  1. Okay let's unpack a lot of myth in there. Watts isn't actual sound power and don't actually allow you to understand the amount of distortion the power amp adds. You can't draw anything from the watt value except what it will actually show in your electrical bill. Any other info you think you can get out of the watt power are too dependant on so many other part of the design that it's useless to compare. Logitech are known for good PC hardware, not for good audio hardware at all. In fact all i've seen regarding Logitech audio design is that they know shit about it. Also spoiler but a subwoofer is largely counter productive depending on your room and if you don't know how to place it in it. Active monitor means that they have the power amplification inside them so you don't actually need any third party hardware for them to work. The thing is that third party hardware can be practical to have proper plug and it also means more cable since each monitor needs the audio input and the power plug. "Near Field" isn't as near as people think you can easily be a few meters away without issue. Yes, the triangle is the suggested setup for stereo monitor, that's how it is if you want a proper stereo (or you could ignore it and put the two monitor side by side and have it more mono style if you so desire). Regarding splitting to an amp, it depends on deep you want to go into sound reproduction. If you don't mind having only 5 or 6 different tones that will fit most situation, it's not that much work. If you want to be as precise as RS with all the nuances in between song, well you are going to spend a whole lot of time for it then. That side note is the best reason why i wouldn't trust logitech, that data means jack shit since it lack any proper information regarding how it was selected. You can see on JBL spec that it indicate a +/- 3 dB margin. Which means that at 49Hz, you've lost 3 dB compare to the nominal output level (half power if you prefer). On the Logitech spec, that indication is lacking so they could have just chosen a -6dB or even a -30dB margin for that number. Also the JBL are just standard monitor while the logitech set comes with a subwoofer and that kind of reach in the low end is ridiculous for a sub.
  2. Watt means nothing if you don't know the driver efficiency (how much watt is actually making sound and not just heat). As a general rule, monitor are way more likely to be properly designed to offer the best sound possible. It's not about color, it's about proper design. All studies done so far indicate everyone tends to prefer linear response (flat) to anything else when doing proper double blind test. There's no real difference of purpose, one is for listening, the other is for listening. Just that one is sold to random consummer that have no clue and the other try to aim at more informed user. At the moment the best monitor at reasonnable pricing are either the JBL 305 or the Line Pine from Kali Audio. Mostly because they are the only with viable third party test and spec.
  3. "-(minor) Consistent 'miss' markers" Disconnected mode won't display any miss marker though. I think it's largely more important to see how the chart is. If there's a good amount of work spent on the chart, i don't see any reason to doubt that the tone won't at least be somewhat fitting. And tone can always be switch if the user feel it's not good enough.
  4. @@GeePee29 It won't get back as far as we can expect. From what we know Ubisoft killed it because it caused strain on their server which where impacting all users so they filtered out CDLC from their server.

  6. Yeah but i'd be careful cause the BT version of the M50X seems worse than the M50X on quite a few important area (not by a big margin though but still) https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/audio-technica/ath-m50xbt
  7. @@michigan0626 Avoid BT at all cost for RS. BT can't offer less than 100ms of latency in its current state and should be avoided for any latency sensible situation. As for finding good headphones, i can only suggest to search through https://www.rtings.com/headphones they offer the best most scientific and complete review you can ever think of.
  8. Why do you ignore the area for compatible audio? You still have to indicate to the toolkit what audio file to use, it's just that the toolkit will automatically handle the convertion to the wem format for it but it can't guess what file to use.
  9. The CDLC closing like this is usually an issue with the audio wem file. Did you used wwise yourself for the convertion? If so, don't. Let the toolkit handle that part for you.
  10. They can't get rid of that branding for legal reason. They already said that they made it as small as legally possible on the logo for the remastered, going further or getting rid of it entirely would just put them in a legal mess.

