  1. Oops, Loneliness, right, that's me trying to respond to your message too fast. How could I forget it since I posted on that OP and it is one of my Top 10 Maiden songs... I'll fix it now. Cheers!
  2. Hi III_Demon, I did link your To Tame a Land in the OP --> See Piece of Mind song 9. I just carriage-returned it because there are 2 versions of this song, the other version back at Smithy's, so yours is the only one currently available. Despite dinosaurs and humans never really coexisting, which the lyricsstate, Quest for Fire is definitely my preferred song out of the two you named. But that's just my opinion. Thanks in advance for your upcoming contribution. Cheers!
  3. Hey Chlipouni, Thanks for the answers! Very kind of you to read through and answer so fast. Here is a link to a folder containing the guitar.ogg, notes.eof, psarc, Pre-DDC-XML,Post DDC XML, DDC Log just in case you need to explore more than expected. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/3m51lr4nlo8b8/HandShape_startTime_adjustment Basically what I am noticing is that, if you see below the slightly more expanded view than the earlier screenshot, it seems like DDC is moving the handshape start point from the first to the 2nd note in the 2nd and 4th marked handshapes, but interestingly the 1st and 3rd marked handshapes remain untouched. So it seems like DDC wants to start handshapes on a beat marker, which handshapes 1 and 3 allow but handshapes 2 and 4 don't since they start between beats. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/DDC%20Log%20Handshape%20Adjustment%20Question%20-%2011Mar15/Handshape%20Start%20Time%20Adjustment%20expanded_zpsltzhualn.png In case you were going to check the included psarc, which I suspect you won't have to, it still requires good tones, a tiny bit more polish/testing, optimized DDC ramp-up, resolve Linknext/Marked handshape issues causing noteheads to disappear in random places of my (Part Real_Bass) finger-style arrangement and resolve intended linked phrases not leveling together. All good testing fun. :) Merci!!
  4. Hi chlipouni, Hope all is well! Applying DDC2.6 to my latest CDLC, MacGyver Theme Song, and I have a couple of questions mostly to satisfy my understanding of DDC and none of which cause me serious problems, yet: 1) This is not new but I neglected to ask you earlier on: In the log file what does "DOM" stand for. Just curious. 12. Generate the result XML file => 1 ms - DOM phrases generation => 0 ms - DOM phrase iterations generation => 1 ms - DOM new linked difficulties generation => 1 ms - DOM chord templates generation => 0 ms - DOM sections generation => 1 ms - DOM DD levels generation ==> INFORMATION : LEVEL 0 : HandShape startTime adjustment (46.191 -> 46.402) ==> INFORMATION : LEVEL 0 : HandShape startTime adjustment (47.454 -> 47.662) => 62 ms 2) You'll notice that in the above code I get a "HandShape startTime adjustment" comment. Problem is that, according to the image below the unadjusted times 46.191 & 47.454 seem to not require any adjustment. I checked in-game and it doesn't have adverse effects on the CDLC in that the fingerprints and the blue handshape markings along the side of the note highway are fine but I was wondering if you could clarify what is going on here. