  1. Yeah, the fact that tech notes are problematic after import is definitely not EoF's fault because bends in GP are already a mess. Even there I'm never quite happy with the way bends look in the tab or sound in playback. Thankfully it's pretty easy with EoF to work out these issues. At least this way you can proof your determination and show how dedicated you are to your work. That has value in itself and it also helps you to find issues in the tab that you might otherwise overlook.
  2. I always thought there already was a shortcut for LinkNext and I just didn't knew it. Guess, I was wrong. Thanks, raynebc. Great update. One question: What does the GPA import improvement change in practice? Does it place the anchorpoints more accurately now or is that just to avoid any possible errors on import?
  3. I've never been satisfied by the way bend tech notes get imported into EoF, so I always erase them and place new ones manually. I honestly think that it's absolutely necessary to put in that extra work even if it can be tiresome with songs that feature lots of them. Guitar solos in general are always a lot of work because you need to fine tune exact note placements, slides, bends, ho/po's, etc. Making yourself familiar with tech notes is important if you want to give your custom the necessary touch to get it from good to great. :)
  4. If I knew what it was, I would consider it. :) That said, I always have stuff I want to do + less and less time, so even if I say yes, it might take a while. Others may be it faster.
  5. Tab pro files are just the same tabs as those available for free. The only difference is, that you can access them online which makes it easier to figure out what tabs are actually useful before downloading one. There's some other stuff you can access as well but I never really looked into that. Btw, I never actually paid for the membership, I just uploaded my tabs and got lifelong membership for free. ;) A better source for tabs might be mysongbook.com which belongs to Arobas, the developers of GP, and has a nice selection of complete GP files, although I can't vouch for quality. There's some drawbacks, like not being able to export the files to GP5 or change anything in the file itself, so you would need to make a new GP file and put in anything manually, to get a version that's usable with EoF.
  6. Arobas, the developers of GP, have a site called mysongbook.com where they sell tabs for GP and I saw that they had complete tabs for most of the Blind Faith songs. It may be worth a look although you can't change anything in the bought tabs or export them as GP5. You can however export them as PDF, afaik, and use that to get the changes into the other version you have.
  7. Jammit lets you listen to the isolated tracks ( and only the ones you buy) but you have to use dedicated software to do that. There's no way to export the isolated tracks but theoretically you could record the audio output with another software to get them. I used Jammit for "Perpetual Change" and it was extremely helpful to have the isolated tracks. The tabs are solid although not always as good as one would expect but overall it's definitely an option for making customs and even multitrack customs.
  8. I have thought about appropriate tones as well but haven't yet come up with anything that would fit the bill. It definitely needs to have some fuzz but the solo tones often sound like they just use distortion. It will take some experimenting to get it right, I guess.
  9. Cool stuff. I never listened much to COC but I like them and if you want I could do "The Door" from the Wiseblood album. I will work on it as soon as I've finished up my next project. Just send me the tabs via PM.
  10. I think raynebc already said that his intention wasn't to make boxes be deselected by default and that he'll fix that. This seems to have happened by accident when he made the intended change.
  11. As far as I know, you can't move the lyric line markers. You have to remark every line manually. It's a pain in the ass but that's how it is. :(
  12. There's no way to mute the guitar track in RS because neither official nor custom DLC (with a few exceptions) uses multitracks, so it's not possible to blend out a guitar or bass track that you are playing. You'll get used to it and if it is too loud for you, you can always turn down the song volume in the mixer, so that the instrument sound will be a little louder in the mix and you can more clearly hear what you are doing.
  13. I agree with Alex360. Stick to charters you like and give feedback if you want better customs.
  14. Pack #8 is out now and it's the first of possibly three Wilson Pickett packs that I'll release in the course of this project. The other two probably won't come immediately but eventually. I want to keep things fresh. http://www.customrock.net/Forum/images/smilies/icon/biggrin.gif
  15. Pack #7 is out now. Enjoy some classic Gil Scott-Heron tracks with some amazing bass lines by legendary studio musician Ron Carter. Links are in the OP as usual. Fyi, I honestly think these are my best customs yet. ;)
  16. This is a known bug in the newest release version. raynebc already said that he's going to fix it with the next update.
  17. All of Fela's London Scene is now available. Links are in the OP. I'll continue to work chronologically so let's see how far I get. Next up is one of the few live recordings Fela released and he's had a special guest star on that one: Ginger Baker. :D
  18. Another Afrobeat pack for this week's release (I wish I could change the title of this thread to reflect the expansion of genres  ) and at the same time the start of my Fela Kuti Discography Project. Nothing difficult about this at all but a lot of room (and time) for improvising and having a great time. I'm not sure how regular my future releases will be but I try to get something out at least all two weeks or so. I also try to do work on some more challenging stuff.
  19. http://www.okayplayer.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/finding-fela-hue.jpg Inspired by watching last years documentary "Finding Fela" (which is streaming on Netflix btw), I slowly started listening to his entire discography and was really enticed to bring his songs to RS and because the parts of the rhythm section are really easy to transcribe, I thought I'd work out all of his songs eventually. I am starting out with bass transcriptions because I'm most comfortable with that but I plan on adding guitars and vocals at a later point. Anyone who's interested in helping can provide transcriptions for the guitar parts (either as a simple ASCII or a GP file) or txt files of the lyrics, created with the Ultrastar Song Editor. I'd appreciate any help I can get. :D Discography: Fela’s London Scene (1971) J’Ehin J’Ehin 7:26Egbe Mi O 13:15Who’re You? 9:30Buy Africa 5:50Fight To Finish! 7:25 Live! 20. From the frosty Motown Christmas Hits to the hot rhythms of Afrobeat/Fusion legend Hugh Masekela (who also was under contract with Motown for a while): Pack #5 is available now and even if it doesn't quite fit so neatly into the project as everything else up to now, I still hope it satisfies your need for bass this week. Enjoy.
  21. You can either put the tab you have into GP and then import the GP file into EoF or you could put the tab straight into EoF after you created a working beat map. I personally would prefer using GP because it's easier to check if everything is correct and you can use it for other things as well but that's up to you.
  22. How the hell did I not know this already? Anyway, that's an even better solution. Thanks for the info.
  23. So the tick event adds a tick sound to the audio file of a project that is saved with EoF? Nice. I didn't know that. I'll have to do some testing then. ;)
  24. Much improved. Thanks a ton, guys. Merry christmas.
  25. A way to add a leading metronome beat based on the time signature to the audio file would be sweet. Songs would then be able to start similar to songs in Rock Band and the player would know what kind of speed she/he can expect.
