Rocksmith won't start with the .dll file on the folder

AndrePD

Question

Hey guys, first of all I'd like to say I'm new here so forgive all the rookie mistakes.

I started playing CLDCs in 2018 but stopped in early 2019 and I'm returning just now.

I've restored my computer to it's factory settings recently and had to re-install the game and download the .dll again and move it to the game's folder... AGAIN.

So, I've downloaded the .dll file and did everything that had to be done but as soon as I click to start the game, nothing happens. Absolutely nothing.

When I removed the .dll from the game's folder it started just like that.

Can you guys help me fix that?

To fix that problem, you need to buy the game on steam. It's available for $8.30 (USD) on GameBillet

To be fair I had this problem with my legally bought steam version, the dll from the songmanager didn't work and I had to get it off the "use cdlc" bit. No idea why it happened, maybe just a dodgy csfm install that corrupted the dll?

I do own the game and that does not help with the fact that I can't start it with the .exe file or the shorcuts on the desktop.  It only works if i start it from the steam app.

If I remember correctly, old versions of CFSM would download the wrong DLL and your game wouldn't work (but don't quote me on that). A problem caused by the DLL is typically caused by a non-legitimate copy of the game that isn't supported by the dll.
