  1. always good to see a week by nblm cause that means steel panther will be up XD Played this one before and considered recommending it so glad it go on here! fun song/chart Dont know much about ghost, havent really liked previos ones on the competition but this one was good bass one was kinda hard to read cause of improper anchors/old cdlc fun! Very nice song! definately keeping this one, never heard it before but i really enjoyed it. Really challenging which is always a nice surprise with bass. Kinda late to this weeks unfortunatley
  2. Havent gotten used to my new 7th string guitar yet. keep thinking im a string below than i actually am lol. Glad to see tame impala this week! would like to play more of these songs in general since scores a re pretty low but running late for work.
  3. Havent had much freetime but luckily i was able to go through some of them ei this is one of the songs i did to 100 for the not a fluke achievement in rocksmith years ago. Always considered putting in the suggestions but since i always had issues with the slides to 100 constantly (seems like i still do) i didnt put it. but i enjoy it. yea good song. ty altho its discoish lead guitar does get pretty crazy towards the end. nice song more difficult than usual which is always nice.
  4. @ Argh1992 yea because of the upload limit i tend to upload the screenshot on imgur (website, i think there might be an app aswell) and the get the link and paste them here.
  5. Glad you enjoyed it and did that to you! As for random thoughts, i personally enjoy reading them think it makes the weeks more memorable. I think you are absolutley right that game players actually care alot about the music in games, cause it can be just as good as movie scores and since you are spending more time on it it'll get stuck with you for longer. Same, i remember as a child orchestras would also feature soundtracks from both medias. So it made me kinda chuckle to read that that was cosidered the lowest point xD especially since monster hunter is/was pretty popular (never played it) but according to steam charts it had over 329k people playing it at its highest peak.. to put that in perspective, rocksmith at its highest peak has only been a bit over 4k, which really surprises me. I decided to watch the movie cause i had nothing better to do.. I think she just had the passion to keep on doing it regardless of the circumstances..In the end it didnt matter who the audience was the only thing that mattered was what emotions it proveked them to have...which ig is also why the movie just focuses on the build up to one event rather than multiple ones or a collage of them. Thought maybe she was gonna change a bit since she threw up at the message area but it would be a bit rushed...and her soloist was also female so...idk kinda left a distastefull tatse lol As i was writing this it brought me memories of a movie similar to this one, that i had erased from my mind on purpose xD called tellstar the joe meek story. It has james corden (uk late night tv host) as one of the actors i forgot that he was in it though. Based on a true story and it happened on a road i used to walk on every day called holloway road. But yea not the happiest type of movie xD as alot of musician movies tend to be.
  6. Eiii! Grats on the promotion! I think you and i are on the same level ish so the future will be fun! Ooof yea i also am nowhere near the video cant do that on the bass...also wouldnt consider myself a masterclass but jelly thought so...so here i am xD but challenging songs and more participants in the class is always more exciting i think
  7. Eii like they say..No one truly escapes runescape, you only afk it for longer periods.. haha On the same boat as you, yt and my phone from time to time randomly recomended me rs videos and i got stuck in that rabbit hole for a while. Hence why i decided to try to tab some songs out... just to act like i did something proactive/ maybe would help me or others out with the guitar
  8. Very interesting and cool that one of my psarcs made it into the competition, thanks!! I would've never expected that. The Ian taylor songs are from a multiplayer / role player online game called runescape that i used to play alot as a teenager ( kind of like world of warcraft + skyrim..but worse graphics..and that being said ive never played those 2 but i think that gives an idea of what it is) . It might be a niche thing,..i spent months or i guess really years on that game (back when it was extremely grindy, so much so that it could be a job in some countries, now theres double exp weekends so its not as bad but still more than your average game) so the songs in there are ingrained in my brain and bring alot of nostalgia. Surprisingly enough when i have travelled around the world I somehow manage to meet people that have played it, so thats always nice. about the psarc : i must admit the bass going up an octave kinda tricky...(mostly cause the part is supposed to be on a synth) maybe i shouldve put an oct pedal instead... i did tab the rhythm path a bit awkwardly..theres definately easier ways to play it (or atleast for an initial sight read) lead ive 100 before but maybe it could be changed aswell. I didn't move my pc with me unfortunately only kept my 12 year old mac. I tried to fix it with this computer, cause i want to, but havent had much luck since its kind of outdated and rs charter (mac) is relatively new/still in development. but yea just thought i should mention it.
  9. Really enjoy this song both listening and easy playing lol the fast bass in between surprised me. nice int song prety challenging fun bass line progression reminds me of a song...think its either piano or an electronic song.. but its a sad song...slower cant find it or think of it . Anyways, surprisingly pretty hard for it just being 3 chords...guess its the speed and the flourishes.
