  1. Mhh, maybe it's because we're doing it differently, but if/when I add a chord in an arpeggio marked area, I don't get a pane: http://thumbnails109.imagebam.com/36550/67d88e365494953.jpg
  2. Normal EoF output: http://puu.sh/cXv8s/a4e2815da1.png I tried: 1) Deleting everything in the above picture. Didn't work. No highlighted area. 2) Setting the chord templates count to 0 and deleting the chord template part (with display name etc). Toolkit refused to generate a file. Then I set up another arpeggio thingy in EoF, and compared the output. It looks like each chord is given an id. The handshape tag references the chordID: http://puu.sh/cXvHX/164b7ffa1a.png There is no information in the handshape tag themselves, except for start time, end time, and which chord to display. So, chordIDs are not hardcoded. Which chordID refers to which chord, and the fingers needed to play that chord, differs per song/arrangement/xml output. While there is an inherited order (e.g. An A chord comes before an E chord, no matter which chord comes up first in the arrangement), the chordIDs are still dependent on which chords are actually in the XML. So my conclusion would be this: Chord tag IS needed.
  3. Indeed. I believe there is only a problem if the chart starts more than ~5 seconds after the music starts. RS2014 starts a few seconds before the first beat starts (the first beat in eof). I don't know if this is because the way EoF exports the xml files and if that can be fixed?
  4. 1) I have no idea how to check this 2) It does not. You can use whatever fret number you want. It can even be outside the width of the highlighted area: http://puu.sh/cX7jX/6db6376cad.png
  5. Raynebc, I have a small feature request. You know those highlighted noteways with handshapes like this: (35s in)? I'd like to be able to create this in Eof without editing the XML. I've rummaged about a bit and it seems it should be very easy for you to implement. Thing is, there's already a function like it in EoF: the arpeggio function. To get the above effect, all one needs to do is remove "-arp" from the display name you get when using an arpeggio. So to implement this function, you'd probably just copy the arpeggio function, and in the output for the display name, you'd just remove "-arp". This would get the desired effect: a handshape and the noteway is highlighted. The only hard part would be to think of a name for it :)
  6. Just Tested it. Sync is perfect and I think you got all of the notes correct. Lead I like the distortion tone alot, but I think you should set a less heavy tone for during the Chorus (Burn you wishes, Take back control, Meet you wishes)During the solo many of the notes are sustains when they don't need to be. This makes the sweep picking confusing. Rhythm One of the crazy notes during the chorus bugs out. I don't know how to fix this, but maybe setting it as a arpeggio might work. You did a very good job. I never heard of this band, I like their sound. Hope this helps, good luck. This helps a lot, thank you. I'll see what I can do to fix everything you mentioned :) Thank you :)
  7. I have a CDLC that needs to be tested by a 7-string player. It's in B Standard. It can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzJLP3urqPv_T2FZcGhFTUhwMFk/view?usp=sharing Any feedback and all feedback is welcome.
  8. I found another GP import bug: http://puu.sh/cD5H2/a21d57b602.png/ss%20%282014-11-04%20at%2006.07.00%29.png As you can see, bar 161 imports correctly, but bar 162 is missing one chord. Also happens at bar 163 and bar 166. It also goes out of sync by a few bars around bar 166. I've uploaded the GP file here for you to look at: https://www.sendspace.com/file/bapkut. EoF file is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j76e1sgpfc8b12b/Mayan%20-%20Paladins%20Of%20Deceit%20%28Pro%29.eof?dl=0 Accompanying .ogg file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/igpclk05gdbnikf/guitar.ogg?dl=0
  9. There is only one reason why I don't include DD in my customs anymore, at least not as the main arrangement: there's a bug that levels you down if you miss too many notes in a phrase/section, even if Level up is set to off. This does not happen every time, but it happens often enough to be annoying. I don't know if it's introduced by using the "crack" to use CDLCs in the first place, or the way the DDC works. But there it is.
  10. Of course. Here's the GP5 file I used: https://www.sendspace.com/file/4h4vuu It's on the solo guitar arrangement, bar 37 is the first one where that riff appears.
