  1. New Buckethead customs for this WE ? Best Birthday present I ever received, Friday the 13th is my birthday, no kidding. :D I'm currently working on Pike 86, Our Selves, the first Track. Feel free to experiment with my tones, I changed Smirocsmo's tone in the Patrolman.
  2. I appreciate your thread, and I'll support it the best I can. I've currently made an inventory of all available tabs, about 230 and I'll check them for accuracy in the next days, to see what I'll do next. Bucketfel is a hell of transcriber, I hope he will continue his greatly appreciated job. There are currently 54 cDLC, not only Pikes.
  3. ultimate-guitar.com lists "tab pro" files, which have often better ratings, but can only be accessed/displayed with a paid membership. Does anyone have subscribed to this, and are the tabs really better (i.e. earth heals itself) They also give a lifetime membership for about 35$, so no big deal, but I would like to know if anybody made good/bad experience.
  4. I confirm that this happens randomly often, so often, I ctrl-c copy my post. Unluckily the auto-save is empty after sending the post which doesn't display. I noticed that reloading the page gives you back the auto-save content. Strange... Sometimes I have to retry 2-3 times, sometimes it's impossible to send the post, after many trials. I thought it was a browser problem, I use Opera.
  5. The solution seem so obvious to me in Guitar Pro 6, you have the option in file menu to "import" ascii, all you have to do is correct the bar duration as many ascii tabs have errors.
  6. Another major cDLC which doesn't get an update is Izzy's Wish you were here, Pink Floyd It seems to have an issue of missing sections at the beginning and to many later on.
  7. Fingerings and Arpeggio's are the weakest quality aspects of RS releases, specially when charters don't (really) play guitar. No offense meant to charting Bass players ;) It often starts with Tabs created by people who don't (really) play guitar. It's not only placing fingers on the right note, a same note can be played on different strings. Real guitarists are lazy, called economy of motion. If they can hold all the next notes with a chord (arpeggio), they won't change most finger positions. If the next note is close on another string, they won't move hand position. If they bend a string, they prefer bending with the ring and middle finger on higher frets, than with the index on fret 1 or 2 It's all about anticipation of what comes next, considering tuning and scales. It would be great if some tool wizard could develop the limited option in EOF, by an external tool which applies the rules in an automated process. (like the DDC) This way thousands of cDLC could be corrected, ... including my own. B)
  8. You bring me sunlight in this cold winter night, :) , give you double-thanks There is still a tiny problem in LaVilla..., the acoustic tone doesn't kick in, only after a restart of the song, maybe it's a simple sync on beat/phrase problem too. Major Topic, I would say, maybe time to check back those Stone Roses cDLC from UKlooney, which never felt right.
  9. In the "old search", it was possible to click on a name (album, song, charter!) to get this name filter out. That is lost in ignition, and the main reason why I use the "old search" However the selected value filtered this value for all columns, which gave some weird results I would recommend (if possible) a switch for a "Filter mode", which allows adding several filters to narrow the result of queries, by clicking on values in columns, which only apply on the selected column.
  10. I'm long waiting a correction of Rush' La Villa Strangiato which has probably to many sections to make the DD and Riffrepeater work correctly in RS In fact no bars are shown in RS. I'm not sure if this problem is intended to be considered by your tool.
  11. Read my first lines, I said phrases are sub-elements of sections : in the picture http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/b167/25dmq383jhocdg2bg.jpg?size_id=4 The block between the blue brackets is a 1. section, containing 5 phrases Then 2 sections (with 2 phrases) Then 1 section, with 3 phrases, containing a phrase already found in the first section. Obviously you can have a same pattern of notes (phrase) in the intro and the verses (section) Literally speaking, you can have the same phrases ( :D OMG, WTF :D ) in different paragraphs of a topic. Anyway coolethan1, this topic is for advanced users, start publishing your first cDLC, after 5 you will see the light. ;)
  12. Maybe I'm too old for changes, maybe I'm too melancholic for old stuff, but I dislike Ignition. It certainly has some advantages, I can't really see which. Still no quality votes for the chart, I can't set a column width, so I have this stupid date in all letters that covers partly the number of downloads... Maybe it's my fault to stay with that old Opera Browser 12.16 What a mess to get to the charters page, can't set a comment like in the old days, some pages are simply dead, must be somewhat frustrating for charters to get no feedback. Ignition gives me the feeling of fastfood, all flashy colors, serve yourself and leave. What a pity.
  13. If you want a real good dynamic difficulty, you need to be interested in the structure of a song, in the repeating patterns, in the linking bridges between different parts. No video can teach you that, you only need to be interested in music, I did this long before doing a cDLC, specially with Rush songs, but I wouldn't recommend Villa Strangiato to beginners :D . Try Pop songs instead, you can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him drink. B)
  14. Yeah happy new year to Buckethead, and another 50 pikes albums
  15. Buckethead, what else, there ain't no other guitarist

  16. Showing his level of mind again, our moderator the females are supposed to get inserted by a male on both sides :D
  17. Everybody knows when it comes to guitar play, you must be able to play an acoustic. It's harder to play than an electric. So I found a cheap way to connect to Rocksmith, which works amazingly well with these two items for less than 20€, Acoustic pickup female to female connector there seems even an offer to have a 2nd Rocksmith cable, the 3 items for about 30€
  18. I would say Wishbone Ash, is anybody aware this band produces great guitar songs since the 70ies up to 2014. Thanks to Joe2112 for giving us three early songs. Andy Powell is a great prolific artist Listen to that instrumental only release : what a pleasure this would be to play that guitar and bass on RS
  19. I have two FFDP , Hard to See and Bad Company in B Tuning, it's 4 string because I didn't have to use the hi-string, works fine on my 5 string bass. There is also a discussion of the way to achieve B-Tuning, but recognition is not so good with emulated bass unless you have thick strings.
  20. For songs I like to memorize, I use FRAPS to make a playthrough, and a videoplayer (with stop, forward, backward, slowmotion, range play) to learn all parts without music in Amplitube, memorizing and automizing finger movements. No need for Riffrepeator or RS anymore, as I can rip videos from Youtube too. LOL It also helps concentrating on metronome rhythm, and bend, strum up/down correctly. I used RS 100% in the beginning, now with all free lessons available, and knowing RS flaws to make you progress, it has gone down to 10% of my guitar play.
  21. Can't believe it, no Africain friends, the cradle of music.
  22. What I ment to say, Pebber Brown also offers you personalized online teaching, if you want to pay, but at least you see before what you get. www.guitarmasterclass.net looks quite impressive too.
  23. Yes, Jamplay looks great, but there are a lot of good free lessons on youtube, and when you have made the tour of these, and reached a decent level, you can consider paying for online teachers. Just check the great lessons of Pebber Brown, who not only adds documents to his videos, but he is one of the rare teachers that corrects your technique before you even start to play. I'm working on his Caged 5 position system video (one of 600) for two weeks now, I posted the link here, somewhere in a video thread. He's also funny, maybe not intented, but funny nevertheless.
  24. Not sure where to post this : Importing a cDLC package. Does the files for EOF contain all note status, like arpeggios, which I've found went lost in the procedure?