  16. He did have gone through a sabatical but he hasn't changed job titles : https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianadammccune He himself didn't call it a step down and he sure isn't a "dev", he moved up in Ubi SF community management. Your appreciation of the guy on stream doesn't reflect on his capacity to actually do his primary job that is community dev though and he never worked for Red Storm and i can't find any information regarding Red Storm Layoff in 2018 so i'm not sure what information you base that on unless you have inside information you would like to share. It's true that twitch audience have gone down from previous year but they don't struggles to break 100. they've constantly hit above 100 views on every single stream this year https://sullygnome.com/channel/rocksmithgame Sure but that's only a partner, one amongst a few and not one that keep on sending goodies or offering element to give away. I'm not sure how you can evaluate the impact it has on Rocksmith without being an insider of any of the two company at this point. It doesn't mean that a single entity inside the industry can't perform well or even decently though. Even Ubisoft across all their IP can have variation in performance. The industry isn't an indicator of RS own performance. Please enlighten us to their sales number and how they are incapable of generating a profit with the current price point of DLC? You are not an Ubisoft employee so it's information you are speculating upon nothing. It's not that you are wrong, it's just that baseless remark like this in the attempt to skew the perception toward your opinion is counter productive for everyone. It's a lesson they've learned the hard way, mistakes happen and idiot decision can be taken everywhere by everyone. It was indeed a dumb move on their part, no one will disagree with you here. Regarding Ubisoft vs Yousician, it's a patent issue. The patent was legally issued in Nov 2017 and they started the procedure to sue Yousician in August 2018. It's impossible to tell how far this will go and if this will even result in anything important but the fact Yousician was only sued now is simply because of how long it took for the patent to be issued in the US.
  17. @@mimen17 you could use the RS to tab and then use GP or tuxguitar to get a midi file.
  18. @@coldrampage Latency issue with TV is more often caused by the way TV treats the audio signal over HDMI than anything. TV process the video part of the signal and they know how much time it takes to process it so they delay the audio signal by that amount to keep both signal in sync. It's great for watching TV/movies but for gaming it can become quite problematic. That's why gaming mode exist where most of the digital processing of the video is cut down to the minimum which can offer latency value under 20ms for good TV but in audio sensitive case that are music game it can still be slightly too much. At this point the best solution is to avoid the TV when it comes to the audio part which can easily be done by going through an audio receiver that will manage the audio signal while sending the video part back to the TV.
  19. Note sure where you got that assumption from though. A vast majority of RS player use the RTC and have had no issue with over 6 or so years. It's the simplest, safest and best option to play the game really. As for Microphone mode, you can user it in many different ways than just using an actual microphone. It works with any interface capable of 16 bit / 48kHz resolution. As you note though, depending on where the signal comes from, it can be extremely problematic for RS. There's a lot of technical specification that will matter and will alter you result (as would adding effect to the signal like an amp distortion) that makes this situation a lot more complicated than one would think at first sight. This brings me to what a few people do with their setup, they split the guitar signal, use the RTC on one output for RS, use the other output to go to an amp. This way you get both a clean signal to RS and your amp sound without many trouble that you would get with trying to pick up the signal in the middle of your usual signal chain.

  21. @@gwbuiter No, this is a bug that can happen and only a restart will fix it.
  22. GHTV had a subscription model, the game just died and server are shutdown making that part of GHL totally useless. As Raynebc said, RS isn't a party game and it isn't meant as one either and their market is clearly people that want to learn guitar unlike RB. That's not necessarily right. The file have to be accessed from somewhere and if the file are stored the way they are today, then it'll be even easier to pirate ALL the DLC, just take the subscription once in a while and you get all the file to alter for your own convenience. I doubt the infrastructure to have the file not stored locally would be worth it and it'll be worse for people with limited internet connection.

  25. @@Motorheadbanger That's a limitation of how RS detection is done but if the player prefer to cheat, i doubt he is in a mindset where he wants to really nail that riff perfectly either. I know that try to follow indication as closely as possible and RS does a great job of evaluating my playing. What other do with the game don't alter my own expericen with it and i won't adjust the way i use just because some prefer to do something else with it.
