Let us know your opinions on the accuracy of the difficulty scores (1-10) for this week's songs.

 

Interesting week. I've already played almost all the selected songs, but I don't have too many screenshots. And from what I remember, I rated Bass in Have a Cigar at 6, so this rating seems pretty high, but I played it a long time ago. Lead is something between 7 and 8.

Looking at the leaderboard, I can see that ShankD played a streak of 551 notes (with Goo Goo Dolls). The rest of us with 100% only got 547 notes in our streak. The score is much higher than mine anyway, but it seems we've played some different versions. 😄 I've found the picture. It looks legit... 😉

Yeah Have a Cigar is tricky and the bends and hammer-ons take it up to a 7-8 for me. I played it back to back with Paschendale (which had been rated as an 8 on bass) and found Paschendale markedly easier overall. I do agree that RS note detection may be part of the challenge.

Played before for testing. I assumed it was a 4, but due to the difficulty of finding CDLC for beginners on Lead it may be 3.5.

Chord detection problems, but I'll try!

I haven't played this for a long time and now I beat my previous score right away, that's great.

 

Here too, but am I the only one who has problems with accepting bends on the 3rd fret of the E string?

I just finished and posted my first CDLC a short time ago - Desire Lines by Deerhunter. I would appreciate any feedback from my Championship friends.

I'm on vacation this upcoming week, more of a working vacation (taxes, doctor appointments, the usual stuff we ignore during our 40 hour work weeks, yay) but it still means I can focus on the songs a bit more. Excited about this week. Some cool diversity in terms of genres and styles. I took a stab at Have a Cigar and ended up at 73% I think after a few tries. I definitely agree note detection is the big challenge on this track but I feel reasonably capable of playing it based on my own judgment which is very cool. 

Haven't messed with the Noel capo track, my poor strat is starting to show fret wear so I need to decide which guitar I want to subject the capo to. Perhaps the Meteora. 

Life on Mars? We'll have to ask Elon Musk in a while. But I had fun with my Gretsch Junior Jet short scale bass!

Looking at the score further above on "Life on Mars", I think I need to work more on hitting the note at exactly the right time. I got 100%, but a lower score. Must be timing.

Hey y'all, just gonna drop this here as a general still alive notice. Had a shoulder injury at the start of the month so only now getting back to being able to play 1-2 songs relatively pain free. Will probably not be contesting any masterclass songs any time soon at least 😛
