  1. That has nothing to do with the audio quality of the song itself. That has to do with the tone volume, and the level(s) you have the mixer set at. If you want to hear your own playing better, use the mixer to lower the volume of the audio track.
  2. It's nice to run into somebody who actually gets the reference :). Most people think I just have a weird screen name. Anyway... This might, and I do want to underline the "might", help you figure it out faster... You can add the "Date Added" column in Finder by opening your dlc folder and right clicking on any column to bring up the column list. Then sort in descending order (so newest files first) and remove however many files you need to in order to get under the 300 custom mark. Load up RS and make sure things go smoothly, to verify that the problem is/might be caused by any recent customs you've added. If it's still locking up, remove some more and try again. Then you can just add them back slowly from there and you won't have to go through the entire 300+ customs you have. Also, it might be worth noting that any time you have a lot of customs in your dlc folder it's recommended that you let the game fully enumerate the song list before going into the "Learn A Song" menu. As you probably already know, this can take some time but it's worth waiting it out. I occasionally run into freezing problems if I go into LAS without letting the game finish enumerating. I can usually tell that it might happen because the art work doesn't show up for most songs, and once I stop scrolling and the game tries to load the audio preview of whatever song I stopped at the game will freeze.
  3. I think it might be a problem caused by either a bad cDLC, or two or more cDLC's that are conflicting with each other. I have 313 customs, 230+ official DLC, all of (at least I think) the original RS1 dlc, plus the original RS1 on-disc songs. I haven't experienced any problems other than cDLC's conflicting with each other. I tend to add them 5 or less at a time and test each one, along with playing a few previously added customs, before adding any more. I'm using RS2014 on a Macbook Retina and a Mac Mini, both running Mavericks 10.9.4.
  4. I thought that was just 2 of the on-disc songs from RS1? An Eric Clapton and Cream song if I remember correctly. I have a ton of original RS1 dlc, but not sure if I have it all. I've never bothered to do a song-by-song check.
  5. Yes. All RS1 DLC is forward compatible with RS2014.
  6. Have you tried restarting? Sometimes that helps.
  7. It can be a tone problem as well.

  9. The DLL file goes into the Root folder for Rocksmith 2014, not the dlc folder. That's the "SteamApps/Common/Rocksmith2014" folder. You also need to purchase an official DLC through Steam in order to make customs work. It is recommend that you buy Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock" as that is the AppID that most customs use to allow them to work inside Rocksmith. If you buy something else you will have to use the Rocksmith Custom Toolkit from this site to update the AppID for all customs you want to use, which can be a pain.
  10. Did you read and follow the tutorial? http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/ Sounds like you're missing the DLL file.
  11. Unfortunately not. It's a known issue with Steam and part of their way of preventing users from buying DLC for games they don't own or can't use. Ubisoft is aware of the problem and is apparently working with Steam to resolve the issue however it's been like this for a long time so who knows if it will ever actually get fixed.
  12. Couldn't you just add a link to the official list on the submission page? Something at the top that reads along the lines of "Remember, no posting of official DLC. Please check [link to the official dlc] to make sure the custom you are about to post has not been officially released." Then no extra work needs to be done to maintain the list. I'm sure the wording could be better, but you get the idea.
  13. That's awesome news! I've been slowly learning the songs from Brothers outside of RS, but it will be great to play the tracks in non-stop mode along with the other BK tunes. Any chance you could do a more accurate version of Howlin' For You as well? I know there's already a version posted, but it isn't very accurate and the charter doesn't seem to respond to feedback. I'll be eagerly awaiting Everlasting Light, She's Long Gone, and Ten Cent Pistol. You never disappoint Brooklyn!
  14. There's still a few people using Sendspace as the main download link. I've never had a problem with Sendspace, and don't find it hard to download from at all. It's pretty easy to spot what's an ad, and what is a download link. Especially when it says "Click here to start download from Sendspace". However, I'm not a huge fan of their services and dislike the look of the site. It just looks cheap and unprofessional.
  15. The need to mod your Xbox to get cDLC to work on it has nothing to do with this site or the people who make the customs. It's necessary because of the way the file system is structured on the 360 (and playstation) and because using the cDLC requires files for the game to be hacked to grant the functionality. There's no way to use customs on an Xbox or PS3 without modding it. As far as pirating a copying for PC/Mac, you're obviously welcome to do whatever you want with your own computer. However you won't get much help here from people as its against the site rules and most people here would agree that buying a legit copy is well worth the investment. Without consumer support, there wouldn't be a Rocksmith 2014 and there won't be any other future editions. And without the game, there's no need or use for customs. Steam runs sales every couple of months and it's well worth picking up a discounted copy of Rocksmith then. It's usually on sale for around $15, which is a steal compared to the $60 regular price.
