  1. Good call. Slash made me pick up my first guitar Rocksmith made me get a bass Yeah I'm thinking of getting a Bass...what with all the Rush customs and RHCP...I want a bass badly but I recently got a new guitar so it's not in the stars for me...yet ;)
  2. Hey guitarists, Does anyone else 'tuck' their pinky in on their fretting hand...When I do barre chords or need my pinky it comes up and works just fine, I can do bends with it, but I feel I have no control over my pinky on my fretting hand. Like it's the least 'worked out' or adept finger on my hand. How do I reverse this habit/ problem as I took a video of myself playing and it looks very awkward, it also makes my hand tense. I want my pinky to just chill and be a bit more useful like the rest of my fingers. Are there exercises to help incorporate my pinky more? Does anyone else have this problem/habit? How would you suggest I fix this? I try to be conscious of it when I'm playing, but still it keeps tucking and I use my three fingers. Please help. Thank you!
  3. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this... there needs to be a 'clear search/ clear filter option' to redirect back to the ignition home page that shows the most recent CDLCs...I find myself having to close the browser tab and reset the page. Just a suggestion :)
  4. well that just cleared things up, thanks so sooo much!
  5. What do you think is the hardest song you can play dude? Great work for sticking with it, you'll only get super good from here.
  6. Good question... I would say Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd...I wanted to play like David Gilmour so badly....Hence why I started with Stratocasters (his preferred instrument), I still love their sound but kind of moved on from just wanted to sound like him, and to embrace a whole variety of styles. But that's what got me to pick up my guitar in the first place.
  7. Hey Chlip, Found some more for yea. Will you release a new version of DDC? Hope these are helping you! -(I added DD to this myself) Jeff Beck - 'Cause We've Ended as Lovers' http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/cause-weve-ended-as-lovers-r2792 -(I added DD to this myself) Black Keys - Goodbye Babylon http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/goodbye-babylon-r16413 - Iron Maiden - Death or Glory http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/death-or-glory-r17237 - Iron Maiden - Empire of the Clouds http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/empire-of-the-clouds-nacholedes-version-r18220
  8. Sure no problem, here are a few that have this going on: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/comfortably-numb-r3621 http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/the-book-of-souls-r17221 I used the DD_p.psarc
  9. Tested a few different CDLCs, which I had originally downloaded with DD...the files themselves say DD_p.psarc for example. When I play the song, the difficulty is at 0, and can not be changed, therefore it's not just a problem with the graph display itself...The song is maxed and can't be lowered or raised, it's as if the DD doesn't exist. So to answer your question, no, the DD is not there in game. Some customs with DD work just fine, but a few are like this and all that I've tried to add DD to do this. Any thoughts?
  10. Hmm good questions Chlip, will try and get back to you. RST is version 2.6.1.0 DDC is 2.7

    Mixer

You can also raise the patch cord levels (your guitar volume itself)...you have to do this every time you start the game. (Will only work on PC version to my knowledge). Open the game, load it up as usual...alt+tab out of the game > right click the speaker/mixer icon on the lower right hand side of your windows toolbar (not sure what it is for mac) > click 'recording devices' > right click rocksmith cable and go to 'properties'> go to the levels tab at the top > I turn it up to 97 or so, the default is only 17. This will increase the guitar sound.
  12. Hey, I was hesitating to make a thread, but why not ask you guys... So I recently got a new computer (windows 7 to 8.1) and had to reinstall both rocksmiths themselves, steam, the .dll folder, toolkit and all the cdlcs. Some cdlcs say that they have DD, and then when I load them in game, well the DD chart shows up when I select the song but it is all one level (as if you had learned it to maybe 80% or so). Then when I start the song, no DD -- the graph appears flat as if it never existed. I'm curious as to why it isnt working when I've had this work before. An example is say Nacholede's Iron Maiden 'Death or Glory' (who does quality kick*** customs so I know it's on my end). Also, this happens when I add DD myself in toolkit (I tried various options as well). So anyone have this happen? Know what the problem could be? Some help/ insight would be great. Thanks...I'm not as techno savvy as some of you. Thanks a bunch.
  13. the can can rofl...ok this will be fun though...
  14. Yeah , I'm loving it. Now if I could only play that well :)
  15. Nice! Does it sound good? How much you pay for it?
  16. Ahhh, this is a HUGE help. Thank you guys, I knew you would know! Kind of eyeing up the ath-m50x on the site firekorn suggested, you said u have those too albatross. Will shop around a bit. thanks again!
  17. Hey guys, need some headphones for when I'm practicing at night and don't want to bother anyone. I am not looking for earbuds. I play Guitar (lead mostly) if that makes a difference. I play RS on PC, but also want to plug headphones into my amp too for practice. So, what do you recommend? I don't want earbuds, just some good quality headphones (maybe something with it's own volume?) I understand the limits of headphones, but it would be nice to have something that sounds decent, I already use a pair of Sony's. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but I don't want to cheap out either. Let me know guys, it is greatly appreciated (links are helpful too!)
  18. All great advice here...also, 8 months is not that long (you're still getting comfortable) ...I find if I focus on one song rather than jumping all over the place with a bunch of songs I can get it down, (I also slowww the riffs down on RR and accelerate but do it at the same speed at 3 times to really learn the riff -- I also have to keep doing this a lot) At first when I started it took me a long time to get basics down. Now I can play a song a few times and get the pattern (what riffs go where) , the rhythm, the notes a lot quicker. It's just practice I think, give it more time , really. I like what everyone said about trying songs OUTSIDE of rocksmith, cuz that helps build confidence. Also, next time, say yes to jamming with your friends...you will learn as you go , most people are still learning too, this can be a very effective way to build confidence and help you learn your instrument... And, I play guitar, have a small neck and small hands, I use index and pinky on powerchords sometimes, whatever works man go with it, I don't think it's a bad habit as long as it's not slowing you down. (I did have a friend say 'play guitar like you have three fingers -- no pinky' so you can try consciously making an effort when you slow down to use the index and ring finger...use those muscles!) Good luck! Oh yeah, I really like what Tomsawyer said,...it's how long you remember it. I played Losing my Religion (My first song that I learned in entirety) about 50 times. I could play along with the song outside of Rocksmith and even made a dorky video for my friends to say, hey i can play this! But do I remember it now? nope. I forgot the song, well most of it...So did I learn the song? nope. I can play a riff or two from it sure, but I didn't 'learn' it , I can't sit there with a guitar in front of a campfire and play it. Practice the song often so it stays in your head and your hands remember where to go ^_^.
