass... I blocked my licensed Floyd after I got the real deal which made the guitar so much better...

It is better with bass it seems. I checked it and it was spot on for the songs I tried. I can not play strictly after RS. I play after the music and even when I try playing like a robot it is screwed up. Bad tuning should not be the case. I doubled checked and have different guitars for different tunings @home. If you have the time check the Enter Shikari song as an example. It is weird though since the clean part in the middle is recognized without a flaw rocksmith-wise. The part in the end, where the breakdown starts is messed up. If it is messed up for you too, then it has to be RS or the CDLC and I'm at least sure it is not my playin/rig etc. It would caress my mind ;) Cheers

I' ve got an original Floyd Rose in my B.C. Rich Mockingbird. I upgraded it with a black box. It is always nice to pick it up and mess around with the Floyd. If I had to choose though, i would go for a fixed bridge. I actually blocked the Floyd on my Jackson Dinky after a while.

Hey, yesterday I found the time to check an adjust intonation etc. on my guitars. Unfortunately it didn't help out much since I then played "Enter Shikari - Sorry You're not a winner" CDLC. A bunch of notes isn't recognized an I don't struggle with the song, I would go so far to call it rather easy...and in the end there is a part with a lot of chord strumming where I keep missing almost all of them, with different guitars tested... Very annoying and I come to the conclusion that it only can be bad syncing or sth. of the CDLC(s). I should easily get over 90% with this song and i ended up with about 75%... It is not that big of a deal cause it is still fun playing along. Nevertheless it would be nice to have the software working properly... :sad: Someone here who can eventually play the same CDLC without struggling and tell me their experience?

I play a Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier with 1x12 Rectifier Cab and en Engl Fireball with 2x12 Engl Pro Cabinet Both awesome amps! I also had a Vox AC 15 and would love to get one again at some point.

Thx a lot for your answer I appreciate. I guess you guys are right and the problem is (at least partially) on my side. I haven't really calibrated Intonation on my guitars for years, when I think about it. Also my playing tends to be sloppy or I alter a lot when I am riffing chords and am not challenged. So I would say it is a good think though. After all those years of playing guitar I have to again spend attention on what I am doing. Cheers

Hey, I find the CDLC section very confusing with only the songtitle in the thread name. Even though they sometimes appear in the detail I would rather like to see it spot on... Is this going to change? Cheers

Intonation and fret buzz should be fine but I will check again. An example would be: playing a chord constantly and every 3rd one is not recognized or sth, like this

Hey, it seems I get a lot of issues with RS not recognizing the notes I am playing. Am I the only one? I am sure it is not my playing and it happens with custom an original songs. I also use different guitars. I tried a hardwired compressor to boost the signal but it helped a little...any suggestions or optimization tips concerning this problem, it is annyoing?
