It was merely my opinion, not knocking you, or the script. You had an idea and ran with it.- 7 replies

no notifications from followed CDLC
Attitude replied to MeowMachine's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Unless the charter added a comment you won't get a notification on followed topics. An edit doesn't notify, but the CDLC gets bumped to the top of CDLC search. At least that's how it has always worked for me. -

Just gonna throw a little personal opinion out here. As a charter, I don't care for the idea. And as a user you'll never even see the feedback that may even tell you that there is an issue with the custom. Believe me I get it, but how many songs are you downloading at one time, and why, You can only play one at a time. That you are able to do this is great. But I put things in my release notes saying what parts are what, why a guitar part is the way it is and any problems are existing at the moment. So that gets skipped over. And not even looking at what someone has to say about something they have worked on for what has likely been hours is sort of like coming to my house for cookout, not bringing anything, drinking all my beer and leaving. Makes me wonder if I want to cookout anymore.- 7 replies

Tux guitar works just fine for what we are doing. The only thing I have found that it can't do ( and perhaps this is user error) is convert a gpx file to gp5 . And there are online converters for that.

So switch it up. Kinda like a new girlfriend,,,

Finger exercises. Warm up a bit before you play, The reason your hand gets fatigued is the same reason you can't be expected to go run 5 miles if you've been on the couch for a year. You have to play to get your muscles stronger. Scales will help some with this but honestly finger exercises are going to help you get stronger faster. When I first started playing guitar I played the Peter Gunn theme as an exercise ( my instructor showed me it ) and I still play it often as a warm up. But now I add string skipping and a much faster tempo, but it's the same pattern. I think Izzy posted some exercises on here. Or maybe it was just warm ups http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/bass-finger-exercises-r9 But anyway, practice, practice, practice, it should get better with time. Also, just out of curiosity, how long do you play when you DO play. If you get used to long sessions that should make it take longer before you get sore. Some days I start playing and my hand hurts very early, other days I can play for hours. And a few more exercises for you http://search.customsforge.com/?a=You .

You don't launch the game through the patch. Just double click the Rocksmith 2014 icon and proceed to rock on.

I leave the auto speed up on 100% difficulty , with 0 error tolerance. Then play at say 50% speed. Once you hit all the notes it will automatically speed you up 10%. Repeat until at 100%. Profit!!! I also work on the song in small sections, that way you burn the section into muscle memory.

Try the other dx9 file. I'm assuming you get the Dos prompt at game launch. The songs are showing up. So the app id is fine. I have black sunshine And I wanna rock. Both work.

It's $5 for all five songs. They are the bachsmith pack. I doubt it will be much cheaper.
-
I just watched the first two videos,, yep,, I'm buying it. Without a doubt.

I don't play a ton of DD songs. And the in game ones have been acting normally. I have seen customs start at silly low levels but one play through is all that is needed to ramp them up. But I've not had one not save the progress though.
-
And I've never had to readjust after playing them. Odd.
-
The .dll file causes that. The game will keep your level after you play a song but they will all start low. There is NO fix except to adjust them up as you said you know how to do. Sorry, it's a side effect that is irritating, but harmless.

Do you need to own RS1 for the Disc Import tool to work on 2014?
Attitude replied to Sorrelity's question in Rocksmith Remastered
The original Rocksmith was a compromise. The developers knew they COULD do more, but with a very small team and time constraints they released the best product they could. Ubisoft saw a success and gave the green light for RS2014. With a larger team, more money and more time RS2014 improved greatly with techniques, much improved lessons and more refined arcade games. Now they had to license the songs and,, oh shit,. New game, New license. I thought the way they did it was about as good as it gets. At least we got to keep our Dlc from RS1 as well, since I had almost all of it. $10 for all those songs, heck yes. Also please remember Ubisoft is like the bank for these games. They don't make them, the just out up the money and distribute them. Like MGM. -

Attitude replied to Sorrelity's question in Rocksmith Remastered
not exactly. You'll be getting how ever many songs were on the disc for like $25. I think you can get the game for $15 now and then $10 for the import tool. 52 on disc songs, $25. 50 cents a song. Sounds like a bargain to me. -
Well, I was somewhat the voice of reason,,, somewhat.

Size limit, length limit of CDLC (Sleep - Dopesmoker)
Attitude replied to cloudsong's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Um, there was a measure limit in EoF that has been increased, but I'm not sure as to how many measures it can be. The file size would be pretty darn big for an hour long song. Figuring it takes at least a few hours to chart a normal 5 minute song,, an hour would just be dreadful to try to chart. -
Include Rocksmith retail songs in CDLC Search
Attitude replied to Azrael's question in Rocksmith Remastered
It was an on disc song,, there is a list for charters to reference for that. http://customsforge.com/topic/170-complete-list-of-official-rsrs2014-songsdlc-do-not-create-cdlc-of-these/ https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiY-0gPAbdwRdFEyOVgwd0M0eTM0MFpLbVJQcDEtZEE&usp=sharing Song has been removed. -
BlueTac covered it pretty well. Feedback is important. Also with around 7000 songs in your DLC folder the game would load very slowly. And I'd hate to see how long it would take to enumerate that many at once. Also, Customs Forge doesn't actually have the songs, we are simply a link to the charters storage. So if there was a way to hit download all. You would have 7000 links open, I doubt that would work.