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/DDC%20Log%20Handshape%20Adjustment%20Question%20-%2011Mar15/Handshape%20Start%20Time%20Adjustment_zpsxi9yxyqd.png 3) I see in the DDC Log section called "Sections & Phrase Iterations" a column called "Overlap". I am unfamiliar with this and see a bunch of Y and N so I was wondering if this was worrisome. I'm noticing it may a benign informational item stating that the beginning of a measure has a note sustain tail crossing it. I guess this information display is related to the 2nd bullet in the DDC2.5 updated feature set: "Notes and chords sustain are now considered if they overlap two or more measures (prevent the creation of empty phrases which break the handshapes length)"I'm not sure how to read this "Overlap" column and judge that I should fix something or not. Here is the DDC log I am getting and below is an EOF screenshot of measures 17 and 18 shown and reported as Overlap = Y, which wouldn't normally alarm me unless I am missing something. +----------------------+--------+---------+---------+----------+--------+--------+--------+---------+ | SECTION | PHRASE | MEASURE | PROTECT | TIME | EBEATS | LENGTH | EVENTS | OVERLAP | +----------------------+--------+---------+---------+----------+--------+--------+--------+---------+ | intro.0 | p0 | 1 | | 0.098 | 4 | 1.902 | 0 | N | | . | . | 2 | | 2.000 | 4 | 1.902 | 0 | N | | intro.0 | p1 | 3 | | 3.902 | 4 | 1.687 | 7 | N | | . | . | 4 | | 5.589 | 4 | 1.666 | 7 | Y | | . | . | 5 | | 7.255 | 4 | 1.687 | 7 | N | | . | . | 6 | | 8.942 | 4 | 1.634 | 7 | Y | | intro.1 | p2 | 7 | | 10.576 | 4 | 1.690 | 7 | N | | . | . | 8 | | 12.266 | 4 | 1.627 | 6 | Y | | . | . | 9 | | 13.893 | 4 | 1.692 | 7 | N | | . | . | 10 | | 15.585 | 4 | 1.692 | 7 | Y | | transition.0 | p3 | 11 | | 17.277 | 4 | 1.651 | 2 | N | | . | . | 12 | | 18.928 | 4 | 1.675 | 3 | N | | . | . | 13 | | 20.603 | 4 | 1.622 | 2 | N | | . | . | 14 | | 22.225 | 4 | 1.681 | 2 | N | | hook.0 | p4 | 15 | | 23.906 | 4 | 1.681 | 8 | N | | . | . | 16 | | 25.587 | 4 | 1.645 | 4 | N | | . | . | 17 | | 27.232 | 4 | 1.685 | 3 | Y | | . | . | 18 | | 28.917 | 4 | 1.660 | 5 | Y | | . | . | 19 | | 30.577 | 4 | 1.693 | 4 | N | | . | . | 20 | | 32.270 | 4 | 1.673 | 3 | Y | | . | . | 21 | | 33.943 | 4 | 1.633 | 3 | Y | | . | . | 22 | | 35.576 | 4 | 1.663 | 5 | Y | | buildup.0 | p5 | 23 | | 37.239 | 4 | 1.663 | 2 | N | | . | . | 24 | | 38.902 | 4 | 1.679 | 7 | N | | . | . | 25 | | 40.581 | 4 | 1.660 | 6 | Y | | . | . | 26 | | 42.241 | 4 | 1.669 | 5 | Y | | . | . | 27 | | 43.910 | 4 | 1.649 | 3 | Y | | riff.0 | p6 | 28 | | 45.559 | 4 | 1.687 | 8 | N | | . | . | 29 | | 47.246 | 4 | 1.663 | 8 | N | | . | . | 30 | | 48.909 | 4 | 1.669 | 6 | N | | hook.0 | p7 | 31 | | 50.578 | 4 | 1.679 | 7 | N | | . | . | 32 | | 52.257 | 4 | 1.657 | 4 | N | | . | . | 33 | | 53.914 | 4 | 1.675 | 3 | Y | | . | . | 34 | | 55.589 | 4 | 1.643 | 5 | Y | | . | . | 35 | | 57.232 | 4 | 1.684 | 4 | N | | . | . | 36 | | 58.916 | 4 | 1.663 | 3 | Y | | . | . | 37 | | 60.579 | 4 | 1.645 | 3 | Y | | . | . | 38 | | 62.224 | 4 | 1.655 | 5 | Y | | buildup.0 | p8 | 39 | | 63.879 | 4 | 1.696 | 2 | N | | . | . | 40 | | 65.575 | 4 | 1.654 | 2 | N | | . | . | 41 | | 67.229 | 4 | 1.693 | 2 | N | | buildup.1 | p9 | 42 | | 68.922 | 4 | 1.643 | 8 | N | | . | . | 43 | | 70.565 | 4 | 1.657 | 8 | N | | . | . | 44 | | 72.222 | 4 | 1.714 | 7 | N | +----------------------+--------+---------+---------+----------+--------+--------+--------+---------+ http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/DDC%20Log%20Handshape%20Adjustment%20Question%20-%2011Mar15/Overlap_zpsp7f6elsc.png Nothing urgent, just wondering. Bonne journée! EDIT I just think I figured it out for question 3. "Overlap = Yes" is an indication that Level 0 for that measure will be quite boring to play since there is no new note to play at the beginning of the measure, i.e. <ddc> <level maxCategory="1" maxSubCategory= "1" maxChordNotes="1"/> </ddc>
