  1. I wanted to learn guitar for ages, but had some of "those" mates in high school, that are just absolute musical maestros. They could pick up any instrument and given 5 minutes, be taking requests (flute, violin, guitar, saxophone - I'm not kidding). That was rather demoralising in school, so I stuck to piano then. Fast forward to my 32nd birthday. I now work from home and have adequate free time for learning the guitar. WIfey saw me checking out some Rocksmith videos on YouTube, asked why I never learnt to play a guitar - 5 minute conversation which results in her saying, "Well, I know what your birthday present is this year". It's totally stock currently. I also have a locally made nylon string acoustic that I was given by a friend that was leaving the country - but it's nasty to play (it sells new for the equivalent of $45). Since getting a guitar and starting to play Rocksmith - I decided to buy my Dad a guitar for his birthday and Rocksmith, he's since bought 4 more guitars since he "hates re-tuning" (excuse given to my Mum...... I know what he's really like). My guitar wishlist...... Ovation Elite 2078 TX Chapman ML-2 Classic This Steampunk 3d printed guitar http://www.3ders.org/articles/20131003-olaf-diegel-spectacular-steampunk-3d-printed-guitar.html (and if I'm honest, most of the other 3d printed guitars from that guy)
  2. http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/hurt-r5009 It's basically 4 main chords, but they are 99% played as arpeggios (pick 1, pick 2 - strum rest). once you have the pattern sorted in your head, it's actually a fairly easy song. Edit: There is also a youtube channel called ThreeChordGuitar - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMrJztSEGkHSzKtrG6zf7UA Most of the lessons were posted a few years aback - but I frequently find myself going back to them when I feel it's time to brush up on the acoustic jams. eg
  3. please allow me to add this one to the "learn tapping" list http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/he-man-woman-hater-incl-intro-r5132
  4. I just added this little gem to the Database. I'm still awaiting community feedback to perfect it (I'm not good enough to play it fully - but we need goals, right?) - so you might want to keep an eye on it for the Pro Masterclass. Extreme - He-Man Woman Hater, with the Flight of the Wounded Bumble Bee intro. http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/he-man-woman-hater-incl-intro-r5132
  5. The toolkit has 2 options, 1 for "Song Title" and the other for "Song Title Sort". The Black Keys being the name Black Keys being sort name. Not everyone sets the sort up the way we all want, so 20 seconds with the toolkit (Import package then change the sort name and hit generate) will fix your issues.
  6. I'm seriously tempted to get one of these http://www.fourforce.us/ Gets tons of great reviews, light, is fairly cheap and I like the fact it's a bit more robust than your normal boxes. Anyone here have experience with them?
  7. Civil War now has switched tones btw.
  8. Not switched tones, just 1 tone for the entire track - so it doesn't cause tone issues if you play another song afterwards. A few things need edited still - but it's playable now.
  9. http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/civil-war-r4985
  10. https://copy.com/zc8XGW4PTzkQ beta of civil war with DD and without - no tones included so some problems may be experienced with tones if you go onto another song afterwards. This is a direct conversion from the RS1 version (provided by Scott22373) - original creator unknown as the RS1 section of the Anvil has vanished to me (perhaps because I was only a contributor for RS2014). If the original is your work, say so and I'll remove the link. I won't post this to the database until I can track down the original creator and get permission - so if you have an idea who it could have been, please say so.
  11. Below is a link to some Rush tabs I have. I got them from a random torrent a while back - so no promises as to their quality, but maybe they can speed the process of this discography up a bit. https://copy.com/6fL1glSvuLG4
  12. Quite a bit of this is NSFW, you have been warned. http://youtu.be/AczIYDZqOCw
  13. Disregard - I got it working. MacGameStore hadn't processed my payment immediately because I was using an AMEX gift card. Once its properly billed, you log into the MacGameStore site, go to your Account / My games and there is a Steam key there that you can then throw into your PC's Steam account. No need for a mac at all.
  14. has anyone actually used this to get a copy working on a pc? I can't see a way to do it - since everything is saying Mac only - and as far as I can see, MacAppStore, doesn't provide a steam activation key.
  15. Check out "China Guitar Sceptic" on youtube - he has intentionally bought several of the Chinese counterfeit Gibsons etc and modded them up to a playable level. If you really want to get into it - watch his vids. Just know that if you are in the USA, selling the guitar later is a crime and there is only a fairly small chance it will even get past customs now.
  16. Don't really know if any of this can help you - but I just grabbed the few Tull related items I've found or been given by various people and put it together. https://copy.com/scm3dns9yTFx if it's useful to you, or anyone else - great.
  17. Please ignore, thanks to the wonderful Chat function here - this is mostly resolved.