  10. Finnally finished moving! really want to play this week before it ends hopefully i can post something tomorrow. i tried playing for awhile with headphones but the new aptm has paper thin walls... when i play they knock sooo XD its going to be interesting how do this from now on. im guessing since its kinda late they just want to sleep which is understandable. hopefully its just a night issue and i wont have issues tomorrow morning but who knows xD
  11. @ luckyoldme oh i see..yea i myself dont change the format just cause i was always getting an upload exceeded on here. i use imgur ( website) all you do is sign in (i make it so it remembers passwords cause too lazzy) and then you drag the photo in imgur.com/upload and right click on the photo to get the url -> paste url in the competition. but it might be more steps than what you currently are doing (since you are saying old ways are best). you can also change the format in the photos application (from windows 11comes default on the machines) if you open it there..you just press save as on the foto and then change the format. but if you already got it to work in paint then there really isnt much difference i dont think.
  12. cool song, gotta say it is one of the toughest advance songs i've played here in a long time ( for guitarpaths atleast) really glad we don't show video recordings here cause on my end it sounded like a dying animal lol. Also probably will be my last post since im moving stuff out and then traveling etc. But it was fun!
  13. is this a cover of an old song? reminds me of one in beatles era ish dont know the name though wanted to see if i could play it without looking/ master mode. there was more ear candy parts than i rememberd. solid begginers path imo yea i need for practice with barred c shaped chords didnt enjoy the lead path as much as the other 2 Enjoyed this more than the lead main riff was kinda tricky for me lol. but yea i think its a good challening song for int. tempo change caught me off guard. aaw... i was kinda hoping the song would be the difficulty of the first riff lol. lost a note after and then gained 350+ notestreak so i think its an easy 1150+ note streak. just the intro that is kinda tough cause i think it fluctuates in tempo but i might be wrong.
  14. @ luckyoldme by size do you mean the weight /mb of the picture or do you mean what appears in the photo size (aka maybe your playing in windowed mode and it takes a photo of your desktop aswell)? if its the latter you could try doing the shortcut for screenshots for steam (itll only ss the game) . i have it set to \ but it might be different on your computer. you can figure what it is by opening steam - steam button /menu - settings - ingame (looks like a screen with a control) - scroll down to screenshots- screenshot shortkey ( there you can place whatever key you want) you can also change where the screen shot is saved in that menu or if you have a windows 11 pc with a keyboard with the windows icon you can press window key + alt+ printscreen (should just take ingame photo) or windows key + g ( this will open an overlay with lots of options) go to capture. This will make a pinable moveable box appear on your screen (i like to pin it but you dont have to) click the camera to screen shot. it seems like you figured it out though so good job!
  15. i mean we both agreed its not advanced level so...xD Also i l give you credit for predicting there not being a 100 percent last week, that surprised me.
  16. @ jellisjenius oof i think i've had this conversation before haha. Well yea, generally speaking i wouldnt compare lead to bass. I would however, compare rhythm to bass since sometimes it can be the same path just without chords in rock/metal/ pop / guitar centered genres. In this case, i did compare it to the lead since this one doesnt have a rhythm path but does have alot of rhythm sections that are similar to the bass . I don't think doing so is too outfield, it's not comparing two completley different instruments like piano and drums or piano and guitar ( although honestly if you are good at one you can kinda pick up the other one easier but thats not the point) . I mean in some places they even call it a bass guitar. I do understand not every bassist owns a guitar or would want to play the guitar or vice a versa, and i respect that. But if they were given one, it wouldnt be like he/she would have no clue on what is happening . Granted there might be some techniques that one side would be better at than the other like finger picking for bass or some skills like chords maybe for guitarist but they still would manage to play, i think. All of that being said, I also do understand that bass can be almost like 1.5x bigger than a guitar( or atleast the one i own is, kinda makes the guitars look like a kids toy) making some riffs like w/m aka 1 skip note 1 skip note 1 (3, 5, 7) harder to play (that's not the case here ) cause its a bigger stretch and on top of that the strings being a bit thicker makes it more physically demanding. So thats why im not too opposed of bass being the same or a bigger number and imo the ideal number would be between 0 to 2 above the rhythm if its similar ( up to 2 cause that still keeps it to only a class above) . Any higher than 2 and i think its being a bit silly because a bassist should be used to those inconveniences since it is their instrument of choice, and honestly imo those inconvences balance out not having to do chords anyways. Also yes, it is a bit challenging.. but the name of this is rocksmith challenge so i kinda would hope it would be challenging..not much point of you getting 97+ on your competition level (or higher) first try without practicing the song or having it played before imo. If that happens i think either the song is classified higher than it should be or the player needs to be in a higher level. I personally prefer the first option as the later would promote us all to masterclass and i think that'd kinda make this not as interesting/ a bit stale. It's more interesting when you and the other participants in your category have to practice a song for several missed notes rather than play the whole song and hope to not miss that 1 note to beat someones 99.86 imo.