  5. Hi Azrael, I have lots of respect for you for this initiative and excellent tutorial! Thank-you. I am in the final phases of completing a CDLC, MacGyver theme song, and now that I have read your tutorial I am meaning to add Metronome bonus arrangements. Comments and Questions: 1. Just to make sure I understood your tutorial. I mistakenly assumed that adding metronome automatically took away music volume, forcing one to play the notes coming down the note highway unassisted by the music, but for this to work one must go in the music mixer and set music volume to zero (while ensuring the sound effects are not zero in order to hear the metronome). Was this the intention? I like it like this because one can choose to keep the music faintly playing in the background as a bit of a crutch. 2. Good news my CDLC beginning looks a bit different than your ideal beginning image in the tutorial and it seems to have worked nonetheless. Here's a pic of my beginning (i.e. smaller black space before bar 1 and 2 bars of silence with first note in bar 3). http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/Metronome%20Questions%20-%2009March2015/Beginning%20of%20my%20MacGyver%20song_zpssvhb6vyx.png 2. I was wondering if there was any way for the game's arrangement selection screen to be customized such that the Bonus arrangements have custom names, as I am worried that including metronome arrangements (labelled in my screen shot below as "Bonus Arrangments") will ultimately inadvertently divert people away from seeing the 2nd Lead and Bonus Lead Arrangements (labelled as Alternate Lead) which I would really like them to try since they are vastly different yet hopefully appealing variants I have created. So as the image below I'd ideally have the following: Metal Lead ..........instead of "Lead" --> But since this will be standard I guess this one can (perhaps must) be called "Lead" Acoustic Lead ......instead of " Alternate Lead" Finger-style Lead .. instead of " Alternate Lead" Metal Lead Metronome (or at least Lead Metronome)...... instead of "Bonus Lead" Acoustic Lead Metronome ...... instead of "Bonus Lead" Finger-style Lead Metronome...... instead of "Bonus Lead" http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/Metronome%20Questions%20-%2009March2015/Bonus%20Arrangements%20Screenshot_zpshja5yjlw.png In case you want to test things out, here is a yet unfinished but almost ready to submit CDLC of the MacGyver theme song I've been working on (Sorted in Learn A Song under the letter M). It has preliminary incorrect tones and needs a slight bit more polish. http://www.mediafire.com/download/p8evp5a9zg157b3/RandyEdelman_MacGyverTheme_vBeta030915_v2_Added_DDC_and_Metronome_p.psarc Once again, great work Azrael and Alex360. Cheers!
  6. Thanks cozy1. Just wondering why you deem this specific item as important since from what chlipouni wrote it would seem preferable to unpack the song as charted instead of letting the SNG conversion to XML ignore certain thingssuch as the transcription track. Thanks for your feedback!
