  1. I have a lot of scores from testing that I need to collect and upload In the meantime I did another run of Moonshield. Maybe 8 is too much, but that was the original rating. Anyway I always loved this song (but I chose it not by the liking, but because it was one of the few with a MC rhythm rating and an adv lead, so suitable for this case)
  2. This week is over, thank you for competing!!
  3. With a pinch of improvisation here's the new week! As usual I combined the randomness with the completeness of tracks in paths (to have fewer songs), the quality and the presence of different music styles and selectors, not giving everything to get difficult songs for every path. So it's a pretty easy week (and an unfortunate mix of tunings, sorry) but if you do 100% with a breeze, you can always try the song on the next level! As always, we can change on course anything doesn't work (errors, songs, missing scores..) Some notes: Some tones are unbalanced inside the songs but nothing major Rammstein has roughly the same lead and rhythm, and not so challenging for intermediate (a good riff anyway), so I thought it was a good thing to put a different more challenging rhythm, and I choose the one from the Avenged Sevenfold (=A7x). My other selection was Scumbag by Green Day, also pretty easy. The A7x "Coming Home" rhythm and Gojira rhythm have the same rating, but I think that Gojira is less classic in the playing style so I preferred to keep it on the advanced rhythm. Also, curiously, Gojira was selected by two people (!) The A7x has a good and I think equally difficult alternate track. I think that's also more funny to play, but I want to hear from you if a switch between the tracks it's worth it Fascination has the no-guitar and the no-bass track, and it's a blessing when there is one because as you know it's really only you playing the instrument when you don't have the track under Moonshield came to rescue for MC rhythm, so guitar MC has a pretty challenging week if you combine the two tracks. I don't know if you bassist prefer to have something more challenging on MC, please let me know!

  5. new week starts in a hour or down there, post your last scores!
  6. I liked it The Black Keys are love or hate for me, but I liked this one! Obviously even fast pentatonic section are too much for my sightreading
  7. I don't think I can squeeze much more on this, between the tricky parts of the solo and some unexplicable misses on the palm muted open E string
  8. probably I can get to 94 or 95.. but there are some parts of the solo that needs too much work to be played well
  9. I finally paid my dues to the mighty Guardians!! 99!
  10. better. there a couple of small sections on the solo that I really don't understand and like
  11. @ Zoutje wow that's a looot of submissions! Great job!!! I got to 97, now I want the 99+ on this!! Blind Guardian are distracting me from the Metallica mc song, but hey I can't resist
  12. ahh my beloved Blind!! as usual my terrible sightreading (the first was the submit long time ago, forgot everything) but I want to get this to 97+ I think some rhythm parts are not so easy (quite fast) but rocksmith is very generous on these. @ Mikson @ Zoutje Blind Guardian are underrated, they have always good (dual guitar) lead and acoustic sections, always fun to play Uuh Metallica, with new songs. I also more on the old Metallica, but hey I never refuse anything from them. I don't think it's way more difficult than Blind, it's right there for me
  13. For bass you can leave it blank, or if you wanna, you can emulate it with the guitar (I do the same) and then evaluate the difficulty like the guitar but thinking that everything requires more effort on a real bass. My opinion of course
  14. Yes you need to put them here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HzgY90kLwyGqzJ-R64v8lmpeQMMhhxwGwUlenepIgms/edit#gid=6 Don't worry, evaluate the difficulty thinking at the hardest part of the song (i.e. if a song is only power chords but impossible solo, it gets 8 or more anyway) The person who will do the selection will verify the songs and balance the score A personal suggestion on how I do it: look at what accuracy you got when you play the song. Seeing that you are similar to me, like masterclass, (but with better sightreading), you can say: if I get 95-99% is intermediate, in the 90%-95% is advanced, from 80% to 90% is mc (7.5-8.5), under 70% is a 9 or 10. Ranges are indicative, just to get you the idea, YMMV
  15. I think it's my final score for this week! mc rhythm, just showing up
  16. welcome!!! wow a lot of newcomers in the advanced/masterclass group!! Love it, we will all improve a lot more with more contenders!!!
  17. improved, and I like it more than on the first hearing.. probably it's a song that needs to be digested I unexpectedly like the tribute a lot! Ah the A minor pentatonic!
  18. Thanks, I'm happy you discovered such a gem like this competition! How did you find about that? CDLC with dynamic difficulty off (those with 100%) are not excluded, you get the right accuracy. CDLC are verified by the week creator so you'll be fine. And, don't worry to post multiple times, or to achieve whatever great scores. Just post it when you play a song, even if it is the first time and you played it poorly. If you want get the vibe, look at the past weeks and you'll understand. Surely you will improve by participating! I understand how it feels a bit confusing when joining the first time because I've discovered the championship only in April 2022, but you will catch on right away.
  19. Oh welcome! I'm also on the official song spotlight on reddit (and I remember you!), but here you will find more songs, more people, and I can definitely say a lot of fun! Rules are a bit complex at first sight, but my advice is to try to play and post scores for a couple of weeks and you'll get it! Look at accuracy, not absolute score (as in the spotlight), post the screenshot pasting the link. Both learn a song and score attack scores are valid (obviously on learn a song with difficulty 100%). Enjoy!!
