  1. Taking Care of Business on bass = 99.05%... getting close
  2. I notice your streak and multiplier are the same as mine and wonder if there might be a tiny sync issue at that point. I seems to miss the note after the slide from the 7th on A. It could be that we're both just losing pace a bit after that slide but I had been pretty thorough in rr with that phrase and 9 out of 10 times I get a miss... I'll give it a try on t'other bass with AP's in case it's a recognition issue due to lack of gain on the jazz bass, but it doesn't sound nearly as nice :( I have had problems on the slides, but like you mention in post 76, "it's a me issue". If I concentrate on the slide, I get it right. If I get lazy, less so. I tend to mess up one or two bars before the slide.
  3. BTO on bass 98.38%. I agree that 100% should be doable this week
  4. After an hour in RR at 75% or 80% speed... BTO bass 97%
  5. Here's my scheduled mid-week uptick - Dead End Friends on bass 89%. The score is only a few percent higher, but the playing seems less worse.
  6. Thanks @@albatross213, @@Gamut and @@Mortalo, I probably spend an hour a day in RR at about 80% speed trying to work the kinks out of the advanced bass track for the week. I try to get to the point of near zero misses before speeding it up in small steps. My difficulty is that the time limit forces me to step up to full speed before my skill level is ready. I'm afraid of reinforcing sloppy habits.
  7. Dead End Friends on bass is up to 85% but still feels like a random note generator on the last third. I decided to try something easier just for fun and got over 98% on Goodnight Moon bass on my 2nd and 3rd attempts. I've got a sinking feeling that working on songs that are too far over my head does more harm than good because I can't learn them and build up my speed in one week, so I make do with sloppy as long as I get a valid score.
  8. I love the bass line on Rocky Diwali. My untrained ears don't hear any problems with the CDLC
  9. Dead End Friends on bass = 83%. I can't do this song justice in RR at 80% speed let alone full speed.
  10. On Rudy Can't Fail bass, I've been working for days with only the slightest uptick, so here it is - 97.25%
  11. How is everyone getting 99% plus in Rudy Can't Fail on bass? I just can't get the slides to resister. Other than sucking, am I doing something else wrong
  12. @@queengeedorah - you can choose the class that you start in. Just jump in and have some fun.
  13. I finally made it through Rudy Can't Fail on lead without getting leveled down on the sections where the bar chord slides into F#m. I'll take the 77% as a good result for now and try to improve tomorrow. Oddly enough, my number of misses doesn't drop by too much when I slow it down in RR. Regardless of the cause, the solution is practice.
  14. Rudy Can't Fail seems a little tough for beginners lead with the sliding barcords and frequent changes in position on the neck. Here's where I got after an hour of work. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=452239674 I haven't played the bass part recently but it is certainly advanced http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=452239555 (and fun). Now I have reason to slow it down in RR and learn all of the nuances that I was missing.
  15. Well, the only way to fairly measure the playing is in Score Attack, just like the weekly challenge. All that needs to be added is the use of Master Mode to hide the notes on the note highway. Videos, while a bonus, wouldn't be required.
  16. I decided to stop being a whining capital B and play the advanced bass song for the week, regardless or genre or tuning. I won't admit to drinking the Kool-Aid, but I did OK on the song after a few runs through in RR. I got up to 98.25%, but stopped there to avoid the debate about getting added to the traffic jam up in Master Class Bass. For the record, I vote to let @@missis sumner stay in advanced because her scores will have no bearing on my learning or enjoyment, and scores don't really matter.
  17. I finally got through Eternally Missed on lead without a section leveling down. 88%, but a valid score. I need some bass therapy.
  18. test post, as requested
  19. Has anyone come up with a NDD version of Eternally Missed? RS keeps leveling me down on the bar cords.
  20. Confession is good for the soul. We can consider ourselves cleansed.
  21. I'm having trouble with the selections for my classes this week. For advanced bass, the genre just doesn't interest me and I really hate the floppy strings on low tunings. I've worked on Cradle of Filth for an hour or so and ran it through once to get a score on the board and do something else. 80% I much prefer the Muse selection. It's taken a lot more work in RR at a lot slower speeds too. So far, I'm at 88% accuracy, but the score is not valid because I got leveled down in one section. The ugly truth is that in all of the palm mutes, I'm playing single notes instead of doublets, and the system doesn't notice the MISS. I really prefer this song so I'm going to focus on this one this week. I'll slow it right down in RR until I'm satisfies with my performance and then up the speed a little at a time. Edit, On Muse, I'm playing lead, bot bass.
  22. Everything I've played in the last week seems to have gotten worse rather than better except Chains and Things on bass = 97.43%. I doubt that this will change any standings, but I wasn't satisfied with my previous score.
  23. Cities on Fire bass is up to 88% but I don't see much possibility for improvement. I just don't have the speed.
