  1. @@dsmccullough - As was said above, p.sparc files only work on a PC, and m.psarc files only work on a mac (so while the official dlc purchases download both, it's totally unnecessary). Based on what you have said it sounds like you're playing on a mac.
  2. @@Jefbyos - Based on the missions that I'm familiar with, and your translation of this mission, I'm guessing it's the "level up a phrase" mission. I think doing so either in riff repeater or through playing a song well without the phrase levels being maxed will count. Obviously you'd need DD to be enabled to do this one.
  3. As I can find no official comment on this or any of the related topics yet... @@Unleashed2k, @@Teinashu, @@firekorn: What is going on? This issue was first raised over 4 days ago now From what I can tell, this issue first appeared over 6 days ago (the last unaffected update I can see is this one). On the 17th, @@Unleashed2k posted a "Test" to Ignition on the 17th (and thus seemingly should have known of the problem). On the 18th we've had a short downtime that was unannounced but (some time after beginning a tweet announced it as routine) that didn't fix this problem. As it stands, this issue seems very similar to the previous problems which preceded the forum rollback. As it stands, I am also not aware of any "official" comment on any of the related threads from any members of the administration or even the moderating team of this site. This is an issue that affects one of the core functions of the site, and I'm sure many members of the community would greatly appreciate some response to the many threads that have now been posted on this issue. I realize that this isn't anybody's full-time job, but the lack of communication on this subject is quite worrisome at this point.
  4. @@Fyres - The updates are still affected. While they still show the popup window, the date of the last update is no longer current, and the text displayed in the "Author's notes" is not updated. For example, from one of Tysylio's updates, the popup has an update date of "9/28/2016" despite the fact that it's just been updated and in its entirety says Whereas the actual record page also has "Updated links, removed NDD links. 20/03/2017" appended on the end. @@Unleashed2k - Any comment on this? If I recall, this was one of the problems leading up to the recent forum rollback.
  5. I think this is what you mean: http://ignition.customsforge.com/search/artists
  6. @@Berneer - When I was talking about handshapes, I wasn't necessarily talking about the handshape function in Rocksmith, but rather handshaping as in getting specific fingers to specific frets and keeping them there. On bass you can play probably 99% of things while only knowing and using the power chord handshape (especially common in Iron Maiden stuff). It's pretty unusual to have to use anything other than that. I think having the handshapes makes things a bit easier to read (not necessarily sightread, but digest when you're going through it more slowly when in riff repeater). That said, when you're getting used to playing bass in Rocksmith there can definitely be a bit of a freakout moment when you see arpeggios or handshapes for the first time (I remember my reaction when playing the solo section of The Trooper), but I think almost everyone would agree that once you get used to them they're very helpful. Put an alternate way, they might make a sightread somewhat harder for some people, but they make mastering the song much easier. As for basses having fewer frets I think there are a fair number of pretty common models that only have 20 frets (jazz bass, precision bass, Rickenbackers, to name a few everyone will know). By barring the 16th fret I mean playing the high B at the 16th fret of the G (which would be the only real way to play it on a 20 fret instrument up there, as it doesn't seem very feasible to fret it another way ). For my preferred handshape, I think I held the power chord shape with 1-2-3 and then used my pinky to reach the high notes. If I barred with my middle finger my ring finger had a tendency to get in the way (otherwise that probably would have been my preference), and of the other configurations I found it most natural that way when having to "pivot" to make the stretch to the 16th fret and return from it. I wouldn't be very surprised if other people disagreed, though.
  7. With that section of Stare At the Sun, I'd agree that the way it's charted is roughly the best way to play it (I might disagree about some of the fingerings, but that's another thing). If the 11-16 stretch is a bit much I'd probably either try moving it to the E string (16-21, or if you don't have a 21st fret barring the 16th and playing the high note there). It's a fairly tricky riff, but it's mostly in the handshaping (which most bassists aren't especially used to) since the plucking pattern is fairly simple and familiar (root-fifth-octave then mostly raking). Anyway, here's my best go at it, after a bit of practice on that riff: http://i.imgur.com/mz9EGA0.jpg
  8. @@raynebc - My point is that in a track with a capo, you're able to set notes that will be above the 24th fret, because the fret number displayed in EoF becomes rendered as that fret number plus the capo fret number. In the example I mentioned, a 13th fret note with a 12th fret capo would need to be displayed as a 25th fret note in game. I could even make a 24th fret note, which would then want to be in the game as a 36th fret note (and which shouldn't really ever be possible on any track with a capo). Does that make sense?
  9. @@raynebc - Oh. Forgot I changed that in the tab so I could hear the bass a bit more clearly at one point when I was making it and must have imported sometime when I had it on. Thanks! Edit: In that case, should EoF not warn about notes that are at the 13th fret or higher (or more generally, above Max Fret Value - Capo Position)? It seems that I can place notes as high as the Max Fret Value at the moment.
  10. @@raynebc - I just had a weird problem on a song I was charting. On the bass track, when setting FHPs it won't let me generate an FHP 10 or higher (screenshot), thinking those number as exceeding 21 for some reason. This seems to apply throughout the whole track, and I haven't seen anything like this on any other path of any song that I've charted recently where I've set FHPs (with both 1-29 and 2-9 versions tested). Files are here.
  11. Sorry for my absence - things have been pretty busy for me in real life. I'll try to get caught up on most things tomorrow (February 5th). In the meantime, enjoy a few new songs that I'm releasing!

      MAGGERS

It's fine bro, I'll just wait for your awesome work.