  11. I found another bug/incorrect import with GP files. http://puu.sh/ctaK8/0ab8a505fa.png/ss%20%282014-10-27%20at%2010.00.06%29.png There is a tech note added to the last note of the bar on the second string, 15th fret, while there is none in the GP file.
  12. You're better off starting from scratch.
  13. Errr, I said bend. I meant slide. Is that also doable with tech notes? Edit: Yup it is. My bad! At least the GP import is still bugged though :)
  14. I have a feature request that might take a while to implement: allow us to select individual strings/notes which are part of a chord, and apply individual techniques to them. for example: http://puu.sh/c89f0/461901f0db.png/ss%20%282014-10-11%20at%2005.07.21%29.png is imported as http://puu.sh/c89oY/661c8965fb.png/ss%20%282014-10-11%20at%2005.10.12%29.png As you can see, the bend is applied to both strings (at least, as far as I can tell), instead of just the first string. This limits our... creativity. Yeah. That. Maybe something like, when you press alt + click on the string, you only select the string you're hovering over. Normal click = select all strings of that chord/double stop/power chord. Edit: tech notes. Duh. Also: the first note on the second string should have the "linknext" status automatically applied to it. Import bug? :)
  15. Looking forward to it :) Also, I made a mistake in the title of that song. It's "Manhattan", not "Manhatten".
  16. The problem with disabling truncating of short notes, is that it also disables it for single notes, which I don't want. I just want to truncate the single notes, not the chords.
  17. Quarter note length chord do have their proper length. I believe shorter chords do as well. Seeing as all chords that are a quarter note or shorter in duration are truncated, it IS hard/time consuming to get every chord to their proper duration. Might not make much of a difference if the BPM is high, but in those songs where it's low, it really makes all the difference. Besides, aren't we going for accuracy here?
  18. I wasn't talking about that sustain (the note tails), but the highlight on the noteway. Apologies for the confusion.
  19. In every situation where the chord's sustain is truncated. When there's a single chord, in-game you'll just get a chord with a millimeter of sustain. Just looks silly. Besides, the reasoning behind truncating short notes was to free up the screen from unnecessary clutter. Adding sustain to chords does not clutter up the screen.
  20. So, I've noticed I've got a few projects that are halfway done or more, which I can't be bothered to fix/complete. I've decided to upload them here. Anyone is permitted to complete these and upload these, giving credit where it's due. Also, leave a note here when you decide to work on something, so we don't get duplicates. First up: Blackmore's Night - Wish You Were Here (click it to download all the files) Reason: Noticed it was in D Standard when I entered it in the toolkit. Can't be arsed to re-tune to D Standard, so I can't test it. Still needs: Tone changes for both lead arrangements (Part_real_guitar_22 and part_real_bass_22 are used for lead arrangements). Some notes might need the Vibrato status added to em. Already has: All arrangements synced, sections, synced vocals Next: After Forever - Intrinsic Reason: Hell if I know. Still needs: Could add bass (tab is for a 5-string though). Needs tone changes and vocals. Already has: Guitar arrangement synced, sections. Next: After Forever: My Pledge Of Allegiance #2 The Tempted Fate Reason: Dunno. Everything seems to be there Still needs: Might need some tone changes. Vocals Already has: Lead/Rhythm/Bass synced. Sections. Next: After Forever - Transitory Reason: No clue. Still needs: chord sustain fixes (toggling crazy status on chords, ya' know). Already has: Rhythm/lead/bass synced. Sections. Synced Vocals.
  21. While we're talking about truncating short notes, I still wish EoF wouldn't remove sustain from chords, even with truncate short notes enabled. Is there any way I can manually prevent EoF from doing this, by editing the source code for example?
  22. I wasn't talking about all updates, just a specific one.
  23. So I take it that uninstalling that windows update didn't fix it for you?
  24. Agreed. I already do that, as you'll see in the video. I did not include that in the post, because I can not fix retarded. :)