  17. nvm the link seems to work now thanks nacho! good tab/cdlc for bass. A bit on the easy side..think it should be advanced category
  18. Think thisll be the first beatle song i 100% never really play them..it's kinda neat that they borrow chords and not stick to one scale. Don't really understand why this is rated 6.5 when the beatle lead is harder and rated at a 3.5... i think it's a solid 3.5 or 4 Slides make it hard to get a high score. I it again but got same score and mastermode got activated on some parts. The disonant solo also kinda threw me off but its a good int song. Eii good to see Steel Panther again. and this is one of the songs i like from them / used to play! its pretty similar to the green day song in the base game think its good kid? or kid x...generation x? something like that. spent a good time riff repeating the solo untill i got it nailed! i think it might be the first solo i can play fully! tried a couple more times and on s.a like 4 more times but cant really pass the 97 mark. i feel like the chord detection is kinda iffy sometimes. kinda miss there not being a rhythm path this week. no iron maiden ss cause i cant access it
  19. i think you'd have better luck in discord for finding musicians. I find forums dont tend to have that many active people in general. I personally don't know of any discord channels for bass learners since ive never tried / never really interested me. But maybe you'd get a response out of someone in the customs forge channel in discord.
  20. says i cant access iron maiden song @ Nacholede
  21. I think you are the right winner for last week @rodman since you beat my % not sure why it gave me the win.
  22. yea i'm not 100% sure either. I just know that when i thought i would get 100% and ended up getting 99.x instead i usualy played a note that says late. but its quite possible i missed a note aswell. I'll try to replicate it just incase.
  23. This might be really niche and im not 100% sure how you'd set it up im pretty sure ive mentioned it before. The main idea is just automatic generated genres playlists of customsforge on spotify or other streaming services (although admitdley i only know for sure it can work on spotify not sure if the same proccess works for the other ones) My idea is everytime you add a song into the cf database with one of the genre tags it gets saved along with the rest of the meta data ( artist name , song name, album name, year released, time etc) into an excell page dedicated to that genre. so example: you upload ed sheeran shape of you with the tag pop it then adds ed sheeran shape of you in the respective colums of the pop playlist page in excell then you can outsource / use one of those freebie sites that makes excell cvc sheets into playlists (maybe a daily or weekly thing). now any costumforge user can have a new way to figure out what has been uploaded onto cf with genres that they like (well assuming they put a heart to the playlist) and technicly if the user listens to the song there for the 30 seconds the artist gets paid his 0.007 cents lol Start with the main genres to see if anyone is interested then do sub genres..Altho I think the subgenres might be harder to find since users might not tag it in that category cause it might have multiple subgenres...anyways I did start to do it manually ages ago..But thats just way too time consuming and there's always a faster way ( I just dont know how to code or to set that up) The benefit of doing the excell and spotify thing is that if you were to then do the inverse and make a cvc out of the playlist it can give you the genres that the artist/label put their song in so it could also give the opportunity to put more tags on those songs...ooooor....It can help you find the key to the songs, so you can add that as a tag aswell ...and then with all the songs in key maybe make key related playlists.. (I know there are songs that use multiple keys or more complex keys like the asian scales middle easter scales harmonic whatever) but it'd still be better than nothing maybe.
  24. @ kayteck i think also if you get "late" it counts as a miss
  25. Decided to give it a shot. Weird trip this one..kinda wish they'd be more like metalica in the sense of sticking to what they know works. There's definatley some cool ideas in there but usually something ruins the vibe for me and would make me not want to revisit it...seems more like a uni project at times mixing genres, throwing stuff to see what sticks, or just the mixing audio quality in general doesnt sound as good/full as city of evil imo. cosmic is the one i most pleasently surprised with.. personally really liked 3:15 to 4:20 think its probably the most solid part of the whole album however the disonant riser he puts after kinda kills it for me cause its too loud and overpowers everything. Really enjoyed 5:00 onwards mostly for the high energy drums and synths! but kinda think it shouldve just been its own thing. the beautiful morning song is decent but i think id rather just hear or play them bones by alice in chains. g at 1:10 reminds me of some 80s song that i like where the guitar is vocal melody singing doo doos but i cant think of the name. death is probably the one id listen to..id probably stop it at 2:20 ish cause not a fan of the horns and again, then theres another disonant rise (which i understand why they did it i just dont like it, its a bit too much)... Anyways, a bit easier than i thought/ hoped itd be. I suggest anyone who wants to play it to practice the songs in the last half as they have some sneaky bass lines that caught me offguard this first sight view..not much happens first half on bass.