  7. So I've tinkered around a bit more with the 25 step procedure. , @@cozy1. I'm glad I found out the reason for your ACR software being required in Step 8. If you don't use it you have 2 WEM files with gibberish as names and the toolkit needs two names, one with the suffix _preview and your software takes care of this nicely. Admittedly I am still learning the ropes at opening, fixing and repacking a CDLC but I've made a few observations that may provide alternatives to some of the steps you listed. 1. Perhaps this is new since your 19Nov2014 post but I've stumbled upon the Toolkit "Import Package" button which seems to accept a PSARC as input and then you select a folder to extract all the PSARC artifacts to. The folder will contain a TOOLKIT folder with all JSON (tones), WEM's and Album Art, and an EOF folder containing the OGG and XML files. Whether it is better to follow your Step 2 and 3 above, I don't know yet. 2. When I use the 25 step procedure above, I noticed that everything works great except for one thing, doing Step 14, everything seems to load up, but if you look at the tones, selecting each one, individually and pressing the Edit button, you'll notice the name of the tone is present but none of the amp/cabinet, rack,pre-pedal, loop pedal information is available. In fact the toolkit won't even let you change the volume and type ok and instead one needs to click the "X" at the top right corner of the dialog box to close it... the volume is the nominal -12 and not the value of the original package imported, same with the scroll speed of each arrangement which reverts to 2.0 speed instead of whatever it was originally. My workaround to get the tones right is as follows, both ways work fine: Method 1: Anytime after Step 3 in your procedure you can Click IMPORT button in the toolkit, select filetype as JSON and go in the /MANIFESTS subdirectory where you unpacked the PSARC and get the JSON tones file you are interested in. Now the tone will have all the amp/cabinet, etc.....& volume information that was missing by just loading arrangements in Step 14 Method 2: If you go in the toolkit and click "Import Package" in the Creator tab, you load the PSARC file, specify the desired destination folder and then you go in that folder and open the Toolkit folder, set the filetype to JSON and select the JSON tone file you want to load into the toolkit. Again, all info and volume from the originally unpacked PSARC will appear unchanged. I am really grateful for your procedure because it gave me the courage to attempt fixing a song I really like! I just wanted to share the challenges I faced and how I resolved it. Thanks @@cozy1 and thank-you for all your helpful tools!!! P.S. A long time ago @@Chlipouni explained something to me (if memory serves) about the transcription track being populated being useful if ever one wants to take a CDLC with DD from DDC and refresh it with a newer DD based on a new version of DDC.... I think that's what he told me. So That's why I asked yesterday about ticking that "SNG to XML" check box since it seemed that ticking it took away the maximum difficulty charting found in the Transcription track in the XML. Whereas unticking it seemed to populate the TRanscription track, leaving me confused about when one should strategically tick or untick that box. I guess I'll research a bit more.
  8. Chlipouni I cannot say thank-you enough times for everything you do for us!! You are a generous soul! One well note-synched song that is not beat-synched is Alexander The Great by Iron Maiden in case you want to test another song. One song that is well synched but has RR problems on most but not all its sections is Kiss -Crazy Nights. Can select and slow down some sections but not all of them in RR. Immgr started a thread on these problem songs and theorized that this happens when notes at the beginning of a section occasionally unsync while charting. I tested it in DDC and DDC resynched the notes and the RR then works fine, but then if I reapply DDC to remove DD, then the RR problem returns, which I found odd. So I say this because maybe the scope of your BPR software is designed to fix this occurence....? Merci!!
  9. Hi cozy, Great tutorial! Regarding Step 2: Check box "SNG to XML" Considering I never ticked that check box before reading your procedure in this thread I decided to do a back-to-back check of what this checkbox does, and though Notepad++ Compare plugin shows differences in xml files being due to differences in number of decimal places here and there as well as some differences in some miscellaneous fields and with some Score Attack tags (heroLevels), the main difference seems to be that when unticking the box, the Transcription Track is populated and ticking the box empties the Transcription track. Can you help me understand what is the strategic use of ticking or unticking the check box for your procedure in this thread and in general. Can you remind me when one wants a transcription track populated or not? Thanks!