      Hopefully everything is ok

  12. Updated with some of the recent uploads. Going forward, there are several songs that I'm confident of being able to finish reasonably soon, including Reality Dream II Under the Pillow Towards the Blue Horizon Escalator Shrine The Same River While I'm working on getting those finished, I'll be updating the ones that I haven't added lyrics to. If there are any tweaks that I should do to them (other than, as I mentioned, probably adding vocal lines to guitar on We Got Used to Us, possibly as an alternate arrangement), let me know and I'll see what I can do!
  13. Been busy with moving, Christmas, and some silly internet problems. Will try to get caught up on things by tomorrow!

  14. This score's definitely beatable, but I figured I'd encourage Joker to practice a bit. http://i.imgur.com/XvuOsio.jpg The song is probably doable in master-mode without too much trouble, but I don't think I care enough if it comes to that.
  15. I figured it was time to get started on this page, so here goes. I can't say I really have the intention of doing every song listed here (particularly as many of them have no resources available), but I do hope to finish a majority of their stuff. 16. Yeah, a noguitar section should display as a normal section (a segment of the yellow bar), but with no phrases (the purple towers) and it shouldn't be selectable in riff repeater. Can't guarantee that the last one is true from a screenshot, but it looks normal to me.
  17. @@Morrows - Regardless of the dll you're using, the songs should show up (but not necessarily work) so long as you have the "App ID" of the custom matches the App ID of a official DLC song that you own (or there's not a conflict with other CDLC, but this shouldn't be a problem as you just have a few). This screenshot of yours seems to that the custom songs that you have (visible in that window, Alter Bridge - Cry of Achilles and A Perfect Circle - Passive) have the App ID of 248750 (which is Cherub Rock) and not that of Linkin Park - Numb (which looks like it's 295090). I'm not sure what's going wrong when you're trying to change the app ID, but you'll need to fix that (or save yourself a lot of trouble and just buy Cherub Rock) before you'll get the custom songs to show up.
  18. @@SkullRock - There was a post recently on reddit.com/r/rocksmith where normal things didn't work but they were able to get their cable to work by changing their profile. Annoying because it loses all of your stats, but if it gets it to work, it's worth trying.
  19. I think it just repeats that last four measures as it fades out, so you should be able to copy/paste that for as long as you want (though it looked like things weren't beat synced, which will complicate things somewhat. You should learn how to beatsync - there are multiple guides on how to do so in the Tutorials section). Anyway, long fadeouts like that don't really work well in Rocksmith since there's no natural way to let your volume fade out like that. My suggestion would be using something like Audacity to cut off the audio a few seconds after the audio level drops a few dB below what it is throughout the rest of the song. Then go a few seconds back and do a quick fade out to the end of the part you'll be exporting. Using the time stamps in your video, I might have the chart end at about 4:05 (when it starts another repeat) and fade out by the 4:10 mark. I also often use adjustable fades to "undo" the fade outs somewhat, but that's a more laborious process and harder to explain. Lastly, I think there's some untabbed stuff that's going on during that riff that plays in the intro and outro... Sounds like the bass is playing some chords in the second measure of the stuff with open yellow strings. Don't think it's a big deal if you can't figure that out, though.
  20. Though it's not the specific error you're getting, I'm pretty sure that 2016.x versions of Wwise aren't supported yet. You can get older versions from the first drop-down menu here.
  21. @@raynebc - Are we close to getting a solution to the transpose issue being fixed? It's pretty annoying and it's been two weeks since it was first brought up. Also, if it helps, I notice it behaves a bit differently with chords. If I take a power chord and shift it up it only "forgets" the lower string (the base of the power chord). Similarly, if shifted down it only forgets the higher string. With chords involving more strings only the highest and lowest will be forgotten.
  22. Edit: Seems that the new update hasn't broken customs, so I've edited out the content of this post.
  23. I was working on "A Tale That Wasn't Right" and noticed that the title sort was changed to "Le That Wasn't Right, A". A little bit further testing seemed to be that it always removed the first two letters of the word following "A". Also, If the song name was just "A b" it would throw an error that startIndex is larger than the length of string. Same goes for artist sort. If I had to guess, the code for dealing with titles beginning with "The ..." was repurposed but wasn't modified to deal with "A" having two fewer letters. Also, just on a broader note, is this in keeping with official practice? I don't think I have any DLC by "A ..." groups (A Day to Remember, A Flock of Seagulls, and whatever else there may be), and I don't think any official songs start with it. But it might be slightly confusing if the ODLC and CDLC are forced to sort to different locations.
  24. I'd actually been meaning to update Eagle Fly Free for a while, so I just did. The main arrangements are now "true" lead and rhythm paths (so lead has all solos, rhythm has none but has the lower harmony), with the previous lead and rhythm paths as alt lead and bonus lead. If you'd like to continue with the current paths since this update comes midweek, I also made a version where the old paths (plus some fixes) can be score attacked, if you'd prefer that. It's available here.
  25. @@raynebc - It sounds like that would fix the issue where sometimes the notes and FHP move slightly off beat and when resnapping notes the FHP get all messed up, so I'd definitely be in favor of that. Possible downsides that I could see are if someone pulls an individual note that starts an FHP past other ones or something like that (but I don't see much reason why that would be done). Otherwise, I find it hard to see much reason why this would cause problems. On a related note, would it be possible to have (possibly as an option that can be toggled) something where if you copy a set of notes with FHP and paste them that the FHP move along with them? This isn't a big issue, but there are have been a few instances where it would greatly simplify the process of producing accurate FHP. Also, would it be possible to make it so that lyric highlights get copy/pasted along with the lyrics (particularly for multi-line things like a full chorus)? I've found it more efficient to copy/paste them than trying to tidy things up individually for each chorus, and if the highlights came along with the paste it would streamline the process even more.
