  1. Hello Magna Charters. Starting this Wednesday, 9th of July. We are going to allow the adoption of old CDLC. Old CDLC: Songs that were on SA. What does this mean for you? Rule number ten will be changed for this. Current rule. Please do not post customs that are not yours without their permission. However you can convert RS1 customs to RS2014 as long as you give the original author credit." New rule. "As of 9 July Magna Charters are allowed to add old CDLC to the database If they abide to the Adoption Rules. When Converting RS1 customs to RS2014 please give credit to the original author." What are the adoption rules? 1. As adopter you will make sure that the custom works and it is your responsibility to fix error's. 2. Every song you adopt is required to have this posted in the release note. If you do not know who the original charter is. 3. The original charter can post his own version and request the adopted version to be removed. If the adopted version has been modified to such a degree it can be called his own. The adopted version will stay. If the original charter uploads his version he can request the adopted one to be removed by messaging a member of staff. The adopted version will only be removed after confirmation that the original has been uploaded. 4. If changes are made, keep a link to the original version in the release notes. Changes are: Note fixes. Sync fixes. Tone fixes. Added arrangements. Added Vocals. Why is this only allowed for Magna Charters? You guys have experience with making and maintaining customs. We can trust you to not massively add all the old songs without making sure they work as they should. If you have any questions about this be sure to ask them here or send me a pm.

  3. I think you should find something else than money as an incentive to work on a tool like that, EOF and the Toolkit become what it is today because the people behind wasn't motivated only by money, if you want the tool to be developed, find dev that want to develop it first, then you'll worry about money and such things if nobody wants to work on it it won't go far and will cost you way more money for a result that won't be better and i'm sure that we have some people that are capable of taking the dev of such things. To be short money isn't the right incentive and it has been proven in so many occasion.

  6. Of course it wouldn't take anything away, i never say that like this way but probably i wasn't clear enough. But like i said before i also want to see those stuff in a new version. More Techniques because there probably miss some and stuff like that. Also i never say baritone is an advanced thing, i only think about the point that probably not everyone bought a baritone because it is mostly a metal thing and as far as we see how many metal things comes out with bands that really use a baritone for most of the songs? But also u have to thing about that point. Copyrights! How many bands allowing it to use there stuff? so they also have to see what contracts can we make to get those songs in, how many of them have a baritone guitar and how many person who play this game have a baritone? They have to calculate if it is worth to add the work and money for it. BEcause if they only get let me say one DLC pack with 3 or 4 songs why they should add baritone support? That is the way i also see it. Probably they see what a community those both games have and see what guys like unleashed create, maybe they will add later some back doors so it will be possible to add those things without make any special contracts for songs and so all. If they will be smart they should do it. Because without a community a game is nothing. I think you're missing the actual issue behind using a baritone. You can play any song you want on a baritone guitar, just like you would on a normal guitar. However, the game itself doesn't recognize anything past the 22nd fret, which presents problems with songs recorded on regular guitars just the same. I believe somebody is currently having that problem right now with a Metallica song. So you wouldn't be adding anything specific to just a baritone guitar, but the ability to play higher frets altogether. I play on my baritone in RS fairly frequently, because it's easier to do drop tunings on it. There are several songs already released that make use of a baritone guitar in real life. Pat Smear of the Foo Fighters plays a baritone. So does Benjamin Burley from Breaking Benjamin. Pat Metheny, Mike Mushok, Dave Matthews, Don Ross, Brian Setzer, and the list goes on and on. Baritones are used in every genre from Jazz to Rock, to Metal. Anyway, I think we're both saying the same thing without realizing it. Your question/concern was whether or not another version of RS would be made. I think there are more than enough ways to improve on RS2014 to warrant a new version.

