Notification for Updates but not comments

Hi guys, I love the idea of being able to subscribe to be notified if the song I download is updated, but unless I'm missing something (and I may) it doesn't seem to discriminate between updates and comments.

 

Is there a setting or something I'm missing or something I can do, or is it just the way things are setup in that version updates are treated as a comment? I ask because I already get way too much email and if i start getting more anytime there's a comment my inbox is just going to be even more of a mess. I noticed there is a new forum for the desktop app, so if this is something I should just wait for that's cool.

A few people have raised this issue before. I see your point and the solution is not really obvious
 
What you can try is go to your settings -> Notification Options
 
Under "Other Notifications" there is:

"Notify me of new comments"
 
And under "Pages" there is:
"Notification method to use for article subscriptions"
"Notification method for new versions of CDLC you follow"

 

The last seems to be responsible for the separate "version notification", so maybe you can disable the comments with one of the other settings.

I only have the box for "e-mail" ticked for "Notification method for new versions of CDLC you follow" and I never got e-mails about new comments, only in-forum notifications. So maybe that is what you are looking for

 

 

I, too, would like to get rid of the endless "Thank you!" posts in the CDLC-comments. But on the other hand I don't want to miss real discussions about the songs, so I guess I will keep subscribed :(

Would be nice to have the "Thanks" button on the CDLC page to encourage people to use that instead of a post...

 

 

The desktop app should be able to notifiy you of new versions, too, yes.

Agreed, need a thanks button on the record page to clear up posts and streamline notifications.

So is there a way of seeing which DLC I have that has been updated and needs updating in my collection then?

I couldn't see a flag in the desktop app or ignition?

You'll have to wait for the next version of ignition first (getting closer and closer to release we promise!) to get most of the option you ask for.

 

As for the thanks button for CDLC there's the "like" option :

Why do I have not the option "Notification method for new versions of CDLC you follow"

 

For like maybe one year now I don't have update CDLC notification anymore I'm pretty sure this is linked.
