  1. @@firekorn I appreciate that everyone should appreciate various tunings After all, all guitarist have to go through their drop d phase But on current version of RS I've resorted to nvidia shadow play recording compressed via handbrake To just load up and practice I've ordered a pitch shift pedal But for songs like IRIS a pitch shift will only get you so far
  2. 2yrs on @45yrs and yes I've managed to get a decent foundation from RS (but having said that i've 1k+ hours in) Ytube has helped a bit and i've noted the a few long term players I know, seem to be stuck only using the first 3 frets an won't go near bar chords, which fortunately mixing up styles and rhythm and lead has prevented me from falling into this trap. My intention is get my first few paid lessons in this year to get me out my bad habits and force me to learn / memorise a few more songs completely. ultimately it's a good tool, it could be better, but you'll get out what you put in, in regards to rhythm patterns get those under your belt ASAP (y/tube is your friend on that one). also grab a lounge electro acoustic for practising on the sofa or when your waiting to head out the door etc. EDIT: in regards to writing music within 2yrs definitely as my RS has been offline for while I sat down and wrote 5mins of music for partner recorded it with a Boss RC-30 loop, she was suitably flattered and seemed to genuinely appreciate the effort.
  3. Oh I forgot to mention The option to skip tuning would be warmly welcomed.
  4. Don't get me started on that subject it's sorely missed from both RS & RS2014 RS leaning's towards everyone playing like lead guitarists, is frankly odd Things like '3 little birds' etc. strumming methods should be included in the lesson sections and during song practice there is no excuse not to include a on screen legend of the correct strumming pattern hopefully the new RS will break away from the standard guitar hero presentation and focus more on being a tutor (i appreciate that RS was pain to remain focused on compared to RS2014, but there is huge chunk of screen on the upper right that begging for the inclusion of the legend).
  5. CRACKED IT!! trusteer rapport - program was causing the problem (which solves the following: 1. We have detected you are running a tampered excecutable. Please run the original executable 2. Rocksmith - error code 51 3. File corrupted His program has been manipulated and maybe it's infected by a Virus or cracked. This file won't work anymore 4. Application load error 3:0000065432)
  6. Trying to trouble shoot whilst steam is broken isn't the easiest
  7. @bustakun Cheers i'll send a PM I suspect waiting on Steam to be up running normally might be an idea, as they seem to be having alot of issues at the moment
  8. UPDATE: having spent 20mins reading through steams help forum this problem appears to rife fingers crossed steam should be releasing fixes shortly EDIT: in the meantime i would strongly advise not purchasing from steam at the moment, if you do ; your unlikely to receive email confirmation of purchase
  9. For the simple fact the standard IT response would be google, no immediate fix, backup and reinstall OS this Steam+win10 issue is a known problem which seems to have a various possible solutions but no set of definitive soloutions and I was prepared to have a proper go at fixing it, with the hope of finding a simple solution which could then be shared with the rest of this community, rather than writing it off as tough luck, better re install OS as stands I've spent days on this and i've now backed up and readied to for the pains of reinstalling OS
  10. Tried that Still didn't work I'm now backing up 'c' And getting ready to try a repair install
  11. ok here's the latest run various antvirus and malware uninstalled all currently running win defender only tried to run offline tried to run online flushed everything grabbed soma & fallout4 soma runs fallout 4 has the same problem as the RS's (variant error 3:0000065432) here's a complete dxdiag report i'm currently going through event logs again
  12. already tried that also manual delted the best part of steam to force a repair im currently deleting various pograms an drivers in also running w32 removal tools just to be on the safe side odd thing is everything else is running perfectly other than steam itself and both RSs (fortunately i've got x360 copy to keep me ticking over, unfortunately microsoft arent having a sale on the dlc).
  13. yep, 4 or 5 times which pretty much highlights valves support for steam itself isn't as amazing as you'd believe the more i'm digging the more common this problem appears to be and windows forcing various new apps onto win10 isn't helping (e.g. skype).
  14. tried that and various other stuff i'm struggling to even get a obvious system log error
  15. Done that And moved to different drives Scanned for malware and reg errors I'm suspecting the issue related to steam itself I'm gonna keep trying to track the cause But ultimately I can forsee a fresh os install being the safest answer
  16. Help! Rocksmith & RS2014 failing to start Rocksmith - error code 51 Rocksmith 2014 - "File corrupted His program has been manipulated and maybe it's infected by a Virus or cracked. This file won't work anymore." Running Win10 64 both installations have worked fine for years both files verfied by steam both files deleted and reinstalled i have run a full virus check (on 6tb of hardrives - which was so slow) system restore not available - turns out Win10 doesn't have this on by default - doh! deleted - ClientRegistry.blob suspects; win10 major update creative drivers - updated (which have now been removed) nvidia drivers - updated (which have now been rolled back) superanti spyware - last sweep seemed paticularly aggressive still no joy anyone any ideas or experience of this EDIT: SOLVED trusteer rapport - program was causing the problem (which solves the following: 1. We have detected you are running a tampered excecutable. Please run the original executable 2. Rocksmith - error code 51 3. File corrupted His program has been manipulated and maybe it's infected by a Virus or cracked. This file won't work anymore 4. Application load error 3:0000065432)
  17. ok sign me up for testing, as I've not into the habit of backing up anyway and as mentioned above "it would be good to give back to the community" and if anyone fancies putting together 'Paul Dempsey's' covers of 'stop' & 'wrecking ball' i'd happily be their testing bitch for the next year in regards to testing, just PM me with a dropbox or similar link, I'm on daily so you should get a 2day turnaround on feed back. I wont recognise near tonal differences but im not to bad nowadays on spotting rhythm sink issues (only be playing 1.5yrs but i have managed to get at least 1hr a day in (much to my better half's annoyance)).
  18. Elton John - Tiny dancer Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Philadelphiaplease
  19. Billy Brag - 'Levi Stubs tears' or 'New England'
  20. ouch tough choice, dont forget bonus options id take 1 3 5 and single guitars only as bonuses
  21. done so, but is there a possibility to mod this site to include a link or something to rhythm direction notations? (i'm guessing we'll be lucky to see this patched and still not convinced they even add this to 2017 edition, it just seems to get over looked)
  22. just had a thought. would it be possible to include the rhythm motion on the CDLC page - via a specific area? e.g. create a box/field under the tuning using the standard symbols http://www.cyberfret.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/most-common-guitar-strum-counting.gif
  23. figured that might be the case anything at all that could indicate patterns would be immeasurably helpful I figure RS2016 might include this, fingers crossed
