  1. Finally, I think life has settled down enough to allow me to participate more regularly. I just managed to squeeze this one in...
  2. A fair number of these selections seems to have vanished?
  3. Not my best outing, but it will have to do for this week:
  4. Here's my first (and probably only) run through for Boys of Summer: I don't think I had anywhere near the accuracy that is indicated in the score, but there ya have it!
  5. Just managed to squeeze a bit in for this week:
  6. I only had time for one sight reading this week:
  7. After a 2 or 3 year hiatus, I have finally decided to get back into the swing of things. A lot has been going on, not the least of which is our recent relocation to Blois, France. I decided to start off with beginner bass, since that is where I was way back when. Didn't fare as well as I thought I would on this one, but I probably won't have much time to improve it:
  8. Thanks for the response, I understand. If I thought it would do any good, I would give the folks at RS some feedback and ask for a bit more consistency.
  9. The toolkit validates and changes the "&" character in the artist sort field to "and". Rocksmith retains and sorts using the "&" character. Reference: Bob Marley & the Wailers Removing this validation will allow Rocksmith to sort correctly.
  10. They seem to be inconsistent very often when it comes to things requiring a bit of attention to detail. As it is an accepted and widely used practice to stylize names and titles, capitalization and punctuation should never be 'validated' for them. For example: "B.B. King" should be listed and sorted with the periods (note also that it is stylized with no space between the "B."s) "a-ha" should be listed with no capitalization and should be sorted with the dash included "KoЯn" is a tough one, as it can be difficult to reproduce and alphabetically place the "Я", so most likely will always be listed and sorted as "Korn"
  11. Not ironic at all, as this sorting and cataloging convention has been the industry de facto standard for many, many years. <Song Manager><Custom Mods><'The' Mover> appears to do exactly that. I'm not sure how I missed that. Thanks!
  12. Should not the sort for the artist name for the song grid be able to ignore "The " at the beginning of the artist name (ie, "The Beach Boys" sorts as "Beach Boys"). I could be OCD and change the artist names myself, but editing song info for official DLC is not allowed, so they will always show up in the grid as "The XXXX"
  13. Thanks! and thank you to all of you that responded and provided more info as well...
  14. I don't see this file anywhere in the Toolkit directory?
  15. The artist sort field automatically moves the stand-alone letter "A" to the end of the field with a comma. Is there way to turn this correction off so that artist names can be sorted correctly; ie, "A Flock of Seagulls" instead of "Flock of Seagulls, A"?

  17. Finally, managed to get some time this week. A few go-rounds on bass: http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/8cd3/ppytjtt4ztc957tzg.jpg http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/64f4/j41qef5amz2pp74zg.jpg http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/a92d/2vyhwtqogmu2ff1zg.jpg
  18. My comments pertaining to the "Extra Comments" posted on my entries in the Song Selection List “Dave Brubeck Quartet; Take Five: Boring lead, and very boring bass - 3 repeated notes thoguhtl song) The bad choice for CS.” Might not be so boring for beginners. Although the bass line is mostly only 3 notes, maintaining a steady rhythm of 3 good notes for that length of time can be a challenge and an exercise for beginners. “Antônio Carlos Jobim; Águas de Março (The Waters of March): The song for acoustic quitar” Is there something wrong with playing acoustic guitar? I tried to come up with some selections that are different, interesting, and in some cases suitable for beginners. At any rate, I thought the selections were meant to be my choices for selections in the rotation when my number gets called. I'll be removing my bad, boring selections now.
  19. I find myself in a very similar situation, currently kicking our business out of my office and rebuilding it as working man's wannabe music studio. I have opted to go with 2 DAW's, REAPER, mainly because I like their "if you're not making money with it we'll give you a break" licensing policy, and Ableton Live with their innovative Session Mode (the Ableton Live Intro seems adequate to start and won't break the bank).
  20. A slight improvement.... http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/71be/dpjw9ccglhznjjwzg.jpg
  21. The same was said of Bebop back in the day. Come join us at BlueNote Jazz Cafe and we'll see if we can't promote it a bit...
  22. I use that one a lot too. If the "It Fell over and broke" doesn't work, I can fall back on the "Our four dogs chewed it up". :D seriously... hope it works out fer ya!
