I had 99% in last week's MC Bonus (8) but I'm in 'Advanced'
Can I still win MC Bonus from last week?
And can I rank up with the 99% in it to MC as well? (But I might not be ready for it, I was just wondering if it's possible with a score on a MC song)I think the promotion system applies to the main songs of the week, not the bonus songs. But I'm not sure, so it's better to ask @ Rodman .
And do you really want to promote to masterclass, since you were promoted to advanced class about 2-3 weeks ago and there is still a lot of work ahead of you in this class?- 2

yes I'm aware , and I'm not saying that they didn't do something incredible in their years. They founded a genre, and I've always loved a lot of their songs and grow up with them.
But:- they industrialized their music, like a factory. It's like Assassin Creed sequels. No soul and no innovation, just pumping out new similar albums
- their songwriting is very simple and repetitive. It's not a crime, but when you dilute your songs so much, and industrialized them, it's not very attractive
- some songs didn't age very well
I understand your point of view. Maybe you're right that their later songs aren't innovative, but it doesn't bother me because I just like their style. And, for example, from the last album I really like Hell on Earth (it's so long, it's a plus for me, probably a minus for some others ), so sometimes they can surprise you with something.
Generally, my situation with them is different, because in the past I listened more to Metallica, and I only knew the most famous songs from IM. I actually started getting to know them more through Rocksmith because their charts are really fun to play. Currently, in the case of Metallica, I mainly like their old best songs, and their new releases (actually most of them after 2000) are not entirely my style, and in the case of IM, I also like their new releases. Of course I appreciate both bands

Bass scores
I haven't played this in years (played maybe a few times early in my RS journey and never on bass), and this is a very fun chart to play!
This really makes me tired
Great, powerful chart. Steve Harris doesn't disappoint!
I was too tired to play this technically demanding chart, so for now I'll post an old screen from the championship week when we played this.

a 7-minute song that should be like 2:30
But do you know that at this point you are committing a music crime?

I created a new CDLC version of the song Shinedown - Monsters. Available here: https://ignition4.customsforge.com/cdlc/84197
This version includes an additional bonus lead path, and the rhythm includes power chords in the chorus as it should. I like playing this because it's not too difficult and it has a nice sound.- 1

Rhythm scores
The rhythm chart here is basically the same as the lead but without the solo. There should be power chords etc. I like playing it, so I will try to improve this CDLC to make it more like the original chart.
Hah, it was the first time I played this. Playing without backing tracks is demanding for me, because I hear too much how badly I play sometimes
This is so great to play!

Wow, so many songs! So let's start celebrating!
I've played most of these songs before, but now that I've come back to them I've managed to get a better score almost everywhere, so that's satisfying.
.
This is the first time I played ithis song. A perfect song for beginners, in my opinion this should be the main song for this week's beg class.
I played this once before in the championship. Improvement 98 -> 99%. I don't think this is more difficult than AC/DC song.
Cool song, the solo gave me a little problem. 95% -> 97%.
One of the songs from the first weeks I started participating. Same accuracy as before.
Ok, this is a nice song, but the chart is more rhythmic, I would prefer to play something more solo in lead path. Great improvement 89% -> 95%.
I wonder if I like playing this band's songs? Their charts appeared several times in the championship and on the one hand they were ok, but there was always something about them that annoyed me, for example the strange and uncomfortable solo here...
I haven't played this song for a long time, although I do play something from IM from time to time. I messed up the intro part, I would have to spend some time learning it. The rest of the song went well and huge improvement from 81% to 90%!
This I played for the first time and for me it's probably the least fun song from the selection.
@ Rodman Thank you for making a great selection. Have a nice week!

Oh, there's a lot of slides in bass this week. I lost some accuracy because of this.
Not a good chart for the championship, because the score depends heavily on slides recognition.
And this is good.
Really interesting. I like this style of jamming/soloing on bass.
Pretty ok.
And again the slide madness... But fun chart.

Maybe final improvement. Unfortunately not score attack...

Guitar improvements. It will be difficult to improve this, because recognition here is not the best.

Rhythm day
No crashes for me, I don't now, I don't know why this is happening to you
These two songs from adv/master classes are not particularly difficult but, a lot of notes are lost due to recognition...

If you say the song is a 3 then it's a 3. I trust your ratings more than my own. But have you ever encountered a bass chart that you'd rate a 1?
There was probably one song here a few weeks ago that I rated 1.5 in bass path. I think that difficulty 1 is a chart that has only simple, single notes and enough distance between notes that even someone who starts playing guitar/bass and "doesn't feel" the distance of the frets has time to easily position their fingers correctly.

Wow! For the guitar paths this is more 9 than 10 diff, but the bass is a cleary 10. Some parts are like guitar fast solos and those tapping parts, omg.

I commented yesterday that it wasn't a hard bass week, but I checked the difficulty ratings carefully and I would still add +1 to the difficulty rating to every song except the masterclass song. Bass paths are often underrated because most of the championship participants are at the high-intermediate or adv/master level. But when someone is at a more beginner or slightly intermediate level, like @ Minute2Midnight , it is not so easy to achieve a very high score.
So:
The Chumbawamba song is easy and repetitive but quite uncomfortable to play (repetitive jumps over many frets). I would give it a 3.
The Culture Club song is a 4, but due to the difficult beginning of the synthesized bass I would give it a 4.5.
The Gravestone song has some fast riffs, although not very technically difficult, so I would give it a 5.- 7

Not very hard bass week.

@ Rodman and fellow organizers.... I have one question since I am a bit confused about bass ratings... In "Da rules" it says...
>Classes difficulties standards are BEG: 1-3 INT: 4,5 ADV: 6,7 MC: 8,9 (guitar)
>Bass: Beg 1-4, Int 5-6, Adv 7-8, Mc 8-9, Gog 10 (updated May 2021)But no one seems to be following this rules for rating bass, including in the format to add songs in the SSL:
That means the answer is rating bass the same way as guitar, right????
In 2021, we changed the range of difficulty ratings for each class, but after some time we returned to the old system, where the ratings for bass are the same as for guitar. This was due to discussions and the difficulty of finding enough songs with sufficiently difficult bass paths.

I admit that I had a problem with difficulty rating bass path of this song. @ loudly , who suggested this song, rated bass as 4
In this song, the guitar path and the bass path have the same chart, so again the question becomes how should they be rated? My opinion, as I once mentioned, is that it is best to add about +1 to the bass rating compared to the guitar. So I think ratings 4.5 and 5.5 (bass between intermediate and advanced) are ok here. The bass chart is not difficult in itself but can be a bit of a problem in Rocksmith due to recognizing these pull-offs.
The bass path of the Rhapsody of Fire song is definitely advanced, because there are 2-3 quick passages where you have to hit many notes on different frets and strings. And we rate the difficulty taking into account the most difficult part. I would rate this part a 7, the rest of the song a 5.5-6, so the overall rating is 6.5.
Other opinions welcome. We can always set the Nightwish song as the main intermediate bass and move the Royal Blood song to a higher class.
