  2. thanks again to those choosing songs. another song that i would not hear if not for the charters. this part of the country doesn't carry anything close to this on the radio. now my fingers are ready to fall off, but i still like it Do you not have WiFi in t'outback? :) That we do, but only if you hold the antennae in your left hand with your right foot in the air. and sometimes lean to the left.

  5. some time back there was discussion about songs building up and sorting them into their own folders. someone had posted a batch file that did this very thing, but i think there was an issue with making a folder for each song, even if the group was the same. regrettably i didn't keep the link and now cannot find reference to it. i've done the search feature but come up empty. anyone remember this, and better yet have a link? thanks
  6. wow, that's all i can think of. definately something i wouldn't have picked, but after playing it and hearing it a couple times, it's growing on me. i think that's one of the reasons i like the contest so much, in addition to making me a better player, i get to hear so much new music. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=813213934 many thanks to those picking songs, you're doing a great job, although it's making me feel old ;)
  7. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=809828257 ed. lets try this one instead, other link wasn't right one i just don't get it, playing cold first try i amaze myself. play again to see if i can improve and i cant do half as good. try again and still not close. give it a night or two will help, but each time the same, best first time over. however i do see improvements on my fret finding, finger speed and accuracy thanks to the contest. it forces me to play things i might never look at and work on things i might find hard at first. so thanks to all those involved in picking songs each week.
  8. just a question about dlc storage. i just downloaded some new dlc tonight, checked to make sure it was in RS14RM and then tried to copy it to my backup folder. weird thing is even though i can see it in rocksmith, i don't see it in the dlc folder. it's been close to an hour so i would think it's done loading, but i sure don't see it. something new? anyone else have this yet?
  9. i may be late to the party, but i just noticed that steam is running a 40% off sale on their dlc. not sure how long, but i know it is active right now 11-23-16
  10. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198094950878/screenshot/138879070087050914 many thanks to the ones picking songs, after a long hard day i managed to beat this one. still can't finish in one take yet, but i'm getting there.
  11. not sure where this fits best, but I was wondering if there had been any issues with any of the weekly selections and the 100% issue? I had seen some of the posts, but hadn't experienced any problems myself. I suppose it may be since I normally just play bass. Tonite I tried some rhythm and the first two songs gave me 100% with 30% accuracy. or is this just in learn a song and not song attack?
  12. i did as you mentioned in this post, using repair and going through the list. fortunately i backed up my dlc file because as the repair feature started going through, it started telling me every entry was corrupt. i only have about 400 songs in my active list to cut down on the enumerating time. when the repair got through, i had a dozen or so. i recopied the files back into the dlc folder and while i still have the 100% issue, i also still have all my songs. not sure what or why, but don't think i'll be using this feature yet, at least until i try it out on something else first. i think there's a ton of potential in this program, but potential either direction. looking forward to the next rev tho update: finally found enough spare time to dedicate to messing with the settings and such. I have it running better now, i think i had issues with the dd not being on or something. i didn't make notes and now i'm not remembering what i changed. hate it when i do that. ended up getting it to run well enough that i ran it on a copy of my master files. took three days to get through them all. had roughly 5% failed. most were corrupt while about 1/3 of the bad files were max five issues. i reran the max five files and tried sizing them down, and it seemed to work. until i try to play them, and then i still get the dreaded hang up at the speakers. i've tried others that were redone with the mastery and dd and they seem okay. not sure about the max five yet. gonna try a couple more things and then see what happens.
  13. after weeks of hit and miss trying to get something to submit, tonight the fingers were flying. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=798849659 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=798849704 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=798849746 thanks to whomever chose these, really make an old timer feel like he can keep up. will have to see how that pans out in the next few weeks...
  14. fyi it looks like the kasabian and yellowcard links are the same on the bass section. i found the correct link on the lead side though. just lettin you know p.s. thanks for the wide variety of selections. i don't always care for every selection, but you have broadened my appreciation of other groups immensely

  19. ugghhh, i'll throw this in hoping to improve on it, but at least i have something in case i don't get back to it http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=785623809
  20. this may not be completely relevant to the first question, but i for one really enjoy the rocksmith experience. i have a shelf of music/tab that i mess with from time to time, and i too check out justin and the other youtubers offering online instruction. the biggest thing i find with RS is that it's ready when i am. i don't have to search for videos or dig out tab. it seems my schedule any more is a few minutes here and there, with the only block of time later in the evening when everyone else in the house is going to bed. i can plug in the earplugs and hammer away. i also like the ability to see feedback on my playing. i've come to the realization that i may never be able to play on my own, so i try to enjoy every minute i get to play at all. kinda like life in general, you can go through fighting it or enjoying it, all in how you look at it. i do know after being on this site for a while there is a ton of talent out there. makes me wish i was better, but also pushes me to try harder.
  21. i have to take a moment and thank all those involved in updating our necessary files to keep the cdlc active, and to keep this site going as well. i've been waiting for the remastered update expecting some issues. while i did experience a few at first, it didn't take long before a fix was floating around. All those involved continue to amaze me with the speed, accuracy and innovation. all i can say is you people are PHENOMENAL!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all the work you do. this site is full of absolutely marvelous talent, and we appreciate all of your hard work so much. again, thanks to all responsible for your tremendous work. danny
  22. ow, lesson learned about taking a few weeks off to work, (and not on guitar). my hands are stiff and out of shape, will use for motivation to get better... i hope. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=774107716 before i forget, a HUGE thank you to all the people involved in keeping this site active, as well as all the contributors. after a really long, difficult day it's so relaxing to open up and see what's new and what's going on. many, many thanks again
