  1. Not a full range of motion yet, but I can do most things again. As of last week I was finally able to scratch my nose with my left hand. A guy's got to scratch his nose on occasion!
  2. This was fun. Volume UP!
  3. You can leave me in Int while I sort out getting dexterity back. That might not take so long. I was able to do beginner bass okay, and did Muse at a very slow pace - but it was all around 5th, 7th and 8th frets - so doable. I can't do barre chords yet, but I'll see what next week brings. The orthopedist doc was very cool about playing guitar to rehab my arm. The break is upper arm right at the elbow, so non-weight bearing movement at the elbow is a go!
  4. I broke my left arm the Wednesday before last. Riding my e-bike to the library, tried to avoid traffic. Hit a curb. The bike stopped. I didn't. Anyway, I can manage a D, C and G chord. Maybe A and E. Only cowboy chords. I might be able to do the first few frets on my bass as well. Can you guys put me in Beginner class? I think I'll try beginner bass, rhythm and lead next week. I can't do anything fast, fancy or higher up the fretboard - but might be able to do some simple songs.
  5. I Disappear - lead - 87%.
  6. Could someone fix my Bloodhound Gang bass score? The spreadsheet has me at 88.82. It should be 99.32. I'm not competing in Beginner Bass, so it shouldn't matter. And can users enter there own scores? Or is that kept to a subset of people? (no problems either way - I just wanted to know if I should be entering my scores) I Disappear rhythm. I'm still missing a lot, my index finger is bumping up against the low e string, muting it way too often. I need to work on accuracy.
  7. @ Rodman - that's a suite setup!
  8. @ Daz40 - I use a Bigshot ABY pedal. It takes a lead in from my guitar and has multiple leads out. I hook up my Realtone cable to one and that goes to my PC. I use the other to go to my amp (well, an Aqua-Puss Way Huge reverb pedal, a Holy Grail pedal for some slap-back echo, a Distortion pedal for Link Wray or Garage time - then my amp. With a Crybaby Wah pedal on the way). It works pretty good. I turn the bass and guitar sound in the game down to between 0% and 25% and mainly just listen through the amp. Since I run Ubuntu I noticed my input volume is very low. Especially when playing my guitar with a single P90 - so I use an LPB-1 Signal booster in front of my PC. You don't need all those pedals. They're just for fun. But the Bigshot ABY works really well splitting sound out to both my amp and my PC.
  9. I grabbed both the older and the newer versions of I Disappear by Metallica. I normally play on my desktop using Ubuntu and turn my guitar and bass volume way down in game and use an ABY pedal to route the sound through my amp. For testing I used my Windows 11 laptop with built-in sound. Aside from really hating the sound through my laptop's speakers, I thought it would be a more representative test. (I really hate the sound and get way too much static - it was not enjoyable at all. Think I'll use decent headphones or an amp when using my laptop and Win11) The rhythm part is very different between both charts. I'm not a Metallica fan and am not sure which is closer to the original, but I enjoyed playing the newer version more. It seemed closer to what I was hearing, but at my skill level and music preferences, I'm not the best judge. Additionally, the chart for lead guitar was very different between the two CDLCs. I preferred the newer version and think it might be closer to what I am hearing - but once again, I am not the best judge for that. I did not play the bass part through on my laptop, as my laptop speakers are really bad for bass. I might try it with headphones with 3.5mm jack later on. For my personal playing only, and my preferences only - I prefer the version by Crik74 more. It sounded closer to what I was hearing, and seemed to flow better. Anyone else willing to test and see which is closer to the original song and better charted? I'm fine with practicing either version for the competition (but prefer Crik74's). edited: seeing as @ Mattscall already submitted Metalicca "I Disappear" for intermediate rhythm and is out for the week, I'm fine using the old version to keep it fair (to be fair, pitter patter let's get at er)
  10. I have a lot of work to do on intermediate rhythm:
  11. I Disappear - bass: I play using a Bigshot ABY pedal and my amp. I've been watching youtube "how to play" videos, and am convincing myself I need a Crybaby wah pedal for doing the lead. I don't need it for the competition. I could play it on my Windows laptop that doesn't have as much delay as my Ubuntu desktop so I could use the in-game sound effects. It probably wouldn't arrive in time. But I think I need a wah wah pedal. Yes, I need to order a Crybaby wah. For reasons. Edited to add: Crybaby wah pedal ordered. Won't arrive until after this week's competition is done. But what the hey. Reasons.
  12. Beginner lead: Beginner rhythm: Beginner bass:
  13. Jessie's Girl bass and rhythm:
  14. Beginners bass: Beginners rhythm: Beginners Lead:
  15. A bit better on Moondance Lead:
  16. I know this is only .3% higher than my previous post, but I kinda wanted to post actually making it through Score Attack. Now to work on getting that score up.
  17. Moondance Lead. Kinda struggling around that small solo that copies the intro piano bit. Need to listen and work on it. Bu interesting, and will explore more from this band.
  18. I see in the spreadsheet my score for beginner rhythm was posted in Master Class. Could someone yoink my score outta masterclass rhythm and put it in beginner rhythm? I'm not competing in either class so I guess it doesn't matter, but I should have 94.92%, 95 point streak, 191,777 points for Moondance rhythm. Thanks
