  3. Greetings folks. Recently I've decided to play around with EOF and CDLCs for Rocksmith 2014. And after a lot of trial and error and blood and sweat and tears, I've finally managed to finish it up: Carol Ann, by Coheed and Cambria. The main problem is that I myself can't test to see if it works, because the guitar I used for Rocksmith has really been acting up lately. Before I submitted it, I wanted to see if anyone here would be interested in playing it and supplying feedback to any mistakes I might've made, since the entire thing was charted by hand. I'm extremely interested in feedback, if anyone would be so kind! In addition: tone recommendations are very welcomed. Right now I only have a premade one, and I'm sure there's better alternatives. Thanks it advance. ;) Download here. Edit 1: Snapping issue with notes, resnapped to proper timing, added a pair of missing notes, and fixed several incorrect chords.
  4. I will try to keep a list here of charters that have made customs for Taylor Swift. Please post if you see any errors or I missed one. 5. I just got my acoustic guitar connected to Rocksmith, and I did it pretty cheaply, so I thought I'd share what I did. You need two pieces of equipment: An Acoustic Pickup A PreAmpThere are a wide variety of acoustic pickups available, and you can spend quite a bit of money if you want to. Many are hard installed into your guitar, and require cutting a hole in the cabinet. The instructions on most of these suggest that you take it to a local guitar shop to have them do it for you. I wasn't interested in this... I also wanted to keep this on the cheap, and have something that was removable. Therefore, I purchased an HDE® Guitar Pickup Acoustic / Electric Transducer at Amazon for $17. It's removable, connecting to the soundhole of your guitar with little clips. It has an output cable (male) that dangles from your guitar. The signal coming from the pickup is weak, so you need to amplify it. Again, looking for a cheap option, I purchased a Behringer PB100 Preamplifier/Volume Booster at Amazon for $25. You can buy a power cable (it doesn't come with one), but it can also run on a 9V battery. I set the gain at about 40% (maybe 45%) to balance out feedback and still have the game detect your notes. Plug the cable from your acoustic pickup into the IN of the PreAmp, plug the RealTone cable into the OUT of the PreAmp, turn it on, and you're ready to go. Works like a charm!
  6. Hello dear custom-playing, riff-repeating, score-attacking people of CF! Well I'm looking to buy my first Acoustic this summer (been playing electric for 2 years now), and I did some research on a fine guitar that won't break the bank & found this. I play mostly bluesy, hard rock stuff on my LP but I'm getting this one mostly for folk stuff + songwriting. It'd be awesome if someone could give me an advice on if it fits the genre I'm going for or if there's a better guitar I can get within this price range. Here's the official instrument link: http://www.cortguitars.com/en/product/mr710f-1 I have problems with embedding Youtube videos so here's a link to Acoustic Guitar Magazine review: https://youtu.be/NAat20cJ9aY P.S. I live in Iran so because of the sanctions there's no Epiphone, Gibson, Martin here. It's mostly Cort, Ibanez & Yamaha Lots o love & keep on rocking http://www.cortguitars.com/img/product_colors/MR710F_hz.png
  7. I just got my first Electro Acoustic guitar today, I got it mainly so I could record with it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I did plug it into my Marshall Amp. and it sadly removed the acoustic sound. and made it sound like a full on electric, I was kinda disappointed. But i'd like to record it, likely straight to the PC. so any advice on programs, setup, settings, etc, would be great. thanks, -Dev
  8. I have enjoyed Rocksmith very much for a while, so much so that I bought a bass guitar last year to play the bass tracks (well worth the $200). Up until yesterday, I used my electric guitar for both the lead and rhythm tracks. I had thought about using my acoustic-electric (acoustic guitar with 1/4" jack output) to play the rhythm tracks but the posts from people here who tried Rocksmith with acoustics seemed to be only moderately successful and not worth the effort. Yesterday I plugged in my acoustic-electric (Taylor, with Expression System electronics) and gave Rocksmith a whirl. I did the following - maxed out the Rocksmith input gain setting, turned off the Taylor guitar body sensor (leaving only the Taylor string sensor), and turned the Rocksmith guitar output down to 0% (the sound from my guitar was loud enough by itself). Wow, was I impressed! The notes seemed to be picked up perfectly by Rocksmith for both chords or individual notes. The feeling/sound of playing an actual acoustic to a rhythm track was 100% better than playing a simulated acoustic. It was also nice to have more fretboard space to do fingerpicking and chord work. I can't believe I didn't try this sooner. My scores with the acoustic were generally higher than my scores for the same tracks with the electric. So, if you have a decent quality acoustic-electric guitar, give it a try.
  9. I was just curious if anyone wanted to start a kind of Charting Group. where we make Custom Acoustic versions of popular songs. that would be fun for people to learn to sing and play on their own. I've been working on a pretty fun acoustic version of 'Watching over me' by iced earth. it has some great picking parts. I'm nearly finished working it out on the guitar. the next step would be to try to find a way to record the acoustic version. then tab it up. then learn how to make a CDLC out of it. But that's my plan, So I was thinking it'd be fun to start a group of people doing the same thing, for everyone. that is if anyone is interested. -Dev
  10. Everybody knows when it comes to guitar play, you must be able to play an acoustic. It's harder to play than an electric. So I found a cheap way to connect to Rocksmith, which works amazingly well with these two items for less than 20€, Acoustic pickup female to female connector there seems even an offer to have a 2nd Rocksmith cable, the 3 items for about 30€
  11. I decided i wanted to do a acoustic guitar cover for the the Mozart song in Bachsmith. I don't have an electric acoustic guitar so I cant plug it in with the cable so I thought I could use the program OBS to record the guitar with my microphone and the in game audio at the same time. I tried to preview the stream but it said a program was in audio exclusive mode so I went to the settings and it was off (http://prntscr.com/4h2shd ). I restarted both programs to see if it needed to and the error came up again. I went to the OBS settings and made sure my mic was selected ( http://prntscr.com/4h2rmq ). Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this???
