  1. It's no offense, but instead of communicating with these people posting "bad" cdlc you asked to block or filter them out. I'm with GTLO - there's a learning curve and if you're good at computer science but not as good as a guitarist you'll probably not recognize that a tab has too many errors (users are creating a custom to learn how to play guitar and they can't play the songs at their level). If you would have asked these people or add a comment in their thread, but all of these were ignored, I would understand it, because it's a community and no dl area where you can expect all customs are perfect. A simple filter and rating with a few stars wouldn't increase quality - maybe a charter with "poor quality" learns his/her skills and you'll get your favorite songs charted in future. If you discourage them, they'll leave or stop to share their work with you. To be honest, I don't have an idea for solution which would work without having additional workload to the active people. It's always in a community - you'll find everything in a range from perfect to needs some work. I understand the problem but the first post isn't the best approach. Don't hesitate to "bother" in a polite way in the threads where you think that the custom should be improved. These comments are helpful for the charters and others dl them. With a number from 1-10 errors will not be fixed, if the charter isn't aware that something is wrong with his custom. One more thing - where would be the benefit if everybody has a "personal filter" for qm? Think more as a community to improve things and less in a microcosm.
  2. 4 posts and complaining about the work of others cluttering your search page? Are you serious? :) What about giving feedback to the people of all the customs you're considering having errors that they can fix them? And if a tab is completely wrong if you write it constructive without offending the creator of the custom would be a good feedback as well. If you want to have some kind of rating or quality management you'll not get a usable result with a button or any other rating system - the problems are what do you want to rate (the criteria) and then you need people participating in it. If you add a rating from 1-10 for a custom it will not reflect anything (people rate their favorite songs as firekorn wrote which is subjective) and if you create a more complicated system people will not use it at all (or not properly). From the amount of customs it's impossible to test all of them by a group of experienced charters or guitarists. If you dislike customs from some people give them feedback or write yourself a list and don't click on the dl link. As you said blocking users or filter them is no solution and a general rating will never work - there're were attempts for this on avil and it was a fail. The only working system was having a few rules and that people reported customs which a mod checked it to move these to an approved section. I see your and the OPs point and as a suggestion to filter out customs which are unplayable add a button to "dislike" them (without showing the result public) and if there're customs with more than x votes test these. Ask the charter to fix it take them down. I don't think that it will be a success (too few people giving feedback by clicking the button), but it's a simple counter and you could add it for an evaluation test. This statement isn't correct, but it's not worth to start any discussion on it as it's gone and in the past.
  3. The ID you're using is only to have an ID of an official song - Cherub has been choose as most have it when they preordered RS 2014. The converted filename (as mrctll already said) needs to have the m.psarc at the end - the rest of the filename doesn't matter and you don't have to rename it to cherub or any other file from which you're using the ID.
  4. The page(s) use a CDN and your IP or Proxy is probably flagged.
  5. Which version of the songmanager did you use? By copying the files in a folder with a subfolder "dlc" (and selecting parent folder in the configuratoin), renaming them to _p.psarc I renamed the files successfully - I'm using the latest beta version.

    Won't start

The installation with the Beta installer (which seems to be different, because it does not launch this online checking tool and launcher) works without any errors.

