Hey all, It's that time of year again when we need the community's help. All job positions are 100% on your free time with no pay. You're doing this for the love of helping our community. What we're looking for: NGINX Server Admin (Linode experience is a plus, but not needed) Our main administrator is MIA and we're looking for an expert trustworthy server admin to sign up to help us. Your tasks would be to manage 2 servers, the backups, and load balancing. You would need experience in NGINX Configurations, PHP & MySQL Configs. Laravel Developers (Or an expert PHP developer who can learn Laravel) We would love to add an expert PHP developer to our team, someone who knows or can learn Laravel (Ignition's framework). We currently have one main coder doing all the work and if we can add another one that would be perfect. Mobile PHP/JS Developers We're currently looking on improving our framework for mobile. Happy Holidays! Before I begin with the announcements/news I want to congratulate all of our users for hitting over 100,000 posts. Additionally we're near to hitting 9,500 songs which is a huge milestone. We're close to hitting 60,000 users. Let's start this off with an update on Ignition. If you're not aware already we've been working on Search 3 (aka Ignition) for awhile now. We've dedicated ourselves to this project and want to bring everyone the greatest search engine for songs. As of today I want to announce that all Magna Charters will be able to beta test the new search soon. After we receive enough feedback and fix any search-breaking bugs we can release it to everyone. Changelog update for Search 2 to Search 3: Please note some of these features may not be included in the beta and released in the future Features not included but are currently being worked on: Introducing our new front page, the Ignition dashboard. This is a work in progress concept that will feature the latest Rocksmith news. Additionally on the left it will display search statistics (that you can set which ones you want) such as Newest CDLC, Recently Updated, Most Downloaded, Top Requests, Newly Fulfilled Requests & Latest Topics. A forum link that goes to the forums is displayed on the main navigation Requests: We're in the process of making requests integrated into the same theme for Ignition. We will release more information in the future. Creators: Creators is another work-in-progress project where users can manage the CDLC they have created. An updated "2014-2015" design which looks and uses modern techniques. & plenty of more features. We're also working on improving the forums to bring a better experience. This will happen next year. Well this is weird, We've had this feature internally for months but the reason we chose not to release it to the public is that this discourages feedback. Plus your greasemonkey script will be useless when we switch over to ignition, because of our new system. I love to support 3rd-party scripts but I'm not sure what to do in this situation. We will discuss this internally and figure out how to proceed. EDIT: Plus another problem is you can't follow the song to get updates if you use this method, which is a major downside.

Just a heads up. I noticed an issue where the counter will reset, I've fixed that and adjusted the goal(s) and paid the addons, etc with the leftover money. Now it's just the server payment which is due October but I'd like to prepay it if possible.

The forums are forums and slack is chat. It's more than just chat through. (And it can't be replaced with our chat system because it's totally different.) Slack has an android/ios app too so all staff can stay in communication. I am already planning to make this go back to the free account however, so this is all a moot point since prices will be going down to $0. We try to expand our forums to what the users need or have replied to in the surveys. Some of the things wanted Twitch or a better FAQ system for example. Unfortunately sometimes these addons are crap from what are actually shown in the demo, I think only two addons out of a handful was a problem, so that's always good news. We ended up finding really good addons and using them. We try not to spend any money we don't need to but when we need a feature and see see it on sale, we will try to get it. MediaFire business covers EOF. rayne needed an advanced stats for his downloads and I needed a better alternative than sendspace. We will be phrasing this out as well since we have our own built-in new EOF website in the future. Ignition is a huge feature we're already knee deep in. I really do not want to back track on this and we will continue to move forward with it. It will be similar but improved by 400%. It will run better on our system and use less resources as well. Social features (FB, Twitter) are free so that doesn't bother us. It's nice to reach out to the community to ask questions and to let them know if something is up. Sometimes we need to improve our areas where we are weak. A lot of users have suggested an awards system. We have one it just needs to be setup. I do appreciate your comments however. We do have internal meetings all the time to discuss this and we knew slack had to be cut down because it was way too expensive.

A reason a new front end/search is needed is because with the way we are setup now we're doomed for failure if we rely on a total ip board setup. We need something that is our own and doesn't rely on ip board. Only use ip board for authentication. If we have our own system it will be much better for all the users and will help shape our future. I don't want to rely on purchasing ip board add-ons because it costs too much to maintain. I'm trying to keep the costs down. Plus it will be awesome to have our own cdlc system rewritten from scratch with a requests system / cdlc author area too.
