  1. Thanks for the Mac versions!
  2. I posted this in the other thread (these should be merged if possible), but I will post it here as well:
  3. For those having issues with songs not showing up, how many total files do you have in your folder? Of those files, how many are official dlc, and how many are customs? Also, are you waiting for the game the enumerate the content? Every time you start the game, RS has to build the list of songs and it does that AFTER you've pressed "enter" to go to the main menu. You will see a grey box in the top right corner that says "Enumerating Content". It can take anywhere from 1-45 seconds, and possibly longer, depending on the number of songs in the folder. You can view the list of songs at any time even when it still says it's building the list, but only those that have been scanned will show up. If you're looking at the "Learn A Song" list while still enumerating, you will hear a "bloop" sound as new songs are found and the list will grow longer. If enumeration has finished and the songs still don't show up, try removing some old songs that you aren't playing any more. See if that helps, as there may be an unknown limit to how many songs RS can load at any one time. You can always add those songs back later when you decide to want to play them. To avoid crashes, conflicts, and corrupted saves it's a good idea to limit the number of cDLC you have in your dlc folder anyway. Also try using the Toolkit to reapply the AppID (Cherub Rock or whatever you own) as that helps sometimes as well.
  4. The other problem becomes, many artists release material that falls under several different genres. Sometimes within the same album. As mentioned above, it just becomes a jumbled mess. Plus it leads to arguments and unnecessary trolling. The first time somebody lists a Green Day song as Punk, all hell will break loose.
  5. LOL... Me too. I also get the "Play 3 New Songs" mission over and over again, usually followed by the always entertaining bonus mission of "Play 2 New Songs".
  6. I would stay away from those torrents completely. Most of the songs have no tones (crashes the game) and many other problems. A lot of them can be found here anyway.
  7. If you use DD and start with only your index finger, or any one finger in particular, of course you'll have to start changing the way you play as more notes appear. You aren't using the right root finger, or rooting your hand on the right note. But for official songs, and well done customs, the game will tell you where to put your fingers. Look at which "lane" the notes are on, and use the corresponding finger. So if there's a note on the 17th fret of the B string and it's in the third lane, use your ring finger. If the next note is in the 4th lane, use your pinkie, etc, etc. So... Lane 1 = Index finger Lane 2 = Middle finger Lane 3 = Ring finger Lane 4 = Pinkie finger
  8. One day, somebody will invent a sarcastic font.... It should be like italics, except slanted the other way. They could call it Sarcastica.
  9. If only you could do that with tabs... You can, with Guitar Pro. You can pause, rewind, and slow down any part of the tab. You can also loop any section you want so you can repeat it as much as you like. You can even use the "speed trainer" function and get the same functionality as Riff Repeater.
  10. Yeah, I know. I've made a bunch of suggestions and requests for changes that never come about. Some people care more about uploading content in quantity, and not quality. There is off course a way to do it yourself, but it can be time consuming depending on the original work done. You have to unpack the psarc file with the Toolkit, open the xml files in EoF, create the sections (which could cause conflicts) and then repack it. It sounds fairly easy, but it isn't always. I haven't had much success doing it myself, but I'm a Mac user and I'm never sure if the problems I run into are a result of the original cDLC file, or compatibility problems with the Mac versions of the Toolkit and EoF. I'm giving consideration to buying a cheap Windows laptop so I can get into creating some customs myself. (For those who may mention it, I'm not a big fan of Bootcamp, Parallels, or Crossover. My Macbook is a Mac, and I'd rather not sully it by putting Windows on it. :P )
  11. The preferred way is to leave a message for the charter asking them to add sections. That way it's updated for everybody. I agree though, all songs should be broken up into proper sections, whether they're easy or not. As a side note, I once wrote a 5 page run-on sentence while serving detention in high-school. The teacher did not think it was as funny as I did.
  12. What browser are you using? And on Windows or Mac? What's your setup (laptop/desktop, screen/monitor size, resolution, etc)?
  13. Did you read the Tutorial: http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/ Do you have the most current .dll installed correctly (for PC only)? Or the most current RSInjector app (Mac only)?
