  1. I had a coupon for a free week at Jamplay when I purchased a capo. Watched as many of their videos as I could muster in the limitied time. Granted I am a beginner but the site is filled with videos, documents, lessons, exercises and accompanying music tabs. Instructors spanned many genres and articles touch on a vast range of topics from How to Practice to How to Perform and reduce anxiety to How to Compose and everything in between. It felt like the complete package. Instructors even follow a calendar of broadcasting themselves jamming and taking comments from users. The yearly fee felt a bit steep but if you stick with it, I suppose it is well worth the price. But then Rocksmith came along and I just stopped visiting JamPlay, opting instead to just dive into songs. Maybe wise. Maybe not...
  2. As a complete noob to guitar effects pedals I was wondering a couple of things as I watch an endless flurry of YouTube videos on effects pedals and pedal boards. 1) Would you guys consider Rocksmith 2014 like a store with lots of inventory for testing out many different effects pedals in the game to help guide you to make real world purchases? Have any of you made purchases inspired by RS2014 Tone Creator? Were you satisfied? 2) Do you feel like the tones produced in-game by the virtual hardware are representative of their real-world counterparts? Just curious what you guys think. Thanks.
  3. Hahaha I was reading the quote wondering who that a-hole was that would make such an awful comment. Then my horror at seeing my "name" until I realized the funny joke. I wonder if public figures take training to construct their sentences so as to avoid snippets of their sentences being used to incriminate them.
  4. 3956 page refreshes later .... Mr. chlipouni releases his momentous surprise!!! Check it out. I'd post the link but it is a mystery so I will let you enjoy finding it! Hint: It's well worth looking for it!!! Thanks chlipouni!!
  5. A song manager! That would be amazing - literally my greatest wish!!! I spend 6 hours a month just keeping my downloaded CDLC up-to-date to the latest versions. Really takes away time from playing and interacting on the site. Being a soccer league organizer and with wife back at school leaving me with father duties as a 2nd (delightful) full time job, I don't have the luxury of ample free time, but let me know if I can do anything to help, such as testing. I only know FORTRAN so I am afraid I'm sorta useless for programming. This site blows my mind with how well designed it is. Admins, developers, mods, you are amazing!!! We are very lucky to have you!
  6. Sorry, edit button not working from my phone. Plus every time I restart the game to inspect a change, I go to the section with the fix and I use the occasion to play that section over and over to master the section. Blur the lines between testing and playing. :)
  7. I use the "Thank-You" button to show gratitude and the "Like" button to say that I think the CDLC is good quality. I like your idea TomSawyer of inspecting your playthroughs. Only problem is that recording software, from my limited experience, introduces lag. I turn a negative into a positive: The tedious restarting of the game to test a change makes me consider my changes very carefully. Then there is that euphoria when your solution work like a charm. Here's hoping others are inspired by the pleasure of testing plus think of it: you know a secret the world is about to discover -that your labour of love is precious and fun. Plus better to have one author catch his blunder in 5 minutes than to gobble up 5 minutes of 500 people's time and risk no one downloading your follow-on CDLD. I know I was frightened to waste you, my friends', time. Then one reward is when people like your song, they tend to kindly send you a playthrough's and your work resides affectionately on YouTube. Priceless!
  8. I guess we're all free to decide what our name means. I sometimes download songs I dislike from respected charters just because I know it is quality and then luckily I even learn to appreciate the song because it taught me things. That's the power of a name. I must admit the temptation to post is strong when working so hard to perfect. I know I just couldn't wait to share my work. But I think I made more friends by withholding and testing every single aspect of the custom. Plus I spend 6 hours per month revisiting every single forum post of my 1500 downloaded CDLC in case an author revised his version of a song. Knowing I must be in the minority in doing this so painstakingly, my goal is that a song be as perfect as possible at version 1.0 since it often will be the only version downloaded by a CF member.
  9. These are amazing times. I'm stuck in an endless loop ....Refresh page .... refresh page ... refresh page
  10. Yes!!! Charlotte the Harlot!!! :)
  11. I've searched and searched using my mobile phone while at work and failed to find any new Maiden CDLC on the site by Mr. Chlipouni. I feel like a kid waiting for his Christmas gift. Please do tell. :)
  12. Yes Indy Plumber made a version but somehow it never ported from Smithy to Customsforge. :(
  13. Where Eagles Dare and Clairvoyant same week. Me so happy!!!! Thanks gentlemen! Only 79 Maiden songs left till we complete the discography. :) I better get cracking on The Loneliness of the Long distance Runner.
  14. That is an amazing coincidence I was reading your post exactly as I was listening to that song and just thinking how I cannot wait to play this one. Thanks so much Snake.