  7. We will be adding a new rule in regards to the song selection list. The beginner song was selected by liquidlizard who if you do some checking doesn't normally compete in the competition although he creates customs and adds them to the song selection list. From this point on anyone who adds a song to the selection list and does not normally participate will have the selections ignored. This competition is here for everyone but if you don't participate on a frequent basis (IE at least 3 out of 4 weeks in a month) then we must allow the people who do participate to have a higher chance of their song choices being selected. As I have always stated the difficulty of a song will always be different for every person. Taking this weeks song into account the beginner song was too difficult for most beginner players because the solo although small was very difficult. I allowed that song to be selected because I was trusting that people would chose appropriate songs for the class. I will from now on check at least the beginner song and make sure it is good for beginners. I originally only checked the song to make sure it met the requirements for selection (custom tone, Riff Repeater, lead and bass arrangement). With this new rule hopefully we will not run into this issue again.

  8. I don't see why you need to disable some parts of the song? You could ALL compete on your choice of three Intermediate/hard songs - it would just be that each person would be assigned a level (beginner, Intermediate or Masterclass). The leaderboard would be only against people at your own 'level' (per song).. Sounds easier to manage :) As I said my concern is that on "score attack" after 3 parts down you're kicked out like "GAME OVER" so most of the time I can't post any score... I must admit that my idea is not realystic and managing competition is already enough complicated for Krazyone and Motive (thanks to them). I need to improve myself, that's just what I need! :D I think you'd get more people entering it - if there were three songs to choose from - rather than being tied to one song (for the level you are at). It's a competition (of sorts) so you need something to aim for. Otherwise, what's the point of entering - you could just go off and practice it yourself..

  9. Game developers usually work on a 2 year cycle for these types of games (Rocksmith 2012, 2014 for example) so it will likely be 2016 before we see another one. There's always areas to improve in any game, so as long as sales support another version, I think we will see one. There are features and components that are missing or need improving in the current version that could warrant a Rocksmith 2016. For instance, does RS2014 support the complete scale of a baritone guitar? I believe the game has problems once you go above the 22nd fret. And full support for 7,8, and 12 string guitars would be a nice addition. The guitarcade games could use some work to make them a little less childish as well. No offense to the younger crowd, but Return to Castle Chord Gate (or whatever it's called) and Scale Warriors, as well as some of the other games, are a little too cheesy to hold my interest. However, the fundamentals they teach are very important to learning how to play properly. Some of the other teaching components need to be refined as well. Rocksmith is great at recognizing missed notes, and telling you about how to perform skills (slides, etc), but it's not very good at helping you make adjustments while perfecting those skills. It also doesn't differentiate between hitting notes in a song, and actually getting the groove of a song right. Anyway, I think there will always be a market for learning tools on gaming systems, as it allows people to get comfortable learning something without worrying about being embarrassed, or being judged by a teacher, etc. It's also cheaper in the long run, in most cases.

  11. Yeah, the "missions" aren't that specific. Most of the song related ones work on customs or official tracks. And they work in Learn A Song mode too. For the most part, the missions are either playing around with different parts of the game (Score Attack as mentioned, the Guitarcade games, the Tone Designer) and the rest are pretty lame things like "Score XX% on Song X", with Song X usually being something you've already been playing (so custom or official, it doesn't matter). After a while, the missions usually degrade to being simply "Play X new songs". Oh, and get ready to be told to "Check out the Chord Book" a billion times. I get that message every time I complete a mission. Also, if you want some custom inlays and you're a PC user, there's a thread for that here. Looks interesting, but I'm a Mac user so it won't work for me.

  12. I had a Songster download that was a guitar pro 3 file. EoF almost always crashed when I tried to import from that file. Tried downloading again and same thing. Does EoF prefer a certain version of guitar pro file?

  15. Personally I just ignore the words "Beginner", "Intermediate" and "Masterclass". If I like a song then I will play the shit out of it until I nail it (or at least as best I can within the week ;) ).

