CDLC Not Working After I Switched to Previous Version to Fix Launch Issues. How do I fix it?

Question

Posted

Yesterday, I was having issues where my game was not loading properly and crashed after only starting for a few seconds. I found a solution to that online that says I should revert it to a previous version using the beta thing, and that fixed the not loading properly issue, but now my CDLC is no longer showing up! How do I fix this? Thank you.

just dont use RSMODS

OP never stated using RS mods. OP did state that went back to Beta. Using or not using RS mods does not change the fact that OP will still need the correct version of the D3DX9_42.dll to work. Expressing your frustration in this manner by obfuscating is not helpful to the OP. In fact, is the opposite. Nor did it help your cause.

I should take the high road, but false information needs corrected [beta version / D3DX9_42.dll version]. If Op was using RS mods, then yes, it is a good idea to remove to figure out the problem, however the CDLC will still not work with an incorrect .dll version.

it broke a month ago for alot of ppl and ppl are in denial about it.

If OP says nothing about using RS mods, RS mods not being mentioned once, How am I in denial? I don't use RS mods, sorry. Still does not change the fact in order to use CDLC the correct version of the D3DX9_42.dll needs to be used. The CDLC not showing may or may not be the same issue, we will not know until the OP responds.

Congrats on getting banned. Dunno exactly what you did to get banned, nor do I care. Obviously wasn't this unhelpful post, but attacking Staff and using slurs, was not a good idea.

I need the download link for the previous version of the .DLL file

rename or move the current .dll, the game will not work with multiple D3DX9_42.dll copies or versions.

I had it posted somewhere in the How to Use Custom dlc thread, it is buried somewhere in that thread. @ Nick Beat has a link on the current last page of that thread as well, (page 52)

You need the Cherub Rock Or a ODLC to use the Beta and previous .dll version as well. Hopefully you have that, if not you will have to use CustomForge Song Manager to change song ids to a oDLC that you own for it to work.

In order to use the Beta version you will need to use the previous D3DX9_42.dll.  It is about 126- 127kb in size. (I say this / size of the file so that you can differentiate between .dll versions).

Note, if you use the Beta and have a cpu with a high thread count (i.e. 32 thread /13900k cpu) Rocksmith will not work with the older .dll

Me not using RS mods is correct. I need the download link for the previous version of the .DLL file so I can both launch the game and access my CDLC.

Update: Before I downloaded any of that, I tested to see if for some reason reinstalling the normal version of the game would work, and it seems to work now, for some reason. That is strange.