  15. I've often wondered if there were a simpler way to create a tone or rules of thumb that would eliminate the need to try every single permutation of hardware combination and sliding every single setting slider until something suitable is conjured up. Perhaps no such tutorial can exist... Perhaps we need to just develope a Shazam-like app that listens to the song and proposed settings in RS .... :)
  16. Hi all, I will openly admit that I am in favour of not losing any precious contributions. Like Wikipedia or Newton's 2nd law, once something is openly shared I just don't see how it could be taken back. I applaud the gutsy move by CF admins to work toward the greater good but I have a few questions: 1) With the new adoption system, how does an SA charter gone MIA come back to reclaim his abandoned child (his/her creation of a CDLC)? Will the new adoptive parent have to relinquish his new child? Or will the returning parent have to post a new clone which he'll then have mastery over? I'm just enjoying the real-life analogy so please bear with me. :) 2) In honour of the former parent, should we force adopters to always maintain a link to the original CDLC regardless whatever improvements the adoptive parent deems necessary or is pressured into. Of course when you think of a master charter like Glen who puts extra polish and detail in his customs, it feels like that offering should continue to exist untouched like in a treasure trove of archived home videos of the child's nascent years which the adoptive parent must respect in parallel to raising the child in the new best way he/she sees fit. 3) I failed to notice the criteria to become a Manga Charter but I think I have noticed authors of unremarkable CDLC becoming Magna Charters. I might be wrong and I'd be hard-pressed to cite an example off the top of my head but assuming this assertion to be true I am wondering if, to do justice to former greatest hits from SA, if we should not have a higher tier of charter whom, only they could adopt, not unlike the pain-in-the-ass procedures to adopt a real child it seems like only top tier, experienced charters should adopt. Perhaps name a member as "Contributor" as soon as 1 CDLC is uploaded, "Veteran Charter" for charters with either 100 thanks or 100 likes or 5 CDLC's created which each contain all arrangements, lyrics, DD and custom tones to prove the veteran has knowledge in all aspects of charting. Then there could be "Magna Charters" who are the elder statesmen and masters of their craft who have been promoted by the admins and whom could adopt. I am just throwing numbers as an idea. Perhaps the adoption system can also be open to Veteran charters as well as Magna Charters. 4) What happens if an adopter wishes or is forced to hand-over the child to another adopter? Is that a clearly defined transition? 5) What happens if another Magna Charter disagrees with changes made to an adopted CDLC? Will he/she be allowed to branch off and adopt the song too and make his/her changes? This could get hairy and antagonistic. Perhaps my point 2 above of always providing a link to the original can help alleviate this issue, if at least to branch off from an original copy though I think branching would confuse everyone... Given our rules that nothing stops someone from offering competing versions of a given song I guess the current adoption system breaks with that stance and prevents multiple adoptive parents, or does it? The way I imagined resurrecting missing CDLC was for mods to post them and for users to submit proposed updates which need to be approved by mods (or other named experienced and respected curators). Just food for thought. But evidently I do believe you guys have already given this a good amount of thought so I am just asking questions and happy to follow in your footsteps. I've been so busy in real life that I must admit to having trouble keeping up with all the threads in this forum, so if I am repeating some other thread's debates or made wrong assertions then I am sorry. I only mean well. Once again congratulations to CF for being an incredible site in which I aspire to spend more and more time and thank-you to those generous adoptive folk who keep the greats alive. And, of course thanks to those people who are MIA and whom we miss dearly that have provided us with their creations we now wish to adopt. I have never been adopted but I guess it must be flattering that unlike a child born and raised by their natural parents and who are not chosen by their parents that you who created a child now sees him/her specifically hand-picked as a progeny of premium choice. Did you guys miss my long posts? :)
  17. Awesome! That and An Educated Fool..... you make them faster than I can play the! :) Great work man!
  18. Please ignore this post. I initially posted a link to a Maiden article only to realize it was fake. It was an April fool's joke announcing the next Studio album: Powerslave II .... I can't believe I believed it.... The momentary excitement I felt was out of this world....
  19. Can I Play With Madness? Alexander the Great, Out of the Silent Planet all in the same week! Woooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Those are massive additions to the collections! Thanks a million guys.
  20. The big moment has arrived. Replicators has just published the one of the most important Maiden songs: Alexander the Great!!!! Today is a great day! Have a crack at it. I know he's tweaking a few things at the moment so stay posted.
  21. Boy you are hitting so many classics. That will be awesome. No rush, don't burn out. Slowly but surely. I see you've been quite busy.Cheers guys! You guys are great! We are very lucky.
  22. Aside from the super people over here, I never knew forums could be this amazing. What a fine job you've done with your team! We really are so lucky!
  23. Hi all, As I promised Snake3169 5 months ago, I am putting links to the Iron Maiden CDLC in this original post now that I have finished my first CDLC. I started but didn't finish yet. Just didn't want you to wonder why some have links and some don't. Since Smithy Anvil seems disappeared for good it looks like I won't be able to link Rocksmith 2012 or even some Rocksmith 2014 songs that weren't ported over.
  24. Oh well nevermind then I had no idea the quality was poor. Then I welcome Nacholede's impressive upcoming contributions. To all new and aspiring charters, if you don't find the help you need in the Help forums please don't hesitate to ask us in this thread for assistance. We all want to grace this site with top notch Maiden.
  25. Poor Blaze Bayley get too little loving, but I do really like his contributions to Iron Maiden as well as his very good solo albums post-Iron Maiden. I would love to see some Virtual XI stuff. We would be most grateful! My favorite on that album is actually a rare Dave Murray song: Lightning Strikes Twice but I'm just saying.... any song you do from that album will be amazing. I'll contact iFrit1332 to see if he can post his song here on CF.
