  1. raynebc's post in Can't Upload Song Into EOF was marked as the answer
Inside the XML file, it gives the name of the tab file it relates to. If you open that in a text editor, make sure it refers to the Guitar Pro file and not the PowerTab file. Then just make sure the corrected XML file and the Guitar Pro file are in the same folder when you try to have EOF import the XML file.
  2. raynebc's post in Claps Volume / Pan/ was marked as the answer
You can change the volumes in "Sound>Audio cues". EOF doesn't have a way to pan audio to a particular channel. Even though it would be possible to add something like that, it would take quite a bit of work.
  3. raynebc's post in Weird tabs was marked as the answer
After you beat sync the chart you'll probably find it starts and ends at about the right place.
  4. raynebc's post in GPA sync question was marked as the answer
I'd think it's better to sync to the start of the sound, or at least I think that's the norm.
  5. raynebc's post in Can't make Rocksmith DLC. EOF stuck in Guitar Hero mode? was marked as the answer
If Song>Track doesn't allow you to change to one of the "real" guitar tracks, you're using a very (several years) old version of EOF.
  6. raynebc's post in Somehow lost most of my sections/phrases was marked as the answer
Does Beat>Events show anything? If this has just happened, you can just use the undo function until they come back. Unless a bug was triggered, very few things could cause all the events to be removed (ie. "Beat>Clear all events").

Otherwise, EOF does not have a way to re-import all the sections/phrases unless you wanted to do something like import the Rocksmith XML file that is created when saving that old project file (ie. to a temporary folder). But that process may cause your beat markers to be moved slightly as all timings in Rocksmith are only accurate to the millisecond and EOF saves beat markers with more precision than that.
  7. raynebc's post in How to do this in eof was marked as the answer
I think those are arpeggios, or at least the way EOF handles them is pretty close. The pro guitar tutorial (available in the help menu) covers it in some detail, but the short version is to author the notes that you want to be in the arpeggio, select those notes and use "Note>Pro guitar>Arpeggio>Mark" or use the accompanying keyboard shortcut (CTRL+Shift+G). EOF will draw a turquoise background behind the notes to reflect this notation.
  8. raynebc's post in Tone Change was marked as the answer
For some reason I missed this thread. I've corrected this now.
  9. raynebc's post in How to copy from another guitar part 100% same? was marked as the answer
    A few things:
    1. You need to line up the seek position exactly where you want the first pasted note to go. This usually involves using the seek by beat or seek by grid snap functions. Then the pasted notes will all have the same grid snapping the original ones did.
    2. Make sure to use the regular paste function because "Old paste" does not adjust the pasted notes for different tempo changes in the destination part of the chart.
    3. EOF doesn't copy tech notes along with the regular notes, but all other techniques are expected to copy/paste properly. If you find otherwise please let me know. You can follow up with another copy/paste to copy tech notes as appropriate.
  10. raynebc's post in EoF increase BPM for a part of a song was marked as the answer
You can anchor the beat where the solo starts by clicking on it (the -->) and pressing the A key. EOF will place a red arrow beneath the beat to reflect this change. Then you can click and drag beat markers that occur in the solo, and the one you anchored will stay put. Alternatively, you can manually set the tempo on the beat marker at the beginning of the solo and that beat won't go anywhere.
  11. raynebc's post in Leading Silence Not Working was marked as the answer
Depending on strange characteristics of the source audio, using the re-encode option is the first thing I'd try.
  12. raynebc's post in Error importing GPA file into EOF was marked as the answer
There is some kind of error with that GPA file, around 2m47s (somewhere along the lines of 1/12 measure before the end of measure 70 or 71). It defines the same note as being at two different timestamps. If you can try to clean up (erase sync points and resync) that part of the GPA file, try exporting it again to see if EOF will accept it.
  13. raynebc's post in Generating xml Problem (4,61) was marked as the answer
If you open the XML file in question in a text editor, look at the 4th row, 61st column to see if anything doesn't look right. If you can post the XML, we can take a look at it.
  14. raynebc's post in Importing a GP file causes EoF to crash was marked as the answer
I studied the problem for a while before I realized what was going on. At the end of the tab where it switches to 5/8, Guitar Pro is writing the empty measures with whole note rests. This is musically inaccurate because the empty measure is supposed to be 5 eighth rests instead, and then the math goes wrong because EOF was assuming the note durations were proper and ends up expecting the rest note to be 8 beats long instead of the expected 5. I don't know if this is something Guitar Pro commonly does, but I hadn't run into it before.

I verified that if I manually authored the correct rest notes in the empty 5/8 measures (one half and one eighth rest for each) in every track, EOF imported that without crashing so GP's careless notation was the problem. I'll add some logic to try to correct these timing errors when they are found in the GP file.
  15. raynebc's post in Issue importing: Linknext status on legato slide. was marked as the answer
I've improved this for the next hotfix. It will now import those note->tied sliding note combos as a note with linknext status followed by a sliding note.
  16. raynebc's post in HO/PO import problem from GP file was marked as the answer
I think I've got this corrected for the next hotfix. As you say, it would only happen if applying the hammer on/pull off onto the next note technique was applied to a note in a chord.
  17. raynebc's post in Can't get the right Tuning was marked as the answer
Besides the tuning in the toolkit, you need to make sure the appropriate tuning is set in EOF. You can set the tuning for the active track by going into the Track menu and using the "Pro guitar>Set tuning" function.
  18. raynebc's post in Another request - chord import for fret anchoring. was marked as the answer
EOF will import chord fingerings if they are defined in the GP file, but will only force a fret hand position change at a chord or note if that chord or note defines use of the index finger.
  19. raynebc's post in some simple notes are not imported to EOF from GP file was marked as the answer
You're often going to have to wait longer than 15-30 minutes for a response, the forum doesn't have staff paid to provide support. I've improved the slide handling for GP3 files so it will import correctly in the next hotfix.
  20. raynebc's post in Lead in silence was marked as the answer
Make sure you recreate the Wwise audio with the new WAV file EOF made to include the leading silence. Otherwise it will keep using the old audio (and the chart will play earlier than it should because the chart reflects silence added and the audio does not).
  21. raynebc's post in EoF: Error importing certain Guitar Pro files was marked as the answer
There seemed to be an issue with the fret limit updating, so I'll fix that, but I think the remaining issue is that measures #21 and #38 needs to be properly marked as the 2nd alternate ending in the choruses. It may be implied that's where playback resumes after the repeat during alternate ending 1, but I've seen GP files that assume different things so it's best to be specific. After I added that notation, EOF imported the GP file's first track so that it expanded to 79 measures, which seems to be complete.

Measure 55 of the first track needs some attention though, it says to play some very high numbered frets on the low E string, going as high as fret 30. They'll need to be transposed to appropriate notes on the higher strings.
  22. raynebc's post in Suggestion: Don't clap on frethand mutes when clapping is enabled was marked as the answer
I'll go ahead and make it a user option.
  23. raynebc's post in EoF crashes was marked as the answer
I posted a new hotfix just now that should resolve this crash.
  24. raynebc's post in Transporting GPA/GP Issues with 7 String songs was marked as the answer
I'll add it to the to do list about seeing if the user can choose which string to drop.
  25. raynebc's post in Mixing Techniques...? was marked as the answer
You can author that like this:
    http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/raynebc/Slideanddelayedtremolo_zps3a606c34.jpg

It will be authored as three separate notes: The slide, the sustain and the tremolo. Just place each at the position you want, place the techniques and then also place the "linkNext" status (one of the checkboxes in the edit pro guitar note dialog) on the first two notes. Rocksmith 2014 will treat these three notes as one combined note.
