  1. I've never heard the song before. It is not a common occurrence that song with non-english lyrics become popular in the US. I can think of a few; the Macarena (spanish), La Bamba (spanish), and 99 Luftballons (the german version charted as well as the english lyric version). I have to say, that Spider Murphy Gang tune is a catchy one. I looked up the translation of the lyrics and was laughing! What a song!
  2. Heck yeah! You must have been reading my mind, I've been thinking we needed to start these again. When is your deadline?
  3. Friday and I'm just downloading the new week's songs...sigh.
  4. Looks like it is back to beginner rank for me then!
  5. I used to find that riff repeating early in the week lead to way better scores by the end of the week. But I was way more competitive back then
  6. I thought I had better scores, didn't upload them somehow.
  7. Late start this week, next week won't be much better. But it is a good sort of busy
  8. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery my friend! Do they ship hot chicken soup internationally?
  9. A few things, the basics are supporting the bend with another finger. I also have learned that Rocksmith likes if you play the note and then bend it, but that is dangerous because the bend is late and doesn't sound fluid so you are learning them wrong to get it to register. I dislike that part, but I force myself to be aware of it. The other is a bit more witchcraft. I tend to tune my guitars 3-5 cents flat from the pick. So I do a slow almost tremelo pick when I tune. This tunes my attack, then leaves me some room for when I fret too hard. On the bass I only go 1-2 cents flat because the thicker strings don't detune with heavy fretting as badly. I'm working on fretting lighter, but when it gets fast and furious I tend to clamp down tighter. This can be a bit inconsistent. Occasionally it all fits together and I feel like I can play anything. Other times I know I can play a section and keep failing. When that happens I'll retune and often have better luck. I also don't discount long repetitive passages. I try to work on my intonation during them and keep myself focused and in the moment. Otherwise I'll start zoning out and my finger are all like "What? We have never played this part before! Play all the wrong notes!"
  10. I also wanted to mention that Beggin is originally a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tune. That bassline was ahead of it's time in 1967. It was also covered by Madcon before Maneskin. All three version charted in the top 20, the Four Seasons version in the US, and Madcon and Maneskin in the UK and Europe. All three versions are bangers if you ask me.
  11. It has been a while since anyone attempted Master. Nicely done! I updated your scores with the Berry Red color so you get the +1 point.
  12. I thought I had posted some of these...guess not.
  13. I agree on the Hotel California bass being more like a 7, but as it is a song from the past I gather the preference is to not change the rating.

  15. I don't know that I really like most Maiden, but I like playing most Maiden. I think they, much like Jethro Tull get a lot of mileage out of the pentatonic shapes. I really liked Maiden's Cross Eyed Mary, now I think I have figured out why.
  16. Then I went up and got a glass of water. This is what happens when I pick up the E standard guitar instead of the drop D guitar