    Won't start

I've the same problem and message posted by chapmak. It does not install (v1.1.0.0) in Windows 7/32bit, but the previous versions including version 1.1.0.0 (I've deinstalled it for testing purposes and now it wont reinstall) installed fine in the same system. I've not yet tried the XP compatibility flag as it worked before in windows 7 without changing anything. If you need somebody to test the installer again let me know.
  8. When selecting a song with space bar the selection focus to the first record in the list. It should stay at the current record to move from this position with the cursor to the next row. Is multiselect with holding the shift key pressed supported?
  9. I've the same with version 1.1.0.0 - it does not rename, because it creates empty directories with same name and this gives an conflict and the file itself can't be renamed. In the template there's no creation of directories defined - I'm using this "<artist>_-_<title>_<dd>_<version>" template. There's another issue with the renamer in version 1.1.0.0 - the first click on a property inserts it at the cursor position in the template text field, but the next click inserts the property at the beginning of the textfield.
  10. Hi Darjusz, with a format like xml or json it would be easier to interpretate and use the data - it's more complex, but easier to work with as it tags the data and you know the meainng of each value. I've not checked the csv export - does it write a header line with the names of the data fields?
  11. Hi Darjusz, I would like to save the customs meta data in a database without to have to type it in manually as the information is already inside the custom. I'm not using a windows PC and for all tools I'm starting a virtual machine. A database would not require to be on Windows and the meta data could be read on OSX or Linux - or writing a simple webpage. ... or it inspires people to write other tools, scripts or applications.
  12. If the songmanager could export the values of a one or more selected customs to one of these formats these exports could be used in other applications. With a configuration where you might enter a servername, credentials (username and passwort) the json values of a custom could be posted to a server api. I've read that it's planned to connect it to the CF database. With a configurable connection it could be used flexible with other web applications - a simple approach could be posting the json to a webserver and do whatever one wants with the customs data. A bidirectional connection for this would not be necessary or a nice to have. The songmanager is capable to read all the information from the custom(s) and with posting or exporting it to json or xml it would be available for other use cases without to type it manually in. If it's not too much effort a json export would be nice and I know that the other suggestions are more work and as a suggestion to create a CF connection and a more general json approach to use the meta data in other web services or applications. Thx for reading :)
  13. Description: If a song has the value N/A in the author filed the export fails with an exception that the column is missing - I guess it might be the same with other columns if the values are not set in older versions of a custom. System Info: OS: Windows 7 x32 Enterprise SP1 .NET Version: 4.5.2 No OS Customization Reproduction steps: 1. Start the app and wait for it while it rescans your CDLCs 2. Go to Songmanager tab 3. Select custom (or is the export for all songs in the setlist?) where at least one custom the author field is not set and has the value N/A 4. Push the export button - the export format does not matter
  14. Excellent and thx for adding it. @@Lovroman - thx for the explanation and showing a workaround - with having it in both (renaming and setlist) it's more flexible as you might add the tuning to the filename if one prefers a different taxonomy for their customs.
  15. Adding the tuning as a field to the template - it would allow to rename customs and using the tuning as folder to have different tunings in their specific folder.
  16. Thx - all issues described are fixed in v1.0.0.9 I'm marking this as solved. ... sorry for the informal report - should have read the pinned topic ;) Thx for this great tool which is much nicer than having only the files in a filemanager (probably with cryptic names which the renaming function erases).
  17. This doesn't sound bad at all - ask for the tabs and create a rocksmith custom of it ;)
  18. In v1.0.0.6 it does not crash, but the columns are +1 shifted - if disabling the selected column the bass column is hided, hiding bass column hides the lead column.
  19. Nice idea - as it's related to tagging. If the songmanager uses a local database a tagging for the customs would be useful. With song or setlists you've some ordering and tagging would add more flexibility if you create your own taxonomy for searching and filtering content.
  20. Adding to the context menu to select all duplicates in a folder - if you've 2 folders with customs and you want to erase duplicates that you click on a custom from folder 1 and in the context menu "select all duplicates from this folder". This could be recursive or optional both to include the subfolders or not. - "select all duplicates from this folder" - "select all duplicates from this folder recursive"
  21. If the song has no version information the column displays N/A - this value is used and you end with the slash interpretated as a separator and the file is named A.psarc in a subfolder of the rest of the template string (when using version as last pattern in the template). The renaming does not handle if a field (for example song name) contains characters which are not usable in a file or directory name - international characters or special characters like ":" - these should be replaced with an underscore or ignored. I can't select mor than one row - I've tested it in a virtual machine. Edit: the "select" column was hidden It crashes with this message http://s7.postimg.org/3xylpixcb/Bildschirmfoto_2015_09_08_um_12_48_21.jpgwhen hitting the select all button (some text is in German) It seems that the bass and select column are mixed in v1.0.0.2
  22. To use some of the functions you could temporarily rename the files from p.psarc to m.psarc - a nice feature is the duplicate finder or renaming the files.
  23. Great songpack :) And thx @@dreddfoxx that we could play all these since RS1
  24. When clicking on this link in he submitted DLC section http://customsforge.com/topic/19971-camarillo-brillo/?hl=camarillo I receive an error page Is it intended to make these only to members of the group visible?
  25. I've read the criteria - in my opinion it's not possible to translate these into a star rating by everyone and if you add categories and rate every category with stars where all users should participate you'll not get a list of good and "bad" customs. Some criteria are hard to judge - if it has not all arrangements but for example lead is perfect and you're playing guitar only it's not a bad custom at all. If you play bass only it would be a 1 star rating and a guitar player would rate it with 5 stars. It would be nice to have one value (a star rating or whatever) to see which customs might be more polished and well made and meet your criteria - or just using a label, which would not discourage people from creating customs, but I would not expect this to work if you add a rating system which all users should use. If using your criteria you need some people with the experience to check all these values and adding a reporing system where all users could participate, but the label "well made custom" should be assigned to a custom only by a selcted group of people. Just my 2€ :) For the amount of customs you would need more than 2 people - this was a mission impossible on anvil :D