  10. I've developed your aversion to arpeggios notation in RS2014, Plum. Especially for a song as fast as finger-style MacGyver. Tried arpeggios and it was a mess. Then SmellyOrc and raynebc suddenly swooped in with this brilliant handshape timely idea/feature. I prefer no chord name with clean look than a messy look with chord name. I just gotta be careful not to over-use the new handshapes-marking feature. I even started using it for a sequence of notes with same handshapes but with more than one note on the same string in the marked area (even if it was just a pull-off) but then I decided to remove the handshape-marking for those instances because the fingerprints in-game would show the fingering at the beginning of the marked handshape and possibly confuse the player when different notes on the same string but in the marked area are to be played. raynebc's comment to me yesterday about notes sounding out in an arpeggio (and by extension marked handshake) being implied makes me wonder if I should refrain from the new handshapes-marking feature when I don't want the notes to keep ringing out to be implied. Just want to make sure there is a universal understanding of when this handshape-marking feature is to be used. I guess since handshape-marking is borrowing from the in-game notation of a sustained chord, it only makes sense that this new handshapes-marking feature applies only when it is intended to let the notes ring essentially replacing the arpeggio notation and removing the need for sustain tails. Or are there other instances where the new handshape feature would make sense. Perhaps implying no ringing out unless a sustain tail is added by the author. Just asking to make sure I am on the same page as you guys.
  11. If the XML file is showing the desired chord name, I'm stumped. Maybe some old files were being used by the toolkit or something? Handshape feature does not make chord names appear in game... Thanks raynebc. Plum is right. As per your hotfix 1363 release notes you did state that marking a handshape with CTRL+SHIFT+H results in a chord highlight but without chord name on the side of the note highway. So the behaviour is expected. Hopefully one day we'll figure out how to add the chord name too.
  12. Hi tron I tested the Soprano flute with the same setup as violin and Rocksmith detected notes. I did have a caveat that I needed to play differ notes than those charted in order for the game to register them so there is still some testing required to figure out that transposition bing logic but theoretically my guess is that any instrument emitting a discernible note pitch will work with this method. Just need to play near the mic and adjust the RS cable gain setting to cater to how inherently loud or quiet your instrument of choice is. The challenge is making the RS interface helpful to play the wind instrument. The game displays frets but maybe a clever use of a custom inlay may help make the interface helpful for the alternate instrument. I'd love to figure out a convenient piano custom inlay. Have fun!
  13. Hi raynebc! I missed the excitement of getting stuck, posting a question followed by your generous speedy help that allows me to make a better custom. Thanks again. Question 1, Linknext works perfectly! Question 2, Though I've followed your procedure for edit name, the name has permanently changed, but in-game nothing appears. So I reloaded an previous version of my custom with B7sus4 labelled in EoF. I notice now that even then the B7sus4 label didn't appear in-game despite it showing up in EoF. Strange behaviour. Plus the XML's before and after the change seem to show it working. Before change (B7sus4) <chordTemplate chordName="B7sus4" displayName="B7sus4" finger0="-1" finger1="1" finger2="2" finger3="3" finger4="-1" finger5="-1" fret0="-1" fret1="2" fret2="2" fret3="2" fret4="0" fret5="-1"/> After change (Esus4) <chordTemplate chordName="Esus4" displayName="Esus4" finger0="-1" finger1="1" finger2="2" finger3="3" finger4="-1" finger5="-1" fret0="-1" fret1="2" fret2="2" fret3="2" fret4="0" fret5="-1"/> Any ideas why it won't show despite showing in EoF. If not, I don't want to waste your time. There are worst things than a chord label not appearing. Thanks again for your eternal helpfulness!
