  1. The download link for this doesn't work anymore, is anyone able to re-upload it? Or is this functionality (disabling on-disc songs) available in another tool now?
  2. I'm guessing you already figured it out by now, but yes this setup would work for you to get the amp sound without latency + rocksmith game sound, and also through headphones. Just in case.. after using the Lehle to split the signal coming from guitar, the Realtone cable goes into the game, the other cable into your Code 100 head. And then mute the rocksmith guitar volume in the game. for headphones: you need to connect a cable from your PC soundcard's Line-Out, into your Code 100 Line Input 3.5mm. And connect your headphones to the headphone socket on the amp. super easy!
  3. I am interested to do this. I tried it once in the past using CustomForge song manager, but it had issues and I couldn't get it to work. Be great if you could share Morley!
  4. Haha, I have never even thought about it before. I definitely haven't played it, or even listened to it. I should give it a go some day!
  5. This is super easy to do, took literally 1 minute using the link earlier in the thread (here) And to think, I almost didn't bother, because "compiling myself" sounded too complicated! Thanks cozy1 for your work on the tool!
  6. Wasn't able to play the last couple weeks, but definitely want to get a score in this week. I'd like to go into the intermediate category from now please.
  7. No score for me yet on Help... quite a lot for me to get the hang of the chord changes and also learn to do barre chords. I'm up to about 80% speed and it sounds like shit! . I'm also having the opposite problem with note detection compared to palm mutes.. the game now seems way too generous with registered the chord even though it sounds horrible.
  8. I think it's an interesting idea. Could be good to be able to keep working on the same song and fix up those last things to make it sound good, or try a different challenge. Probably a good system for encouraging people to transition between classes, so it's not such a sudden feeling jump from on to the other. I'll give intermediate a shot, though I think it's maybe a bit too chord heavy for me as a lead. But that's just because I haven't learnt any chords whatsoever just yet. (I was hoping to follow the BB King route.. )
  9. Literally failed on the last note in master mode  . But it forced me to listen to the song and memorise it almost instantly. Starting to see the value of master mode more now.
  10. @@diceslinger If you enter the menu while in learn a song, there is an option for "Mixer" and you can turn the music volume down and keep the guitar volume higher to hear it isolated. I play through an amp into the PC though, so I have the rocksmith guitar volume muted as well, but it's works the same. Find it quite harder to get the timing right relying on the visuals rather than the sound I think :). The recording software is called OBS Studio which is free, and not too difficult to set up. It's been helping a lot though with doing solos and trying to develop my ear, to record bunch of plays through, then going back and watching the replay and listening and getting a better sense of what it sounds like to over-bend or under-bend.
  11. Had a really good run and then choked on the solo.
  12. Had a crack at the Scorpions solo... feel like I'm getting better with bends, sounds almost like a real solo . I still find it hard to tell while actually playing, but at least I can hear when listening back afterwards when the bend is not quite in tune. I feel like I am maybe over-bending a bit to make the notes register. One bit I am not sure about is this though... how are you supposed to do those pull offs? to the 9th and then to 7th fret but with different fingers
  13. Great choices this week! I'm trying to focus on making the solo sound "good", musical rather than just correct hitting the notes. Any solo I play always sounds like crap so far if I ever listen to it on it's own. Any tips appreciated :). This is a clip without the backing track, best I can get it sounding after a couple hours.
  14. Cool nice one for doing this. I gave them a try without reading properly and thought it was a rock course and was a little surprised hehe. But the exercises were cool and I still didn't get 100% on my first tries. :) If you had "Three Blind Mice" that would be cool to FC now for revenge purposes seeing as that was the song that led me to give up my lessons at age 6! But each kid is different.. that was just me. And my parents were forcing me to learn on a full-size acoustic so that I would "learn properly" when all I wanted to do was make noise with an electric (and play Metallica, Iron Maiden and Guns n Roses though I understand how unrealistic that goal was now ) So cool that you guys are interested and play along with your kids... that's awesome. Best of luck with it hope they keep it up!
  15. Yeah I get what you mean now, had misunderstood but glad I asked for clarification. I tried using my middle and pinky to do the powerchords and it was like I was trying to use someone elses hand to play guitar or that I had a dead arm. Felt a bit numb and weak even trying to finger the chords. Definitely going to practice and incorporate this, nice one. I should probably do more chord work in general I haven't really got them down well yet at all.
  16. I think this is me done for the week. Anyone gets the 100% then well done! My first song learned properly by memory on guitar, never guessed it would be by Pink  Fun week though. Hard: Master:
  17. Tried Master Mode and Been trying to get this to sound decent. Seems to sound better by really smacking the strings! When strumming chords like that, do people mute the low string, and then hit hard and follow through with the pick? Or still try and stop short and only play the 3 notes of the chord. I find that when I do a hard up-strum and follow through it will still make the low string move far enough from my finger to make sound.
  18. Tried score attack and it's pretty distracting with everything flying around the screen. But also kindof intense.. made me super nervous about making mistakes.
  19. Thanks. When you say leading with the index finger, do you mean placing that one down first as the anchor point to bring the other fingers into the shape -- so I should sometimes use middle and pinky first for that?
  20. I started out doing the 60 day challenge except I've kept it going for 90 days now :). Been playing about 2 hours a day, and I've been making a video at the end of each month to track my progress and hopefully get some feedback. I'm not able to sign up with a guitar teacher just yet, so I'm not sure if I'm developing any bad habits or learned some things wrong which will limit me. Or what I should focus on the next few months. I do almost all of my playing in riff repeater at a slow speed trying to work it higher and higher, and whenever I get to a speed that I start to feel tension in my hand and not able to relax it while I play, I usually stay around there until I can progress comfortably. The first month I tried to focus a lot on trying to get the basic techniques usable. And played a really wide variety of stuff to do a bit of everything. But I made a shortlist of about 10 songs with relevant sections and focused on them only for 2 weeks to try to work them up to speed. The second month, I wanted to focus on being able to do bends more in tune, and also increasing my finger speed, as in the first month I really struggled to get past 85-90% speed comfortable on anything except really simple songs. Like hitting an invisible wall with every song! So I made a new shortlist of specific riffs / solo lines but this time, I only played the relevant sections over and over. The third month, I wanted to focus on trying to get my playing to sound more musical. I focused a lot on my right hand and trying to control the pressure / picking dynamics. Also to start trying to use volume and tone controls, and switching channels on my amp. So this time, I've been playing longer sections continuously / some whole songs. So I focused on only about 5 songs for the month. I'm wondering which approach would be best for me going forward now? To keep focusing on only a few songs and focus on them sounding good and the techniques to sound good. Or focusing on trying to "train" my finger speed / more complex riffs / solos and force myself past my limits?
  21. Tried out some of the other songs.. I like the intermediate lead song but it was not too fun as a lead part, maybe just because it hurts my hand to play. Also my guitar has only 22 frets and even reaching the 19th fret on the yellow string is really hard so the last solo I was just spectating  But the Oathsworn song though... really really cool and some great melodies. More fun to play that on 60% speed than the other songs at full speed for me this week I think. Played it for a few hours straight actually. Feel like I'll probably improve myself more by playing this slowly and trying to get faster over time. Kudos to anyone who can play it at 100%!
  22. Well done Bounours for last week! My entry for this week... though I feel like this song should not be "lead" but instead "rhythm" ?
  23. I've been having the issues with note registration too, but looser palm mutes helped a bit. Sounds ok which is what counts I guess. My recording got flagged for copyright on Soundcloud so I guess it can't be too far off
