  1. Thanks Deviate, that bridge looks nice and beefy. Looking into it now.
  2. Laguanitas! My favorite brewery right now. Hop Stoopid especially.
  3. Thanks for the input. I will give it a go. It's good to know that there is a community here to support newbies like me.
  4. Thanks Reiro, fixing this bass up will be diy project. I don't mind if I have to drill a few new holes. I was looking at the badass II bridge.
  5. I am almost always in 'learn a song' with cdlc there seems to be endless material available. Thanks contributors.
  6. I sn not a Programer and eof scares me.
  7. How much time does it normally take you to create a cldc? I want to make my own but have limited time.
  8. Marty V I agree. Every one must find what is suitable for them. The latest Taylor advert had a nice article on this subject. It claimed thst more experienced guitarists preferred thicker picks. I sm wondering if this holds true. It does for me. I enjoyed the ease of thinner picks early on, but now love the control I get from a thicker pick.
  9. Curious if anyone else has tried the Moshay picks. I like to hold it when I am not playing guitar. Highly recommend. Though they are a bit expensive. Normally $2.75 per pick, but well worth it.
  10. On the 8 string are you getting 1 lower 1 higher, 2 lower, 2 higher, or do you double?
  11. I was enamored of Dunlop nylon .72's and .88's but recently discovered Moshay. I don't think I will ever go back. The Moshay picks are, so far, the best I've tried. I am using the the medium and the thick. Small size. Try them out if you can find them. Very comfortable, sits nice in the hand. Great contact point. And no, I do not work for, or represent them. What's your favorite pick?
  12. Thanks Marty V, what i want is something with more mass. For half the price of an mim the Squire sounded better. I'm thi king to upgrade some hardware. New bridge and pots. The pickups sound good, and tuners seem fine.
  13. Although I <3 my mim hotrodded frankenstrat my favorite guitar is '62 Jazzmaster. So smooth and jangly. I would want it in tobacco sunburst.
  14. I just got a Squire VM Jazz bass to enhance my rocksmithiness. I love the bass except for the bridge which feels cheap. Any suggestions on a solid replacement? Bear in mind I will be doing the replacement myself including setup so nothing too complicated. Thanks.
  15. I played guitar in a band called Surrender Dorothy in the early '90s in New Orleans. In the mid 90's it was bass with the Steve Walther Orchestra in Boston. Late 90s early 00s found me playing bass with garageDogs in Boston and then Los Angeles. I was lucky enough to play many epic gigs at some epic venues. Now I am having a blast with rs14. Edit: should read, Now I am having a blast with rs14 playing with almost any band I want to thanks to cdlc contrbutors. Thanks!
  16. Simple solution is turn your guitar down ;)
  17. Nick Cave's Stagger Lee=Awesome bass! Thanks!
  18. Been doing some lead and some rhythm, but am walking out the door now to pick up a bass! Can't wait!My main guitar is a mim frankenstrat. The bass I'm going to get is a Squier vm.
  19. I was shocked to wake to the news that Smithys was ending cdlc support, and even more amazed at how quickly this forum is developing. Thanks Unleashed for the hard work.