  14. Hi all. Long time I haven't posted here. I miss it but have been following as much as I can. Please allow me a few questions. Question 1: Well I'm back authoring a new CDLC (MacGyver Theme Song) and I am having an issue with the fingerstyle bonus arrangement (Part Real_Bass). I am wondering if I've encountered a bug with the new handshape marking feature of Hotfix 1363 or if there's a better way to author what I'm trying to author. Any help would be welcome. It occurs at measure 16 at the 26.4 second mark. I've linked to my EoF file and posted an image of my exact procedure followed that generates my issue. http://www.mediafire.com/download/b2wxi1iwsvdedkl/notes.eof http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/Marked%20Handshape%20sustains%20curtailed%20issue/Markinghandshapes-sustaincutailingproblem_zps64a06bca.png Question 2: Again for my finger-style Part Real_Bass bonus arrangement of the MacGyver song I am basing myself on an excellent YouTube video and though it is a small detail, the 1st notes of the song, an arpeggio I model as a marked hansahpe, are automatically labelled as B7sus4 but the YouTube video I wish to emulate defines it as Esus4, which I also happen to prefer since there is no F# in my chart which a B7sus4 would require. So I followed the procedure improvised in the following image to tailor things to my taste. But my overriding tends to get forgotten by EoF. I don't know all causes for it forgetting of my overriding but simply scrolling later into the song and left-clicking somewhere else in the chart without doing anything else will do it because when I scroll back I find the label as B7sus4 again. I realize this function is found under the "SONG" menu which suggests it's not meant for individual chords and may not be the purpose of the feature, but then again the function won't work unless I choose a specific chord. So I am wondering if it is 1) a bug 2) not doable or 3) doable by another way which I haven't figured out. Any thoughts on this override being forgotten? I'm getting the impression this feature is meant to be applied to whatever chord is selected and applies that to the entire song, which is the reason it appears in the SONG menu... In the same project linked above, this occurs at 3.9 seconds. The overriding or the chord label I attempted intelligently occurs for the other instance a B7sus4 which reoccurs at arouind 10.4 seconds but alas, they are short-lived since the overriding disappaears without warning. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/Marked%20Handshape%20sustains%20curtailed%20issue/Alternatechordnameissue_zpse160d89b.png Edit: I do get the same issue with a chord name I didn't even need to customize in the chordshapes.xml. See the last chord at the end of the 24th measure (I show it in the following image)? It is labelled as G. Then when I do Song>ProGuitar>Next chord name, the labelled chord name changes to G5/B which is the label I actually want (since G is not the base note I in the chord I am charting) that EoF intelligently automatically determined as an alternate label. Point is the issue seems unrelated to my customization of the chordshapes.txt file. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/Questions%20for%20CF/Marked%20Handshape%20sustains%20curtailed%20issue/Alternatechordnameissueanotherinstance_zpsa8b1e0d5.png Question 3: Ran out of time. I will ask my other question later. --> Nevermind. Can't seem to reproduce it anymore. Thanks for your attention.
  15. As I mentioned to you earlier: amazing. I am attempting to get my violin set up like you did. Just experiencing some tuning issues. I PM'd ... you about it. I think you are the pioneer of a whole new movement: bass, cello, viola, violin, ukelele. Perhaps we don't even need to limit ourselves to string instruments. Maybe wind instruments are possible. Imagine playing Baker Street on the Saxophone in RS. As I have shown you I have gotten the acoustic guitar to work in RS. Plays with 100% accuracy!!! Here it is again. Remember I suck at guitar still so the misses are only due to my poor playmanship. Imagine even a harp. I swear I'd rent or buy a harp just to try that. The possibilities are endless! Imagine the piano! Woh, piano, that is huge!!! Once again brilliant work Daikano! I see a near future where there is a section on CF dedicated to "Other Instruments in Rocksmith". This is huge!
  16. Finally read this whole DDC forum section and updated DDC web site with new DDC categorization information introduced in DDC 2.4. Very impressive work yet again chlipouni. Thanks so much for your dedication and helpfulness!!
  17. Yes post as a tutorial please. I would've saved some time a while back if this was available. It never ceases to amaze me how well equipped we are to make CDLC. From the tools to the tutorials to the helpful members. What an amazing community!
