CDLC Not Working on Mac - Cannot locate Cherub Rock DLC.
Sniper Reload3d replied to ricky_s6ixx's topic in Tutorials
Do not dispair. All nope is not lost, in fact easy solutions. FIrst, I do not use Mac, And @ Nick Beat usually handles and fields most of the Mac questions. Second, Cherub Rock was removed from the Store fronts in October. The License(s) expired, so the rights to the song(s) were as well. Moving on, Nick made a video on how to install the patch, but it seems you got that part covered. You will need another Official DLC in place of Cherub Rock. Any Official DLC will work, Take note of the song ID of that song you aquire. Go to Github, and get RSconvert via this link https://github.com/glebb/rocksmithconvert Use RSconvert to change the song to Mac format and the song id /app id of any Cdlc that you download to the Song / app id of the ODLC you purchased. The how to use Mac thread is here:- 5 replies

How to use Custom DLCs in RS2014 Remastered [Updated for 2023]
Sniper Reload3d replied to Izzy's topic in Tutorials
You are welcome, and I myself am not offended. I am just direct and didn't sugar coat it. Last person that Nick and I tried to figure out the problem, I ran afoul and got myself into trouble for saying something that looked like the wrong thing trying to get to the bottom of it. I am recommending that you familiarize yourself with the entire rules listed above under "Other" and then "Guidelines". -
How to use Custom DLCs in RS2014 Remastered [Updated for 2023]

This statement is very indicative of and suggests a pirated, non-Steam purchase . No legal downloadable forms of Rocksmith exist. Per site rules: -Before continuing you agree you have a purchased copy of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered -No piracy, no mentioning piracy-related sites, no crack discussion If this is the case, that is why neither .dll will work, and you are risking a site ban. -
They say to safe guard the key after you install. I do not think you can reuse a key, but it maybe possible, I do not have the answer to that. I would suspect that they do know and do not care. https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/rocksmith-2014-edition-remastered/purchases-and-rewards/article/missing-activation-key-for-rocksmith-2014/000063508 "Please note that keys are unique and can only be used once." https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0E71-0971-324A-1161

The key to this is a Fresh, Un-used key. At the moment, only the digital keys were removed. What that means is, yes, if you buy a brand new hard copy (dvd) version with a key that is not been used / bound to someone's account, for the time being you can still download Rocksmith. So if you go to a vender i.e. Amazon and purchase it, it should indeed work. Etownhammer said it worked for him. For how long this will work is anybodies guess, and when the keys run out, then that is it. A used copy / second hand purchase probably will not work as you need the key that is not already bound to someone's account. Once I downloaded Rocksmith from Steam 11 years ago, I have never ever ever used that dvd again. the dvd is basically worthless past the key install. I would have to find my original box, but I believe the key is just printed somewhere in the box, it is not on the physical dvd itself. Edit: the physical non-digital key is printed on the booklet inside the dvd case.

How to use Custom DLCs in RS2014 Remastered [Updated for 2023]

Scroll back just a few posts above yours, and read what Sandyclawz and Lovrom8 discussed. If you do not trust it, then manually put the .dll in the Rocksmith 2014 folder. The link is in the first post of this thread. -
I am not saying you have to start again. What I am saying, that is what I did, and I am saying I can not find the other thread. However at the moment, that maybe the fastest course of action. Alright, found the thread I was thinking of. There is no guarantee that her problem is the same as yours, or mine. Mine occurred after I edited my chart, but again, that was over a year ago, so remembering the details is more than fuzzy and faded. Again, I just started again. Coldrampage has not logged in for a while now, but I am sure he would have the answer for the cause and fix where I do not.
-
Yes, I have. That will be no help to you, but I have seen it. Not only in one of the ones I was (trying to) chart, but in one of the threads here someone else had that problem. In my instance, I deleted the one I was working on and started anew. I looked for over an hour for the thread where this had happened to someone else and not only unable to remember who asked, who answered, or what the thread was titled I was unable to locate it for you. I do know it has happened to other(s) tho, and somewhere here there is a thread.

I am assuming a Windows 11 issue. But that is an ASSumption. I have to scroll back, I believe someone else had the same problem. Edit: December 16, 2022. https://customsforge.com/index.php?/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014-remastered-updated-for-2023/page/32/#comment-374588 -
How to use Custom DLCs in RS2014 Remastered [Updated for 2023]

The easiest thing to do then would be just download the standalone .dll and manually put it in the Rocksmith folder. The link is on the first page, first post of this thread, right under the video. -
Did you move them to the recycle bin or did you empty the recycle bin, or did you prem delete with shift + delete? the obvious is to just restore if it is in the recycle bin. Is it a hdd or ssd? If it is a hdd, you can use a program like Recuva for pc. https://www.tomsguide.com/how-to/how-to-recover-data-from-a-hard-drive if you recover those files, save them to the desktop on the new drive, not the old drive so the old files do not get over written. if it is a ssd, the hopes of recovery are limited because that/those data sectors are written over. You will have to weigh how much effort you want to put into this. Another option is to put the drive back into the old computer, and see if you can restore a previous back up point. If the old drive was using Win10, Win10 supposedly has built in file recovery within Windows File History. https://www.easeus.com/resource/recover-deleted-files-hard-drive.html The main thing is that the game works. All and in all, though frustrating and you already realize this, if you have no songs missing, the dlc and cdlc work, the settings and favorites can be added / changed as you move forward. Progress lost is not that big of a deal really. You just get to do that progress over again. Surprisingly, it is funny how one person looks at it compared to another person. There has been more than one person that has asked about resetting progress on songs to re- do them without erasing their profile.

Correct. Nick is saying you will need to find (purchase from the Steam Store) a(n) (official) DLC song, then use the RSConvert utility he said to find on Github to change the cDLC songs appID/Song ID to the appID/Song ID of the song you that you purchased. -

@ Finex How long ago in the past has it been? If it has been more than a year, you will need to replace the D3DX9_42.dll. -

He was using the wrong (old) D3Dx9_42.dll. Have you tried running the game without the .dll to see if the base game works? -
@ Etownhammer I guess you will be a guinea pig for us then. Either way it pans out, it would be appreciated to let us know how it worked for you. If it doesn't, will save other people from wasting money, if it does work, than it can be a suggested method until the rest of the hard copies are depleted.
