  1. Not really a fan of small sections in cdlc, think there should be a cap to section lengths but anyway, testing/scores http://oi67.tinypic.com/ng225t.jpg http://oi65.tinypic.com/2611zko.jpg I actually played this a few times just to make sure, but guess which score is my dean and which one is the Schecter with the Dunlop Single Coil Jazz pickup? Go ahead ill give you a few minutes also my rate for this is 9 on difficulty, lots of bends, and once this song gets going, its a workout
  2. oh hey look a box http://oi66.tinypic.com/aaunlu.jpg Its a box in a box http://oi64.tinypic.com/wwn70w.jpg Oooh shiny http://oi65.tinypic.com/rizsjk.jpg This baby is sooo9ooooo nice http://oi65.tinypic.com/35bf4er.jpg
  3. Here you go @, you had the same argument a long long time ago but then as you practiced, it started to change a little It took you quite a bit of time as well, and you rated this a 7 but you're rating KC as something harder than this....
  4. @@Mortalo @Thread I'm open for discussion about the difficulty, but I need reasons other than "its difficult", because i've just highlighted two examples that feel harder and gave reasons. the dropped power chords have similar shapes of the single notes in the main verse, but the solo kicks KC's ass in difficulty, the chords are nothing too complicated prior to that run, which leaves the arpeggios, and another song that had a huge rise in difficulty due to arpeggios is Skyclad, and it was similar tempo and not too complicated arpeggios. Putting it at a 6 puts it on par with Comfortably Numb and Skyclad as far as difficulty goes, which i think is really accurate. Comfortably Numb opens up with some chords and then some pretty tricky lead hits that practice might not even hit, same with KC's arpeggios, some small string skipping in KC's solo keeps it at a solid 6, but nothing RR cant handle. Putting it at a 7 would be on par with The Grudge from tool, which has some very tricky riffs, is longer, and while no solo, the hand movement is much more active than KC. Putting it at an 8 would put it on par with The Wild Wind Blows. Which has a solo i still get an X on sometimes, a very active intro, and has some very wild changes. We have 120+ weeks of song ratings, i think difficulty should be really easy to determine now.
  5. @ I submit Canon Rock, Muffin Man, and Empyreal as my evidence, all of which were at least half as long as ironclast, and yet, we did way way way worse. Length isnt an issue when learning a song, its the difficulty. I'm sure I can add more songs to the list if you like :)
  6. My reasoning for below 7, this song has very similar tempo, riffs, but yet the solo is much harder than for In the Court of the Crimson King. I'll revert my diff rating to 6, I remember this one being very arpeggio heavy with a decently difficult solo, just like this weeks mc song
  7. Posting this only to show its possible to learn 10 minute songs within a week Day http://oi66.tinypic.com/2nriyqa.jpg
  8. Beginner MC Lead, first thoughts http://oi68.tinypic.com/1036clc.jpg Reasons: The RR Bar is off like albatross said, and I can see the possibility of crashes/save corruption the one that really gets me is that THERE ARE MISSING TECHNIQUE MARKS And i dont mean that they arent in the cdlc, but that they are present, but the track doesnt show them. I detected at least two slides i missed 100% of simply because i had no idea they were there. Another red flag is that the album art disappeared after i played the song. My last gripe is that i dont really feel this is a 9...or an 8...more like a 4 tops on difficulty, and thats the rating im giving it btw, 4.
  9. @albatross what version do you have? It seems OC made some sort of fix for lead crashes
  10. Just ordered my guitar, should be available tomorrow afternoon..... so uh, pics in about 24 hours :D :D :D
  11. Damnit, clicked on the link to find Sauce, but that setlist tho....sexy I'm sure if legit, we will see at E3, Rocksmith isnt huge in the East(Japan, China, Korea) right? EDIT: ah, just saw Holy Wars as one of the songs on the setlist, legitimacy hurt :(
  12. Only the one score for me this week, i cant post anyhting competitive with a 22 fret guitar http://oi63.tinypic.com/t7mwdv.jpg I will say this, there's one section of the song I 100%'d Easy thanks to Laser Cannon Death Sentence, and the Verses were pretty easy too. Also I did this on a sight read, stick your difficulty up your butt albatross
  13. No scores from me this week, life too much in the way, will hopefully get to unleash my new guitar on the next week song. I kinda want to release it kinda like Dan from RR but I'm not that good at riddles(nor does anyone really care) Great scores everyone, and great work on that collaboration for DT too. I played 1.9 last night and it was great. Just a reminder, please write any comments about cdlc quality on the cdlc page. It's much easier for the charters to see rather than combing 70 posts about scores and what not.
  14. You make owning a website with 185,000 members and managing everything on the administrative side look so easy. That's how great you have been. Guess I'm drinking beer tonight to celebrate, cheers all
  15. Rocksmith and I are having a disagreement, I did a full run twice on RR and only missed 4 notes(because ive been "streaking" in now in SA) however I do it in SA, and im only getting 97% accuracy. The fuck rocksmith? y u no give me my right score EDIT : 100% speed and diff on RR
  16. Choked at the end, prolly was about a 99%erhttp://oi68.tinypic.com/27ywcoh.jpg
  17. A difficult GN'R or Van Halen song for MC would be nice. And those tend to have Eb standard tuning. I am personally itching for some Dream Theater I meant the song this week, in the intro is the only thing that would be easier per say, but also the roots for a lot of the phrases would be in more common frets, such as 12, 5, 7, and 2. @@albatross213, what do you think, i havent tried the bass track, is there anything in the bass that would be easier with Eb Std tuning? I want MC songs to stay in E std until i get my new guitar...(so i guess I gotta replace lazer cannon, which for some reason has been the longest running song in the SSL ever, and ive been selected for MC lead before, im on to you organizers)but thats just my selfish reasons :P
  18. As I really start to think about MC lead, I really think it should be Eb std. A lot of fret logic would make more sense. I'll wait before I have a more in depth answer to post to the cdlc later today.
  19. @@Brutus Erectus I figured, I had only one shot to be a rock star, might as well do it and feel great That epiphone really never connected with me though, my Dean has seen a lot of glory, and a lot of tragedy. I would legit be depressed if anything happened to it, its a weird feeling.... But now, since you seem to be the re-incarnation of "insert guitar god here" its time to focus on the song for a bit
  20. @@Brutus Erectus Nah just an Epiphone, I said in an earlier post it was a cheapie, guess thats why its cheap but hmmm...that chorus riff has slowly been coming to me @@albatross213 :___) see this is why you'r e a people's champion I'll never be
  21. Played While My Guitar Gently Weeps with my Les Paul as a final ode(the damage was a crack IN the fretboard, so its unrepairable) went ahead and smashed it after Then my Dean showed me where appreciation gets you when you love your guitars http://oi65.tinypic.com/vhdk7c.jpg I wonder how close Brutus is to his limit, cuz i've already far surpassed mine, this was a very emotional run, and its only Monday
  22. And a couple of stand Wall-mount stands so i can hang them proudly! Fixed
  23. Not sure if it's repairable/worth the repair, it's a cheap guitar, I'll be getting a quote and seeing but... I might just use that as an excuse to get a new one
  24. Sad news today: my les Paul was propped up on the wall, something made it fall over. And the headstock snapped right off... R.I.p my guitar :___(