  18. Hi everyone! First, an immense gratitude to those of you who are taking our passionate hobby to a whole new level. The level of sophistication and improvement of this site and of Ignition is remarkable. I hope the site admins, mods and developpers realize how truly thankful we are. Thankfulness across a moniter/keyboard is not always palpable but it most certainly is omnipresent, I am sure. I thought I'd share my work flow to underline what I love about Ignition and share some thoughts on tiny possible improvements. I understand I might be in the minority, but every month I spend 5-6 hours obsessively making sure my CDLC collection is up-to-date and complete with all the latest new songs I fancy by (1) reviewing every forum post "preview" of the 1400+ CDLC I follow (only those posted upon since my last monthly review) to make sure I have the latest version, (2) downloading new songs, and (3) renaming the files. This month, with Ignition Beta it only took me 2 hours (if I ignore the 10 hours it took me to go into every single dedicated forum post page of the 1400 CDLC I have and "Follow" on the "Click here to view records" page, in order to unleash the power of Ignition. :) ) My new procedure with Ignition: 1. Nightly browse, now in Ignition. "Add to collection" whatever new CDLC released that I expect I'll like. I also click "Save for Later" to remind me to download it later when I have time. Also I check the little red number in the top right of Ignition in my Avatar indicating notifications of updated content. I click that and whatever songs have been listed as updated I "Save for Later" too. 2. Then I go into the "Submitted CDLC" forum and for every CDLC added to my Collection, I find the topic and go "Follow the Topic" too. (To be aware of comments about each CDLC ..... yup I get lots of e-mails daily ... :) 3. Even if I didn't do Step 2 above, which I think most people don't, I still need to go to each post in the "Submitted CDLC" forum in order to be able to press the Thank-You button since I cannot thank from the "Click here to view the record" page accessible from Ignition. 4. At the end of the month, I simply mass download the 50 or so new CDLC I "Save(d) for Later", keeping the CDLC status as "Save(d) for Later" so I can easily find all the infomation in Step 5 below. 5. Though useless in-game, I rename the files in the following time-consuming but helpful format so I could always know from a glance in Windows Explorer what features each song has and does not have: IronMaiden-HallowedBeThyName-Snake3169-v.2.0-RS2014PC-RR-DD-Lead,Rhythm,Bass,Vocals-Estd-ACESHIGH_p.psarc6. One by one I "Remove from Saved" each CDLC in Ignition. 7. Move all the new CDLC into the /dlc folder making sure to push aside (move elsewhere) duplicate copies from another charter. 8. Play song (eventually :) ). 9. Search for the song in the "Submitted CDLC" forum and leave feedback and/or "Like" the topic. I wish I were more diligent with this last step... Love you all! So I am quite content with Ignition in that it has more than halved the time I spend updating my library instead of clicking hundreds of forum buttons scouring version numbers in the forum and in my /dlc directory checking they match or not. Aside: I'm now aware that in those 6 hours I spent monthly, I was idiotic enough not to realize that "Follow" instead of "Follow Topic" would've alerted me of CDLC updates and the time saving I now experience is not all new to Ignition. I'm sorta embarrassed to admit this but hey. But Ignition does further refine the process. So in the 5 or so hours I've spent with Ignition Beta (in Firefox) in my latest CDLC library refresh I have the following suggestions that you can feel free to disregard as they are mostly cosmetic and not too important, which is a tribute to how well thought out and clever your work has been: Priority (IMO) 1. In order for the community to thrive with dialogue and for charters to remain motivated I think it is important to introduce into Ignition the ability to press "Thanks" since it is not available inthe ""View Record" page.. Low Priority 1. Ability to resize the columns 2. Ability to show more than 100 items per page though admittedly the load time from page to page is lightning quick. Nice job!!! 3. Ability to defaulting to all Artist (or however the list is sorted) trees collapsed or un-collapsed. Perhaps can add a button to Collapse all entires on page and Uncollapse all entries on page. 4. Add an optional column beside DD column called RR column. Sometimes charters don't include RR and in such a case I'd like to know to stay away from or leave feedback on that CDLC. I would also add an optional column for Custom Tones, Score Attack as well as Azrael's suggestions for Multitrack and Metronome. 5. Ability to apply the same action to multiple CDLC entries. Ex: "Remove from Saved". 