  16. Most people use either BandiCam (PC only), or ScreenFlow (Mac only). Bandicam has a free version, which just puts a watermark at the top of the video. There are lots of others, but those are the two most widely used. http://www.bandicam.com http://www.telestream.net/screenflow/overview.htm
  17. That pop-up is normal. The game is building the list of what songs you have in your dlc folder. If it's taking a long time I would assume that means you've added a ton of cDLC to your dlc folder. You can either wait it out, or remove some of your cDLC so that it can build the list quicker. I limit the content in my dlc folder to about 200-250 at a time, sometimes less. It's a good idea to limit what you have in the folder anyway, since customs will sometimes conflict with each other and/or cause freezing problems. It's easier to figure out which one(s) are causing the problem when you don't have a huge amount in the folder at the same time.
  18. No worries! Once you get it figured out if you have any problems with getting customs to work don't be afraid to ask. There are lots of helpful people here.
  19. You're not disappointing me at all. To each their own. However, you likely won't get too much help here as it's against the site rules to discuss and/or aid piracy. But your problem is related to a bad crack. You'll need to do a google search to find the answer you need.
  20. You didn't answer my first question though. Is it a legit version of Rocksmith, or pirated?
  21. Is your copy of Rocksmith for PC legit, or is it pirated? Because there is no difference in the cables. They are the exact same cable for every platform. I migrated from PS3 to Mac and use the cable that came with my PS3 version of Rocksmith. And just to eliminate it as a cause, you're plucking one string at a time when you tune correct? Not strumming them all at once? You should also verify that the input volume for your realtone cable is set high enough inside Windows and that your guitar volume is all the way up.
  22. Looking at the gear included with Amplitube 3 (looking at the desktop pc version quoted "The Full Flagship Version") http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube/index.php?pp=amplitube-3-gear it only contains the metal and old jimi hendrix packs, then you have to buy the other packs: AmpliTube Orange (8 in the pack, only 5 included in AT3) AmpliTube Fender (12 in pack, only 6 included in AT3) Ampeg SVX (not included in AT3) AmpliTube Slash etc.... (not included in AT3) It is only 80euro at the moment instead of 160 which is good, but at full price I would have thought the other packs would be in there. Though I'm a bargain hunter and a bit tight with my money, so have high expectations as it's a good value modeling pack. Would be Amplitube 3 be useable with Mixcraft 6 too? Thought I'd ask, as some of us use it I expect :) By having Amplitube connected up to your amp do you mean guitar amp or conventional stereo amp and speakers? tris A google search suggests that you can open up the Amplitube VST files inside Mixcraft by adding them through the preferences menu. As for an amp, I used to play through a Roland Micro Cube but decided to sell it after fixing my old Fender Frontman which has a better, less processed (or less digital) sound. I now play Amplitube/Rocksmith through my Mac Mini or MB through a nice pair of Klipsch 2.1 speakers or through my Denon 7.1 receiver. If I go portable, I use my Marley Roots Rock portable speaker.
  23. Using the standard IRig. To connect to an amp/speakers I'm thinking I should have 1/8 STEREO to 1/4 MONO and I'm using MONO on both ends, Could that be the problem? I don't get any feedback when I play through headphones. I guess if you're willing to buy another cable it can't hurt to try. However, I'm wondering if it's because you might have a 2-way cable. Meaning the cable is capable of sending both an output and receiving and input at the same time. I used to use my iRig HD and Amplitube with my Roland Micro Cube amp and whenever I would try to use the 1/8" cable that came with the amp I would get feedback and interference. But using the seemingly same 1/8" cable that came with something else it would work fine. It wasn't until I found out that the Roland cable was a 2-way cable meant to be used with their Cube Jam app (for recording and playback at the same time) that I realized that was the problem.
  24. I use the Quick Lok guitar seat. I really like it because it's fully adjustable at the foot rest, seat, and back rest. Plus it folds up when I'm not using it. It's extremely comfortable and keeps my back nice and straight, which keeps my shoulder from getting fatigued. It also keeps both my feet off the floor so I'm not slouching all the time while I play. I can usually sit for about 2-3 hours before my ass starts to get sore, and it's only minor soreness. http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop_image/product/quiklok-dx-749-height-adjustable-musicians-stool-large.jpg
