Newly created custom does not start
Rockfirstlast replied to JamesPrestonUK's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Maybe a repack on another machine will help? Upload the project files. -
- When the same chord appears more than once in a song - If you try changing the name of a single chord using the N key menu, the new name will not save in the XML UNLESS you select YES to "Update other matching notes in this track to have the same name". One might think "If it's the same chord, why would you give it different names at different parts of the song?" Sometimes the chord name overlaps onto the next note on the highway and it's cleaner to remove it in that instance. You can hide it by giving it a single space for a name.

Cannot resume after pausing
Rockfirstlast replied to JamesPrestonUK's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Don't know why it's freezing, but I can tell you why you got that COUNT error. The program automatically creates a phrase called COUNT at the first beat marker (you can't see it in EOF, but it's written in the XML). If you have another phrase name there, it can't create that COUNT phrase. Assuming you gave yourself a fair amount (about 6 seconds) of leading silence, a solution to this is give yourself 4 empty beats. That way your intro phrase is on beat 4, and your count phrase is on beat 1. (4 empty beats is a suggestion, 8 beats is cool for really fast songs, 3 or 6 for songs in 3/4 time signature). That will get rid of the COUNT error message. Bad WEM files used to freeze while pausing but the latest beta toolkit will create the WEM file for you. -
Thanks, I did what you did in the picture, except kept the chord where it belonged, link nexted, and pushed the blue 4 up a bit.

Thanks for all the updates. I created two notes with crazy sustain. Then I CTRL+SHIFT+H the notes. After saving (and restarting EOF) the sustain length of the first note stops at the second note. http://i.imgur.com/re2pKi7.png It's not that crazy sustain doesn't work within handshapes (cause it does here:) http://i.imgur.com/3VFTix2.png but it cuts that first note short cause it's a "chord". Is there a way around this? If not, no biggie I can just edit the XML it's a pretty rare occurrence.

That would be very helpful.

You are on PC? You need to download a file first. http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/ Also buy Cherub Rock.
-
I accidentally overwrote it, but it doesn't matter anymore cause the new hotfix makes everything much easier. No need to end on a ghost note anymore.
-
If you don't want large gaps in between handshapes, mark when you want the handshape to end with a ghost note and include that in your CTRL+H.
-
Sorry if I'm jumping in and getting things wrong, but is this what you're going for?
-
For my 1920*1080 monitor I do this: File-Display-Display 1024*768 then File-Display-Set Display Width 1900 Not exactly full screen, but plenty of space to work with.

Working with many BPM changes in a song?
Rockfirstlast replied to DeadlyPower's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Check out these topics on beatmaps: http://customsforge.com/topic/5099-how-to-sync-your-beat-map/ http://customsforge.com/topic/5136-using-beat-markers-to-sync-in-eof/ http://customsforge.com/topic/2393-how-to-get-beat-map/ -
Cool thanks.

I've noticed an issue. -Create a chord -Make one of the notes a ghost note -Press H for hammer on -Create a new note somewhere else The ghosted note will turn into a regular note. Trying to add the status again won't hold. It's kind of a weird thing to ask for, but it has it's uses.
-
If you want to fix the beatmap it's easier if you zoom in and enable the metronome by pressing the M key. If you want a beatmap that is already finished (ripped from the rock band version) you can download it and import your tab onto it. http://customsforge.com/topic/2882-the-third-way-to-chart-customs-with-guitar-herorockbandpsfrets-on-fire-templates/

Cool thanks dude. A million more thanks for the dialogue focus thing.
-
Here is an example file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eczxxabm65i4lsp/Test06-15%20-%20Test06-15.rar?dl=0 In the difficulty level 1 tab there are four notes. If you select them and CTRL+SHIFT+H, the purple bar doesn't appear and the handshape isn't written. They are toggled crazy though.
-
Thanks for everything, can I ask something else? The "Click to change dialogue focus" option is checked by default. It there a way to make this unchecked forever? It re-checks itself whenever I close the program. Another thing, when adding handshapes using CTRL+SHIFT+H funny stuff happens when adding difficulty levels. Something easily repeatable is this: When manually creating a new level for a section that has a handshape, the higher level section will usually switch to arpeggio. I don't know exactly how to repeat this, but sometimes when adding levels the handshapes will just disappear and CTRL+SHIFT+H won't work anymore for certain notes. Not too important since we have a DD creator now.

Cool. Good song to start out with.