6. Ability in the Forums (Content I Follow page) to toggle on or off to "Follow" a CDLC. Currently this feature only allows single/multiple CDLC toggling of "Follow Topic" from Daily to Instantly to Weekly to Not at All etc. and nothing about "Following" (i.e. following only for updates). I do see a "Notify Me of Updates" option which I tried toggling on for a given CDLC, but going back to the forum and checking that CDLC post in the "Click here to view Record" page doesn't show me as a "Follower". 7. No need to refresh page to see changes made: Ex: "Remove from Saved" could make the entry disappear from this view as soon as "Remove from Saved" is pressed. 8. Perhaps allowing users to choose to share or not share their collection contents is useful. Example: I've realized that I like pretty much every musical taste of SmellyOrc, chlipouni and Jazzie, and many others' too so I could discover new things by seeing what they have in their collection. Some might feel exposed by this so it would be good to have the ability to turn off sharing in one's personal settings. Or perhaps anonymous following takes care of the exposure problem. Bugs: 1. When I click on "FAQ" on the bottom of the Ignition page it is not a hyperlink and cannot be selected. Same for "Submit Issue" and "Rules". 2. When clicking on the left-most icon for drop down menu and select one of the 4 options, say, "Add to Collection", the dialog box doesn't disappear and one must click outside box to make it disappear. Once again, I think you guys are awesome!! Thanks for all the hard work!! I wish I had the know-how to pull-off what you guys did. Of course if you have a better work flow than mine, then please let me know. By the way I've noticed from Ignition that we have some quite prolific charters with more than 100 CDLC to their name. Staggering! Kudos to you! Shakman828 355 Antithez 206 Shinyditto12 200 JazzD & Soilman 179 each PCPlum & Xstatic 165 each benixix 154 smirocsmo 142 Sirandok 134 UKLooney 129 Nacholede 117 YLedbetter 113 Brooklyn_Sounds 110 Wow you made it all the way to the end of this long post.... :) ...Happy New Year Customsforge!
  19. Bonjour Chlipouni, I just noticed that when you clilck on a song in Ignition, it opens a window with song info and 1/3 of the way down it says something like "15 people have it in their collection". You wish has already been considered. :) Bonne année!
  20. Oops, I did forget that didn't I? Fixed! Thanks Snake!! Regarding sections not showing up in Powerslave, normally sections do not show up in RS when there are too many of them like > 80ish or 100ish or something. Never explored the exact number. But you said you tried only 2 sections and got the same problem!?!?! When you tested that had you also removed all the phrases too? If memory serves, too many phrases may do that too. Not sure. A bunch of friends of mine and I are currently trying to one-up one another on your newest Hallowed. This is a fantastic CDLC!!!! Thanks for making my favorite song get the royal treatment!!! Happy Holidays!!
  21. My fingers were crossed for this!!! Why oh why must I be away from home and in the impossibility to enjoy trying this. Can't wait to open my best gift when I get home!! Thanks to everyone involved!!!! Feast well tonight!
  22. Yes. 6 hours per month to keep my 1000 CDLC refreshed. What helps is to "follow" each song I have then go to "content I follow" so whatever I follow is all listed in one list. Then it is one at time clicking the preview icon to check the current version of the custom and working down page after page after page until i reach the last comment date that precedes the last time I did this 6 hour exercise. What is older has presumably not been touch. Custom Song Manager couldn't come soon enough... :)
  23. Hi sfix and CF members in general. Sorry I did not have the time to post this earlier, but I've been dreaming of what you are gloriously achieving. Just by your benevolent choice to offer this you and your team of developers are truly great people and whatever you will bring forward will certainly be amazing and a huge time saver!! THANK-YOU!!! So you ask about interface proposals so I propose one here as a smattering of ideas and integration with CF web site, however without knowing what exact features you will be providing it is hard for my screenshot to not be a veiled feature request... :) I hope you understand. Here goes. Hope this helps. Obviously this has been assembled with little or no knowledge about interfaces and could use considerable polish, but to get my thoughts across I just assembled my ideas in an Excel spreadsheet and made the image below. Here is a Dropbox Link to the PNG picture in case you cannot see what is in this posted image below. Dropbox Link Sometimes Dropbox Links don't seem to open so here it is in Mediafire: Mediafire Link http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForgeStuff/PostSongManagerInterfaceIdeaonCF_zps5253c10e.png