  16. People keep posting that a song needs to be challenging, but that doesn't mean it can be any difficulty you want and call the excess difficulty a 'challenge'. When people have higher accuracy for the intermediate than the beginner lead, it's just no longer a challenge. There's something called the 'zone of proximal development', which basically says that people learn best when they learn things that are only just above their level. If you go higher than that, performance (and learning) drops drastically. That's what's happening here, so nobody is actually challenging themselves to learn something new simply because they can't learn it.

  17. Don't know if this helps but just want to let people know that this works for Rock Smith, I recently bought a Joyo Pro Electric Digital bass/guitar wireless system JW-01 $100 off eBay and a Neutrik 1/4" Cable Extension Adapter Connector Jack - Female to Female for $5. Idea was to just have my Rock smith USB cable plugged in with the extension adapter and Wireless system out of the way so i could play Rock smith without having that cable getting in the way. Battery is suppose to last 6 hours continuous play and can be charge by USB. It works awesomely doesn't must a beat and I have the freedom to move around more when i play without that dam cable in the way. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTAwWDUwMA==/z/rRQAAMXQyFFTktak/$_12.JPGhttp://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTAwWDUwMA==/z/yLcAAOxyj4hTJs61/$_12.JPG

  18. My beginner lead result for this week... The solo is killing me... I have something like 99% accuracy in other parts of the song and 1% accuracy in the solo. :) http://s27.postimg.org/f519nqc77/2014_07_10_00003.jpg

  19. I understand that the beginner song may seem a bit difficult but honestly if every song is easy then what are we learning? I thought about changing the beginner song as I don't see anyone playing it but honestly guys you should all be trying to play it as it will help push you out of your comfort zone so you can learn more. As I have always said some songs are going to be a lot harder than others and the beginner song this week was chosen by a member and placed in the beginner selection list. Even if you don't get a great score on the song you guys should all be trying it to challenge yourselves. This might help push your confidence because it will hopefully make you say to yourself, "hey if I can play that then I shouldn't be scared to try INT and MC songs". The song has a lot of power chords surely over 80% of it if i remember correctly which is why I didn't change it. It is also a relatively small solo which with practice and Riff Repeater you guys should be able to learn. Don't be intimidated by a song that seems difficult because if you allow it to intimidate you you will never move on to the next level.