  14. Try reducing some of the visuals in RS. Go into the settings and turn down the graphic quality, and turn off some of the extra graphical stuff (crowd, etc).
  15. I agree. For me, the "OK" hand formation works the best. I know RS recommends a "loose fist" but everybody is different. I make the "OK" with my thumb and index, and leave the rest of my hand open and loose. It helps for playing fast progressions with power chords because you can anchor your hand by putting your pinkie (and sometimes ring) finger on the body of the guitar just under the strings.
  16. Wepeel, if some songs have only PC how do i convert it so that it is MAC? And are there underlying or continuous problems that i need to know about so that the game runs smoothly and with no problems The instructions for converting are in my above post. As for problems, I don't seem to run into nearly as many as some other people. Here's some tips: Keep a backup of your RSInjector app and all of your customs in a separate folder. Make sure you run Steam in online mode (connected to the internet) so that it can back up your save files and Ubisoft profile. Always exit the game by going to the main menu and clicking the "X" in the top right corner. Don't Command-Q. Make sure you wait until the Auto-save operation is complete before exiting the game. You will see the auto-save icon (spinning reel-to-reel tape machine) on the right side near the middle of the screen when you go back to the main menu. Always read the comments posted by other users before you download any songs. Take note of any issues they comment on. Also, avoid anything that has comments like "missing custom tone". Those will crash the game and corrupt your save file. Read through this thread and avoid using any customs that are still listed as having problems: http://customsforge.com/topic/4863-list-of-crashers-jammers-dead-toners-and-misc-problems/Don't add a large number of customs to your dlc folder all at once. Add them a few a time and make sure they all work. Sometimes it's hit and miss with customs as to whether they'll have problems or not. You can redownload or re-convert them to see if it fixes the problem, or notify the charter of any issues you come across. Until you have a grasp on the "in's and out's" of customs, I would suggest you limit the total overall number of customs you keep in your dlc folder altogether. If you're just learning guitar it will help to keep you from getting overwhelmed by a large number of songs to try as well. I suggest sticking to 20 or so songs at a time. You can move them in and out of the dlc folder and keep your progress inside the game. There are a few customs posted where there is 2 or more versions of the same song. Avoid putting them in the dlc folder at the same time as it will crash the game. If you want to try a different version of the same song, exit the game, remove the first version from your dlc folder, and then add the other version. That's all I can think of for now. If I think of anything else I'll update this post.
  17. If you're using PC, make sure you have the most current .dll file installed in the correct directory. If you're using Mac, make sure you have RSInjector and that Steam is installed in the default directory.
  18. Have you tried re-applying the Cherub Rock AppID? I know you said it already has it, but sometimes re-applying the ID makes them show up. Also, try adding them to your dlc folder 1 at a time to see if it's one particular cDLC.
  19. What I mean is, you don't start Rocksmith as you would to play normally. So, instead of opening Steam and starting Rocksmith through Steam, you just open Steam and then run RSInjector. RSInjector will open Rocksmith for you. This will allow you to use the cDLC.
  20. Glad you're making progress! Doesn't it feel good?? Makes you just want to play more and more...
  21. Very interesting... I've made over 20 requests through Ubisoft, so far only 1 has been released and obviously it was not just to appease me. Good thing requests work much faster here ;)
  22. I use Dropbox and a small third-party app to keep my dlc folders synced. You can't natively sync folders outside of Dropbox, but the app allows you to create symbolic links to the dlc folder, which then uploads the files to Dropbox. Using the same app on my desktop, I can then sync them there. That way everything is synced automatically and I don't have to worry about deleting, or waiting to copy every time I switch computers. I just sit down and play as if I never switched.
  23. Any search that has 0 results. For instance, search this topic for "halloween" and you get a "The page cannot be found" page, instead of a search results page with 0 results. It bothers me as well, because you have to hit the back button to get back to the actual forum.
  24. Maybe try disabling one of the outputs? Maybe they're conflicting with each other or Rocksmith doesn't know which one to use.