  20. My names tris, I'm 35, I'm still fairly new to the forums, electric guitar and Rocksmith. I might as well say thank you top the site admins and all the contributors whilst I'm here, this is a fantastic site and has a lot of great members. I have been playing games since I was 4, started on the Spectrum ZX81 and had pretty much every console/computer since.... though I am now using just my gaming rig for all my gaming needs these past years. I grew up with music around me a lot, my sister played the guitar, my other sisters husband is a gigger (singing) that he's done for donkeys, and I started singing at around 11. Over the years, its taken quite a toll on my voice, and I do still sing (to myself most the time), but I also wanted to express myself with an instrument. Until around 2 months ago, I had never really picked up a guitar in any seriousness and only had a go on a keyboard a few times, but suffering with various mental illnesses I hit a bit of a block and a couple of people on youtube inspired me to learn to play, Daniel Tidwell and FamilyJules7X, and I have never looked back since. I have go in with a really nice and helpful crowd over at my usual forums I have been a member of for the past 10 years, and they have helped me pick my gear and point me in the right direction, so I'm very grateful of them, they are also the people who I first learned about Rocksmith from and I was pointed here for cdlc which I am equally grateful for as some stuff here isn't likely to ever be released on Rocksmith like game and movie soundtracks/themes and certain songs. I started out with an Epiphone Les Paul Special II, RS/RS2014 and a 10w Vox starter amp.... and for some reason or another over the past 2 months I have accumulated a bit of kit (with some help of some family and friends: Epiphone Les Paul Special II electric guitarMarshall JMD1 (JMD50) with 6 button foot pedal / pedal lead / cabinet lead / power cableHercules GS301B TravLite Foldable Lightweight Acoustic Guitar StandSnark SN8 supertight all instrument tuner Various cables and picks/plectrumsKyser Electric Guitar Quick Change Capo - BlackSchaller Security Strap Locks - NickelHarley Benton G212 Vintage (2x Celestial Vintage 30 speakers 12")Levy's M4GFDBR 3.5-inch Leather and Suede Guitar StrapZOOM R8 Audio Pro MultitrackThe Justinguitar.Com Beginner's Guitar Course (Book & 2 Cds)The Justinguitar.Com Beginner's Song Book v2The Justinguitar.Com Pop Song BookThe Justinguitar.Com Rock Song BookThe Justinguitar.Com You Tube Videos for beginners course and song booksThe Andyguitar.co.uk You Tube Videos for beginners course My very old stereo amp and speakers so I can play back what I recorded on the Zoom Kenwood KA-1060wharfadale diamond 9.0 speakers So far I'm loving learning to play, I know theres a lot more work ahead of me, but it's a great hobby and I thoroughly enjoy it. 22. You folks may be getting confused. There are TWO Library folders in a Mac. (Actually, there are THREE - but most people don't find the third one too often). There is one that's in the ROOT of your hard drive. So if your hard drive is labeled "Macintosh HD" (most of them are by default) then you might find this Library folder: MACINTOSH HD | ---> LIBRARY This is the Library folder that applies to the ENTIRE computer. It has stuff in there that is in effect no matter what user account is logged in. That's NOT the Library folder we are looking for. We want the one that's actually particular to your user account. So let's say your name is John Doe and your home account's "shortname" is named 'johndoe' - the CORRECT path would then be: MACINTOSH HD | ---> USERS | ------> johndoe | -------> LIBRARY | -------> APPLICATION SUPPORT | -------------> STEAM etc... Now an extra wrinkle is that the Library folder is hidden by default with the newer OS versions. But there's an easy way around it. You can just ask the Finder to open that window directly, without having to navigate from folder to folder. All you do, is while on the Finder, select the GO menu at the top, then select the option "Go to folder…" and up will pop a field asking to TYPE the folder you want it to open. Here's the super easy shortcut: Type in this window the following text (minus the quote marks): "~/Library/Application Support/Steam" The important thing (and what may have been tripping you folks up, is that you MUST put that "~" wavy line symbol BEFORE the first slash mark… that character is a TILDE. It's usually the shifted character of the single-quote mark at the very top-left corner of a standard North American keyboard - next to the numeral "1" key and right below the ESCape key. Anyway, if you type that line in the Go to folder field box, and then press return, you will be taken STRAIGHT to the Steam folder and you can now continue to navigate until you find the appropriate DLC folder. Good luck! Picture of the "Go to the folder" field box: https://www.dropbox.com/s/na5jhz7yvx72lek/Screenshot%202014-07-05%2023.36.34.png -fw

  23. Thanks, I think sometimes I'm pretty fast learning software, so maybe next century I'll have it finished... LOL I got the idea, I'll try to get it running this weekend if possible. Thanks for the information. EDIT 1: after many tries, i got an .ogg (no .wem at all, tried checking and unchecking any button on te pack/unpack section. Maybe because the mac versions only allow to extract 2014 ogg and are no version running on mac that is supposed to work with 2012 wem?) and the .ogg file was usseless as if it was corrupted. I converted then my own MP4 file to ogg but then time is not acurate with the old one, so got another problem to solve... Adding some leaging space solves partially the problem. Now have to deal with BPM and maybe introduce some spaces... Got also a new one mp3 version, just in case... I'll keep on trying.

  24. Hi, I just downloaded yesterday the custom song toolkit for mac, but still didn't find a tutorial on how to import and convert dat to psarc. Could you be kind enough to point me to tehe right place if you know where or how? I want soooooooo much to have the two door cinema "what you know", you cannot imagine... P.S.: i'm running a Mac version and in despite of adding mono framework and X developers kit, it's been a quite unstable program.
